Having eaten in the restaurant and picked up a takeaway on many occasions, I cannot recommend the Jaipur highly enough! The staff are friendly and helpful, and are all too happy to explain some of the more unusual dishes. The menu is comprehensive, with a good blend of old favourites and new specials. Starters can be shared or individual; the garlic mushrooms with spiced potato cakes are particularly moreish! Main courses are generous in proportion, without being huge, but its the flavour of the dishes that will blow you away! The blending of the spices are just right, even a standard korma is full of flavour, while the more fiery dishes like jalfrezi will liven your palette with exotic spices! If you can fit in a dessert, there's the standard selection, including the traditional Kulfi. Takeaways are pick up only and are usually ready within 20-30 minutes. They are of restaurant quality and best of all there is a 15% discount on takeaways! The tables vary in size and are able to cope with all sizes of party, but our favourites are the spacious round tables, which are more social! The walls are adorned with murals and tree ferns pervade the dining area which adds to the ambiance. Menu wise, there is such a wide variety that it becomes almost impossible to choose. Obviously starting with poppadoms and pickle tray, then I went for a King Prawn Puri, very flavoursome, generously portioned and decorated with a sweet mango sauce around the edge, a nice touch. Mains wise between us we had some traditional dishes, - Tandoori Mixed Grill, Chicken Bhuna and I had their special Biryani. All good dishes, but the prices are approaching the expensive side, with the Biryani being just shy of £13. With accompaniments like naans, Parathas etc, this can take meals close to £25+ a head with drinks.
