Unlike other stores on the main drag, this shop was incredibly well organized and allowed the eye room to breathe with pockets of displays amidst wide open space. Pricing was comparable to what we'd find elsewhere and the folks behind the counter were lovely to make small talk with. Congrats on your current reno, and best wishes for 20 more years!

I've only seen the brand at one shop in Chicago (though I'm not constantly looking for it), and that shop only had the redwoods scent I think. So now I have even MORE lotion (I have too much; it's a problem) in some really nice, subtle scents. Evan Healy is another brand that they have, which I have never tried but have heard about for years. They also sell scarves, blankets, jewelry, candles, and so on. They had some really delicious salted caramels when I was in so I bought a few of the individual pieces. It's definitely worth a stop if you're in Galena! Shopkeepers are really friendly too. There are a couple of steps to enter the store, so accessibility could be tricky.

For instance, we purchased the incredible Lavender hand soap in a classy brown-glass container and have thoroughly enjoyed it. We brought it back with us for their wonderful $10 refill deal. They refilled the bottle while we shopped and had it ready when we were ready to check out. Such great service. Some other staples include high quality candles, organic soap bars, decadent hand-creams, and luxurious lotions! Galena apothecary introduced me to the Sea Aster hand creme which I now swear by. I always have a travel size in my pocket! Some other amazing purchases have included candles inspired by different scents found in national parks and a Rosebud Apothecary keychain (yay Schitt's Creek references). The staff are always kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. They've helped me get connected with the best products for me. And I've LOVED how they have maintained protective COVID safety protocols throughout all of the pandemic through today. Thanks for keeping us safe! Galena Apothecary is an incredibly classy, high quality, and chic store. Since the products are high quality, do know that its prices are on the higher end. But the products are totally worth it! Last year, my mother in law asked to see a vase and was told she really couldn't afford it anyway so they werent going to bring it down. I was appalled. This store should be avoided at ALL cost. When we said no just looking he said "didn't think so" (very rudely). Well we were interested in other items but chose to walk out because of the encounter. Well as we are walking out he eyes us up and says "yeah, you go shop somewhere else" and shoots us with a finger gun. Well this is one of the rudest encounters I have ever been part of. I can understand if we were rowdy and tearing the shop apart but we were being very respectful to his items. We felt very uncomfortable and you can guarantee we will not be back which is a shame because we are in the dells a lot and were interested in some of the items.
