The test was thorough and involved a interview style questionnaire to get to know the patient and hearing issues, asked probing questions to determine the cause of hearing loss followed by testing both ears for sound and words in a sound booth. After the test the audiologist explained results, what they mean, and options for hearings aids. They also specialize in custom style hearing aids but that was for a future visit. I can hear most men just fine. I was very concerned aboit people being able to see them and think less of me. Do I delayed and delayed. Dr Bette court referred me to Dr MK Larson. Dr Larson fitted me with inner ear hearing aids that no one can see unless they were looking for them in my ears. I haven't ever seen anyone notice I'm wearing them. They are tiny. There is no phone app as they are too small for that. But they work great. However all sounds are amplified including background. When there is a lot of background noise I cannot search out a spoken voice and I still have trouble hearing. Because it's all too much noise. However in most normal situations they are great shave live my hearing aids. They are very comfortable as they take a mold of your inner ear and customer make them. They are expensive. I'm a very satisfied customer and no longer stressing about having to wear them. I take them out when sleeping or near water like bathing or swimming.

I was referred to Andersen by my P.CP. after I had voiced concerns about my hearing. I had to call…read morethe office numerous times and days to actually talk to a live person. The recording says that due to high call volume it may take 48 hours to get a callback. I waited 2 months for my appointment once I was able to talk to a live person. It's a tiny office off of 21st Street. It was not busy when I arrived. There was one receptionist working. I filled out my paperwork and was called back within five minutes. Mr. Andersen didn't ask me any background questions or try to understand what kind of trouble I was having. He didn't do a physical exam of my ears. He just told me to step into the booth which was not soundproof. I could hear the secretary in the other room. Even after he had closed the door. He placed some very old looking headphones on me. He stepped out of the booth and instructed me to signal to him through the glass window when I heard a sound. He tested different sounds and tones at various frequencies. He then assessed my word recognition and that was the end of the test~ 5 minutes total. He came into the booth and said my hearing was in normal range. I took a brief glance at the paperwork that he held up and then he walked away. He said he would forward the results to my P.C.P. I even googled "what to expect during an audiogram" and what I experienced definitely wasn't thorough, informative, or helpful.

He always comes into the exam room with a smile, takes time to ask how life is going, listens carefully to my concerns, and works to identify the cause of any health issues I'm experiencing. If additional testing is needed to reach a diagnosis, he doesn't hesitate to order it. I've always felt heard, respected, and well cared for. I also want to recognize his current PA, Erika. She is wonderful--she listens, addresses my concerns thoroughly, and never makes me feel rushed. Every appointment I've had with her has been a positive experience. As for the office staff, I can only speak from my own experience, and it has always been excellent. The front office receptionist is welcoming and professional, and the back office staff, including Pam, Melissa, and Clarissa, are consistently friendly, kind, and genuinely caring. They always greet me with a smile and make each visit pleasant. My husband and our adult children have also been patients of Dr. Sorensen for many years, and we have all had positive experiences with both Dr. Sorensen and Erika. Sorenson himself is NEVER in office. Getting an appointment with him takes weeks. I have even had words with some of his staff. They will refuse to give you your records no matter why you need them. They will change your dosage of medication without asking or consulting the doctor that originally prescribed it. His office manager is probably the rudest woman on this earth, very condescending but refuses to show her face in the office. There are only a couple nurses/desk ladies who are genuinely attentive and kind, but sadly they do not make up for the rest, who would rather spend their time chatting. Seriously, find a different GP.
