First time - Check-up Second time - Crown (temporary - waiting on my finished crown to come in). Check-in was painless - they ask you the Covid related questions. You complete forms to make sure your insurance is right. First time - it was pretty quick. Took scans, saw the dentist, and I was out of there. Second time - it was not as quick. They were running an hour behind. I understood because I think there was an emergency. They offered to reschedule me if I did not want to wait. I stuck it out and they performed the work. Dr. Cohen was great. He was all business with me but performed work to get my temporary crown in. The assistant gave me all the background information I needed to take care of myself while I wait for my permanent crown. Looks like no taffy or nuts for me! I wanted to give an updated review because this place received some bad reviews 4 years ago. I did consider the other reviews and thought I would give them a try to see if it was the same. If I was not comfortable, I would have not scheduled my work there after my check-up. All and all it was a good experience (as good as a dentist visit could be). I did have to wait a long period of time on my second visit but understood (covid, emergencies, etc..) I just waited.

Spoke to Dr. D several times about how unhappy I was with the quality of work and even documented everything and gave him my timelines of the events. Said he would work with me, but it kept getting worse. 1st implant fell out within 4 months 2nd double implant with bridge (other side of my mouth) fell out within 14 months Got my medical history mixed up with someone else's Messed up bite guards 3 times (they didn't have records of the original bite guard) Messed up submitting to insurance at least 5 times Lost around 15k for the implants Messed up appointment times Hard to get anyone to call back They don't take insurance anymore but will submit (don't expect them to get it right). The one person kept sending the claim to my old insurance. I had to do it myself. A good friend of mine also had their implants fall out. Cleanings and sedation were great except the last time I had sedation, the anesthetist wouldn't wait for me to talk to the dentist before the work was done. I get anxiety attacks with needles so I wanted to be alert when I talked to the doctor. Not cool. I broke with them cold turkey in 2024. In my opinion, he grew too big too fast. I really had hope they would get better but the stress and anxiety I had with all the issues and losing so much money out of pocket was too much to deal with (approximately $15K). I found a couple wonderful practices that I have used since then (one stopped taking UHC insurance so I had to switch to another). If you chose Dr. D, just document everything. Not that is helps but maybe he will get the message. I wasn't sure if I should write a review but the more I thought about it, I don't want anyone to go through what I did.

DiBartola Dental is devious, deceitful and nefarious and they lie. They tell you that you need work done that you don't need. They promise you something, and swap it out for something cheaper. I have requested copies of my patient records several times, I even payed DiBartola for them, and I still have not received them! Dr. Rairigh's entire staff was courteous and professional, and accommodated our emergency visit. Over three visits in a week's time, Dr. Rairigh expertly corrected a botched procedure from our hometown oral surgeon. He set up a plan to install an implant using some pretty advanced techniques, including a 3D-printed drill guide custom-fit to my wife's teeth. He even took the time to show me the 3D printer in action in his office! (I was even able to get a cleaning during our visit! His hygienist, Laurie, is the best. My teeth felt cleaner than ever, and she was thorough and efficient. She also chatted with me as if we were old friends, calmly distracting me throughout the cleaning. Dr. Rairigh then came in to look at my x-rays and poke around my teeth. I wasn't left waiting in the chair for long at all, and Dr. Rairigh was gentle and informative.) We're setting up our entire family of five with this practice, and cleanings will now be a part of our visits to the area!

I recently went to Pittsburgh Oral Surgery located on Fort Couch Road, Pittsburgh, PA for a tooth…read moreextraction and consultation regarding possible tooth implant. As far as dental office visits go, my recent visit went really well. Although I have been to Pittsburgh Oral Surgery for prior dental work this was my first visit to their Fort Couch Road office. Normally I go to their Monroeville, PA office, rescheduled my appointment because of work related scheduling problems. Arrived approx. 7:00 AM for an 8:30 AM appointment and was warmly greeted and made to feel "right at home." The person working in the office asked me to update my existing on-file information. I asked if there was a place in the building to get a cup of coffee, she promptly offered to make me a cup; it was very good and appreciated. After returning the paper work a short wait ensued and then a dental assistant escorted me back to the place where the procedure would take place. The room was exceptionally clean with a great view out of a large window; all of the furniture and equipment seemed up-to-date and in a good state of repair. Next, I met Dr. Eric Smiga; he greeted me with a great smile and positive demeanor. He explained the upcoming procedure, reviewed my paperwork and x-ray, examined my tooth, discussed the potential implant, injected some painkiller, made sure I was comfortable and said he would return after a few minutes. In the interim, another person came in to explain costs and insurance terms & conditions; a very transparent and upfront process -- no surprises. Shortly thereafter Dr. Smiga returned for the "main event." He gave me an "insurance" injection of painkiller and proceeded to remove the tooth. Before I knew it, the procedure was complete and the dental assistant was explaining post extraction procedures that should be followed. Someone in the office called my prescription (an antibiotic) into my local pharmacy and I was good to go. Before leaving the office, arranged for a 1-week follow-up appointment with Dr. Smiga at their Monroeville office to make sure everything was healing the way it should. Someone, don't remember whom, suggested taking an over the counter pain pill as a proactive defense against pain when the procedure painkiller wore off. No problem had some Tylenol in the car. After arriving at my car, took a pain pill from my backpack and glanced at my watch before heading off to work -- it was 8:20 AM. I was out of there before my appointment was scheduled to start. Follow-up; took one Extra Strength Tylenol three times 6-hours apart after the extraction and have remained pain free, no issues. Had my follow-up visit this morning -- no problems, everything looks good. I don't think anyone looks forward to going to the dentist, but from beginning to end, Pittsburgh Oral Surgery made this a very positive experience.
