Oh I do love a breakfast all day diner like Gus's a great place to meet for giant omelettes and mountains of home style potatoes

We stopping for a late Friday brunch. I opted for the salmon skillet as I usually do. It was delicious and it wasn't swimming in hollandaise sauce and I appreciate that. I had a side of cake that my husband gobbled right down. The service was quick and friendly and even though they were pretty busy we were in and out. I'm so sad my pics were an afterthought as it was presented nicely. Only mishap is they gave my hubs the wrong side but he never complains and just ate it. ‍ read more

This is a great little diner that reminds me of the one in my hometown. The place was loud with the sounds of a busy diner on a weekend morning. The service was quick and efficient. I enjoyed my breakfast as did my dining companions. We had coffee and plenty of creamer. There is not much for a waiting area so if they're busy this is problematic. Other than that, go support them! read more

Terrible customer service, took an act of God to have a server help me. The guy next to me had to point to me to get a server at the counter to help me and then she asked how may I help you and then I said could I please get a menu? I asked for a lemon with my water, never got it. Food is good but overpriced they paid no attention to me never said hello if you're not a local or a regular, don't bother going here. Walking into this 60's-style diner felt like stepping onto the set of a time-travel movie with a very limited budget--chrome everywhere, neon signs humming like they're powered by hope alone, and booths so squeaky they announce your every move like a live studio audience laugh track. Truly immersive. The service was outrageously fast. I'm talking "did they already know my order before I walked in?" fast. Either they're psychic or they've mastered cloning, because plates were hitting the table before my butt even fully committed to sitting. The French toast? Oh, just absolutely terrible--if you hate joy. Crispy, fluffy, delicious... basically a breakfast overachiever trying to show off. I'm still annoyed it set such a high standard for the rest of my life. Now the country fried steak... to die for. Literally. If cholesterol had a spokesperson, it would be this dish. The gravy was so good I questioned every decision I've ever made that didn't involve eating it sooner. I would fight a small crowd for another bite. Maybe a medium crowd. In summary: 10/10. This is a very cool looking diner. The people are nice and service was great. The food was awful. My omelette was burnt. Pancakes were dry. Orange juice was full of pulp, fresh squeezed but nonetheless nasty and served warm. OJ should not cost $6.00 a glass. Sorry but I won't be back. read more

Arrived at 8 am. It wasn't busy yet. We sat down and immediately got asked if we were ready to order. I am not a regular, so I told her I needed to see the menu. The waitress came back like a minute later. I still wasn't ready. This happened quickly a couple more times. We then put in our order. The toast arrived quickly and was put down near my friend so she started eating it. Usually toast comes with your meal so it is warm. When the food came out, I didn't have any toast. Haha! I guess mine was the one my friend started eating. So she brought me some more. I didn't like the jelly packets sitting on top of my toast. Who knows who has touched the packets or where they have been and now they are on top of my toast. The food was okay. The fruit was ripe, but some were rotten. I went to pay with cash, and received more back than I needed as the waitress said they didn't have any change. Very strange!! read more

Huge portions! Sucker for a cliche diner experience. They had non-functioning jute boxes at every booth and the food portions were huge! Felt like we went back in time to the 50's. I ordered the Greek skillet. I looked at the dry shredded cheese on it and told server that I believed it was parmesan not feta. She agreed, took it back and came back with the skillet w/small bowl of shredded cheese and said the cook said that it is feta, it's shredded. I replied that feta is a soft cheese it can't be shredded only crumbled. She asked if I wanted to order something else I declined. The main entrees were ok. The BBQ pork ribs were very tender. My cousin said the BBQ sauce was bad. The fries were either not salted or over salted, or even over sugared. The fried chicken was very crispy and smooth, but I didn't taste a lot of the chicken. The BLT was very good. The toast was very crispy, and the bacon wasn't chewy. But the ketchup was spoiled, and it tasted like vinager! I'd most likely recommend the BLT with mushroom creme soup. The staff was very nice, very talkative, and helped us when we were figuring out if the jukebox worked. The jukeboxes didn't even work, even though this is a 50's diner. But the place really felt like a 50's diner. I'd only recommend going their once, in my opinion. read more

It was pleasant upon entry and being inside. During our first time there, we mentioned it and shortly the lady told us they closed at 9pm. It was 7:30 at the time. When we entered we were gonna be seated to the right, but the employee on that side cleaning did some gestures and we were directed left. Our table had a dirty dish bucket on top of it, and they did not follow up with a wipe. Food was delivered pretty fast and it tasted well. We also got shakes and the shakes are amazing. Definitely would not recommend going past 7pm because they started cleaning up super early. 4/5 employees at the time were very helpful and caring. The one that seated us though, started gloating about how much money she was making compared to everyone. This is the same one that told us they closed at 9pm at 7:30pm. I understand that people wanna go home. But for our first time, I would not want to come back. Maybe in the future earlier in the day when we don't have to hear about how much money an employee is making. read more

Nice to be able to have someone cook for you and serve you once again face to face! Tried the spicy Southwest omelet and the "Stuffed" French toast which was NOT delivered as described in the menu. The cream cheese was NOT stuffed between the two slices of toast but merely drizzled on top.... Suffice to say my omelet was very tasty and the hashbrowns were cooked to perfection. Went to Gus' a week ago for breakfast on Sunday. The place was packed and that much back and forth traffic in that small of a space was not ideal. We were asked if it was ok if we were seated in a corner spot which we didn't mind (less traffic) and then we were promptly helped by our super awesome attentive waitress. I ordered an omelette and the eggs were very bland but the steak and Hollandaise sauce was on point. My date got a scramble and was pleased with it. He also ordered biscuits and gravy and was disappointed in the chopped sausage links as meat in that dish. I got hot tea as well with lots of options to choose from. Overall the service was excellent and I would definitely visit Gus' again! read more

Gus's Diner was a more disappointing than I wished for a awesome looking diner place to be. The food quality of the meals just wasn't very good. When we entered the diner, it has a retro-diner feel to it with juke boxes (non-functional) and cool decorations throughout the place. However, we got seated at a booth by the windows and there was a cold wind drift coming in and the seats were freezing! I didn't know if moving would help so I just sat on my jacket to be a seat warmer. The meal I ordered was lackluster, the pancakes were dry and not very delicious. The eggs too runny, and the bacon was just okay. I ended up leaving more than half on it on the plate cause I just couldn't finish eating it. Service was decent, not bad but not amazing either. Overall, what could have been an awesome experience only was as good as the place it is, go check it out for the retro-diner feel, but I wouldn't really recommend going in for the food. read more
