Just wanted to update how pleased we are with Song Bird Studio and Kaila our sons teacher…read more Kaila is wonderful. She has been kind, flexible and understanding and is truly a great teacher in every sense. The Studio has moved up the street since my last review and we also attended the annual recital first time since Covid, so I should mention how nice that was! It showcased all the students (piano and voice) and I enjoyed hearing all the performances, as did my family. I Highly recommended them if you are looking for music lessons, give them a try!

Bob is encouraging, knowledgeable, and is instrumental (pun intended) to my son's progression! When I was a kid we learned hot cross buns on the piano and it was not fun. This place and its amazing teachers like Bob W make music fun to learn for the kids. A+!

I can't speak for the particular classes here, but I happened upon a random parking lot concert the…read moreother day that made me realize I've been connected to School of Rock for years. School of Rock is truly a community institution. Yes, there are a host of these schools around the country, but in Highwood this school has done an incredible job of promoting itself locally. Present at most of the festivals, local farmers markets, and other public events I've been to, the students that take lessons here get numerous opportunities to perform publicly. Maggie, the current director, has done a great job of sharing this young talent with the local community. I have a background in the performing arts. I started performing on stage as a young kid, and I know there is nothing more important than getting out and practicing your talent at a young age. Either you take to it or you don't, but I know the students at this school get many chances to find out if music will be in their future. Way to go School of Rock and your team for exposing me to so many of your concerts and young performers over the years. Now, if only I could get my kiddos to pick up their guitars, get over their stage fright, and help make an impact on the musical community ;-)

Being a professional interpreter, voice is extremely important for me and finding my full voice potential is one of the professional challenges. Discovering my voice with Alvaro is turning out into an amazing professional revelation. He is very patient, very tactful pointing out mistakes and inaccuracies, at the same time he knows exactly in what direction he's leading me even though I may not understand it myself at the time. His professional manner, way of presenting things are very impressive. I very highly recommend Alvaro voice and vocal lessons.

They're always striving to provide the best musical education they can, and their passion and care for the musical community they've built was an honor to contribute to. I've also always been super impressed with the quality of their cellos that my students have rented from them, especially the amount of resonance they produce. It's rare to be able to have quality sounding instruments available for beginner students, and in all the years I've been teaching cello, I've never had students with consistently well set up instruments until I started working at Solo Classic. I highly recommend renting instruments and signing up for lessons with them.

I grew up very self conscious with a severe speech impediment, and Sarah instilled confidence and self assurance when I didn't even know I had any. I owe a lot to her for this, and I urge anyone reading this who is considering voice lessons of any kind to go and see Sarah, you will not be disappointed. Everyone else is just second rate, period.
