Beef Steak, try it on your own risk

After many days of wait, finally went there with family. First impression, the location is perfect. While driving by, it looks good place to eat. Parking is a bit tight. most of the time have to park on the side roads. Being next the KMS spares parts and RadioXL, it won't be good idea to park on their allocated space as you most likely to get clamped, so advise is to park on the side road if there is no space for restaurant parking. Now to the welcome, was greeted by smiling staff, good impression. the deco is good, nothing fancy but something advanced fish and chippy like place. Young day staff looked less interactive with the customers, the main guy who was taking the orders was a bit YALLA, he didn't even knew where is his Chef's from, i.e. if you are going to a place which emphasises on LAHORE being my Lahore, I was expecting some punjabi chef's with authentic touch of cooking skills, but the order taking guy had no clue where are the chef's from, his answer was, they are from different parts of Pakistan... really? I mean come on. okay fair enough, maybe there are less Lahori's in Birmingham and more Dadyali's, :-P okay so now we waiting for the food. We ordered, Keema Chips, Meat Lasagne, Mixed vegetables as side, Beef steak, and King prawns. as can be seen from the pictures, the presentation obviously looks very good. I wanted to dive straight into the food to enjoy the taste of Lahore, but wait.. .what is that... it does not taste like Lahore food. Okay so upon enquiring the food's quality, the answer we got is that, because this is British Asian Cuisine, okay, so what is British Asian Cuisine have to do with My Lahore? I mean come on, Lahore is Lahore, people who have eaten in Lahore and have grown up with the authentic taste of Punjabi food, they will not class the food from myLahore as authentic Lahori food. The beef steak did not taste like a steak, it was dry and bland. Keema with chips, nothing special, I can make better myself. I have no comment about Meat Lasagne, I would say, just don't bother with it. The only thing we agreed was good was, King Prawn, it was yummy. The sauces we got with the popadom, tasted like made a week ago, The onion chutney to go with popadom, smelly. The only thing we really enjoyed was, the authentic taste of sprite and coca cola, as that was served in original glass bottles, wow what a relief. Something authentic is there atleast. My overall feedback. This place is not for authentic Punjabi people. This is for the new generation of BRITISH ASIANS who have not tasted original food as it meant to be from back home. so I see why this place was so busy, as people must have tasted something different from typical bland food quality available in Birmingham. First visit is last visit here for me and my family. Having said all that, The staff was kind enough to listen to our negative feedback and they were happy to relay the message to the kitchen staff for future improvements. But for me I am not going back. Anyone who wants to experience and waste their time and money , please do try it for the sake of it. BUT NOT RECOMMENDED.

The food was good, I liked how they had a variety of options from western style to Indian things. Plus the prices weren't high. However the service wasn't all tht great. We had to stare and grab the attention or servers when we wanted to order or when we needed anything. It's a nice casual place to just go and eat

Inside it seats around 30 and is decorated in a modern style that still manages to be warm and welcoming. We visited recently for a meal for 4 on a Friday evening. The restaurant was nearly full. All our starters and mains were served in a timely manner and were delicious. I ordered the scallops and duck and both were brilliant. This is not a mega cheap place but it is worth the money charged. We spent around £35 per head with drinks. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming.

It doesn't look much from the outside but from the moment you go in, you are made to feel at home. A clean modern restaurant. All our food was served promptly, and was devoured just as promptly - all excellent. I have visited many "Italian" Restaurants both in Italy & here in the UK and I have to say this is certainly in my top ten! Good food made from quality ingredients, with excellent service is never cheap (if cheap is what you want, there are many pub restaurants to choose from) La Nonna is reasonably priced for the standard of food & service you receive, you can pay a lot more elsewhere for a lot less! Well worth a visit

DO NOT let this bother you. - recently, my wife and I ate an OK Greek meal, but it was in a such a beautiful premises, that anything but an amazing food experience would have been a let down. The food didn't match the quality of the restaurant. I just think that in this restaurant, when you walk in, it was so 1970's, that anything half decent was going to impress. It wasn't the best food. King prawns were over cooked, the bread was undercooked, the calamari was perfectly cooked, but the coating/batter was under. My 8oz fillet was perfectly cooked, but the pate on top was really cheap, coarse, tasteless, horrible pate. The sauce with the steak was stupidly thick, (but seriously tasty). Such a shame. That said, it was great. I love the fact that after all those comments, I loved it. I also can't wait to take friends there to see what they think. I think you should visit. It's a great evening.

Tiled, mirrored walls and arching pillars add a sense of authenticity to the interior and leather seats make the whole set-up feel plush and expensive. Which is very apt indeed, as most dishes cost in excess of £15 each. On my visit, I sampled the 'pollo alla duchessa' - chicken, prawn and asparagus in a brandy and cream sauce, which was gorgeous, and I'd definitely visit again. But only if somebody else was paying!

Upon arrival at the restaurant for a friends birthday we were quickly welcomed by two very happy waiters who quickly took our coats and asked us if we would like to get a drink in the bar area while we wait for our other guests. Within seconds our drink orders had been taken and we were taken to a booth to sit down and relax. As soon as our other guests arrived we were taken around to our table which had been beautifully laid out with everything you could need and more, our drinks were brought over for us and we were offered a look at the menu. The menu is pretty much what you would expect from an Italian restaurant with a whole host of pastas, salads and pizzas all with mouth watering descriptions which instantly mades you want to eat everything! I went for the spinach and ricotta tortellini which was fantastic! It was beautifully crafted and presented with rich and tasty dressing over the pasta shells. After such a good main meal we decided to go all out and order a desert......I went for the tiramisu. This was also very well prepared and again I could not fault it. This is somewhere I would really only go for a treat as it is slightly more expensive than some of the other restaurants in the area but what a treat it is. The staff are some of the best and most helpful I have ever come across and the food is spot on.

We sat outside in the gorgeous sunshine, although the seating inside is elegant with bright red sofas, you feel you want to dress for the occasion and make a full day of it, it's so nice. Quieter in the day than the evenings, the Italian food is delightful. We tried the grilled asparagus with poached eggs, and shared a Margherita pizza for our mains. The ingredients they use in their meals are fine, and the options form part of their spring menu. A nice light lunch, washed down with Rose, at a decent price too.
