Sound and people were nice, okay you always find some nasty little a..holes who just sneak around looking 4 trouble, who cares. Beside that everything was fine so far, except the long cue in front of the wardrobe which was nasty, the price for drinks (5.00 chf a beer is okay for Zürich but why does water have to cost the same ? does it ease up the calculation), and why can't you buy some snacks inside, we were lucky to find a kebap shop before coming here otherwise we were starved before the main act. What was hard to understand is, why was the balcony which was closest to the stage blocked ? Can just have security reason but was difficult to understand. Result: Depends on the main act, if I visit the location again or not.

This place is right next to my house and I just made there for the first time yesterday…read more I had bought ticket to see the Lumineers, but it was suppose to be in Winterthur, so when they changed the venue so close to home I was very happy. The place is big and we got in fast. We already had our tickets, so don't know how it is if you when it is just a party. But don't think you'll have to wait up much. We did have to wait a bit to leave our cots, but guess that is normal during winter. The drinks where priced as usual and there was also some food, like fries, to get there. For a show it is a nice venue. Spacious, but cosy at the same time. Going out was the hard part. We even left earlier to get our coats, but they didn't really have a system so they kept going around all the jackets until they found ours. I do want to come here one day for a party. Super plus it is really like 5 min from my house! So I'll definitely check it out again!

One enters through the rather spacious bar area which was, for a Saturday night, rather dead. One can't access the bar during show times without also being a guest at the show. -too bad as a tad more people there would have livened the joint up a bit. Having said that, I can't complain about not really having to wait at the bar long before ordering a drink. Apropos drinks: I ordered one beer the whole night, and, thanks to some uber-efficient staff member, was only able to drink about half of it before it disappeared from its perch next to me. -guess I should have chained the darn bottle to my wrist. After reading TN's review I now know that toilets are on another floor at the opposite end of the joint and I am glad I never had to go on the hunt for them. Half a beer consumed does not a full bladder make. Transport: Trams 5 and 13

This place is iconic. The coolest and most social event…read morethey regularly offer is runaround ping-pong, I'm serious! When they tried to abandon it, the people even held small demos, which resulted in a separate ping-pong room. It's the perfect place to getting to know new folks and meeting those you already know. Apart from this, they offer a fanciful drink menu you can have a lot of fun with. Very often they've got live bands/DJs/other events going on. If you're early enough, it's usually free. In summer, they've got a barbecue running, there are pétanque fields and a lot of cosy seats. And I love their wood-burning stove whenever it's cold outside.

Is Wollishofen really a happening place for nightlife?? But we were here for a private party in the club area. Last year, the coat check was self-service and a mess, as I couldn't find my favorite purple scarf in the tangle of coats on the floor when leaving. I even went back the next day to inquire, but it was gone. :'( But this year, there was a guy manning the coat check, handing out proper tags and everything, so massive improvement! I even saw some peeps in the bar area on the other side, so maybe this has become a more happening place. We had a young-looking dj who played decent tunes, but no one was dancing. Maybe it was due to the attendees this year, or maybe it was due to the layout with 3 bar tables in the middle of the room... because last year, all the tables were pushed to the side, and a whole bunch of us got our groove on. So this place could be good for dancing, if you get the right crowd. Although I didn't get my wiggle on last night, it was still fun to hang out with friends for some drinks and chat. :)

The surrounding buildings all looked fairly modern and new, which was kind of surprising, because I had an image of this area being kind of dumpy. The pub had an old-fashioned look with old-style decorations on the wall, but everything seemed clean and new--which I really liked. I guess it's been a while since I've been in a Zürich pub, because I have bad memories of stale cigarette smoke still lingering in other places right after they instilled the indoor smoking ban. This bar is really spacious and has a lot of different kinds of beer on tap. I had two little glasses of Smithwick's, because my fellow Yelpers told me it's difficult to find this Irish beer elsewhere in Zürich. It's a really good-tasting beer, and I would have downed more, except I had to work the next day. I already had dinner before coming, so I couldn't partake in the tasting-looking menu. The fully-loaded nachos and pot pies and fries looked REALLY yummy. There was a guy named Mel who played the guitar and sang, and he was really good as a one-man band. I think he was supposed to stop at one point because there was a soccer game on tv, but due to popular request, he was able to keep on playing. The staff was really nice and spoke English. It was a bit loud to talk comfortably over the live music, but not impossible to have decent conversations. The only downside was that I didn't see any wall hooks to hang up my winter coat. But other than that, I really liked this place.
