Unfortunately, we couldn't have a fire due to fire restrictions. However, we were able to bring our own gas-powered fire pit. I'm glad my husband checked the website a few days prior to our reservation, otherwise we wouldn't have known. It would be nice to get informed by email if you have a reservation about fire restrictions, because if we didn't bring our blackstone to make our food, I would have been very upset. Before arriving, I did some research on the black bear shack that our friends told us about, but sadly found out they are not at this campground anymore. The road coming in is extremely bumpy and rough. When leaving the campground, I recommend going left instead of right. Our cars needed a very good car wash after! The campground is very beautiful. The weather was perfect; in the 50s at night and high 70s in the afternoon. I would definitely camp here again.

Even in the sounds of the creek, there are words of life. Hiking, firing a bbq or just being still is meditation to my heart and revives the soul.

My girlfriend…read moreand I came here the week after the November 2020 elections to get away from everything, on a week that could only be described as "unseasonably cold." It's a beautiful little campground just about 15 minutes away from Uptown Sedona and alongside Oak Creek. We started out with two nights at the site furthest to the right upon entrance, and that backs up to a little pool and cliff. We had some fairly rowdy neighbors who were constantly breaking the rules and seem to have been ejected early, which was greatly appreciated, because rules are important, especially when they are mainly instated to enforce common courtesy to everyone else. The site has only 19 spots, with the majority of them hugging the creek. The others are sort of in the middle of the loop-street and lack views, immediate water-access, and privacy, as they're right out in the middle and cars drive around them. Our last two nights we moved to Site 19, which was perfect. The campsite is small enough so that proximity to the camp host/firewood, and the bathrooms is not an issue, and our spot was furthest from the entrance, and therefore was the most private/secluded. Each spot has a pretty flat spot, usually with partial shade for the tent, a firepit, and a heavy duty picnic table. There are trout in the river, and I hooked one up behind our first spot where there is a wonderfully clear and deep pool, as well as a little cliff that's fun to climb up and around. Dennis, one of the camp hosts, pointed out that there were 6-8 visible trout in the small pool behind Site 10 and so we rushed over there, and he watched us attempt unsuccessfully to lure out the fish, and then came over with a chunk of Velveeta cheese, which he said he always had luck with. We would return to this spot for the next few days and eventually hooked up a few trout, which was great. Everything about this site is great, and I'm just the slightest bit hesitant about raving too highly lest it becomes more difficult to reserve in the future. Great location, great hosts, an extremely clean vault bathroom that smells of Febreeze, a creek full of fish, firewood for sale, and camp hosts that keep the place in amazing condition. 5/5. Would recommend. Would like to return soon.

Phenomenal fishing for the kids in the lagoons 4. The little cabins are a must for families! Will be on our regular rotation now. Pro tip: if staying in the cabins, there is only one wall outlet inside. Bring an electric water kettle to heat up water for ramen, coffee, cider, oatmeal, and for doing a quick rinse of any cooking pans and utensils. We would died without our hot water kettle. I have lost count as to how many times I have passed by this beautiful, well-maintained area without camping here, but this will no longer be the case. We stayed two nights here (June 7-8, 2016) and it wasn't enough during our weeklong trip. Dry camping only - tents, trailers, & RVs. No hook-ups. Just you, your posse, your home away from home. We found that the pull-through sites were not our style. The back-in sites were more level and seemed to have a better feel. If you end up with a pull-through site, though, you will still be a happy camper. It's mostly relatively quiet here. You can still kind of hear the I-40 and trains off in the distance. Otherwise, it's very peaceful. The campground hosts are really friendly and helpful. They sell firewood, ice cream, fishing bait and ice at their check-in area. PROS - vault toilets (but they actually smell nice & toilet paper is provided!) - paved roads & graveled sites - each site also has a fire ring with a grill & a picnic table - leashed pets are allowed - garbage AND recycle bins are nearby CONS - closed from October to April due to weather - no utilities or dump station (and please don't dump your grey water onto the ground!) - no running water except the potable water spigots (for drinking only... FYI... the lake is a water source for the City of Williams) TIPS - reserve your site online at recreation.gov - day use areas are by the lake - fishing is allowed - for license info. go to https://www.azgfd.com/ - daytime average temp. = 82°F & night time = 54°F. HOWEVER, these fluctuate. Be prepared. The pine trees smell amazing here. Or perhaps I had been inhaling the L.A. smog a bit too much - ha! The twinkling stars at night are a breath of fresh air too. The funny little Kaibab squirrels who to my surprise really didn't bother us... They are pretty flippin' smart. So fast. Too fast for cameras. Stay here at least one night if you get the chance! Tall trees and Sedona's red rock cliffs make the drive so pretty and scenic. Pine Flat Campground has around 45 campsites. Half of them can be reserved online ahead of time. This campground is great for both families and animals. Oak Creek is right next to it and is usually stocked with trout. One of things I love about this place is waking up in the mornings to the huge canyon slopes that surround the campsite and the sound of flowing water from the creek. Pine Flat Campground has outhouses, fire rings, cement tables, and running water. The camp hosts have always been great and accommodating when I have camped here. If you are looking for activities, popular West Fork Trail is just a few miles away for hiking. You can drive a little bit more south and find Slide Rock State Park. It is one of the nation's best swimming holes. There are also a few convenience stores nearby if you are in need of supplies. I would say the only bad thing is the campground is located right off the 89A. The noise from the cars driving by can be a little annoying at night.

Way too peaceful…read more Honestly not what I expected from Sedona. No crowds, no noise, no parking fee. There's a natural spring spigot right by the site with ice-cold water, which is annoying because now bottled water tastes like garbage. The pines blocked the sun all afternoon so forget about a tan. A couple of skunks and some ravens hosted a food fight with our own trash. To add insult to injury, they didn't even stick around to clean it up. Night was so dark I needed a headlamp to see my own hand, and the stars were so thick I got a neck cramp from looking up. One bar of service so I had to actually talk to my family. Stay at a hotel with a parking lot view instead.

Picnic table was in the sun most of the day so would recommend pop up gazebo or umbrella in the summer. Plenty of room to post up around the fire pit! Key amenities: Bathrooms close by. Multiple bathrooms around campgrounds. Each one has a potable water station outside! Firewood and Ice for sale (can pay with card but easier with cash!) Trail directly to the lake! Tips: Bring hand soap (hand sanitizer only at the bathroom). Only 2 cars per site and hosts come by at night to pick up the $10 payment for the second vehicle (card acceptable!) They have 2 trails connected to the campsite. One that is .5miles goes under the road to the lake, and one that is 1mile and goes up the mountain for the lake views. The campsite director did mention there are ravens so you do need to hide your food if you're going to be away. There were some ants, my dog did get bit up by some sort of bugs on her stomach. It's quiet and rules are enforced, which makes it a safe and comfortable place to stay. The campsites are fairly large and spread out and paths can be found to a nearby lake. There are stone picnic tables and fire pits. Roads are paved and great for kids to play in large forest trees and pine needle grounds. Will look forward to staying as much as possible. Toilets and showers available too!
