Having quite a bit of firearm experience I was skeptical that it was going to be geared for people who had never shot before and be super restricted. Our host and safety officer was Mikey. Really nice guy and a fellow veteran. He did a great job of balancing range safety and the firearm experience of the guest. He was knowledgeable in the safe operation of the weapons and made the experience fun and safe without being over restricted. I recommend Battlefield Vegas to experienced and new shooters alike. If you have never fired a gun before this is a must while in Vegas, they really let you enjoy the experience while keeping it very safe!

You go in expecting a real shooting-range experience, but that is not what it feels like. An employee is assigned to you and does nearly everything: loads the rounds into the magazines, inserts and reloads the magazines, handles the weapon, and rushes you through the process. The only thing left for you to do is pull the trigger. You can clearly feel the pressure to fire your rounds quickly so they can move on to the next tourists. Our group of five paid about $500 total for two weapons per person, with only around 5-10 rounds per weapon. The entire experience was over in under 10 minutes. My advice: find a real indoor shooting range instead. You'll get far more time, freedom, and value for your money. Don't waste your time or money here.

When I went in to get the gun after getting a proceed, she released it to another person who was also doing a transfer. Big difference from the pistol I was getting, a LTT Langdon PX4, and the pistol the otheran was a getting, a smith 2.0. Thank goodness the guy brought the gun back and everything was good I purchased a plain sig 226 and it was sent to Discount Firearms. It has been there for 10 days and no call. I went in and was told there were guns in the back and no one was processing these in until the managers came back into town. Really. WTF!!! I did not realize no guns were moving or at least my guns were not moving. I guess they just do not care or do not have enough people to work the floor and work the back. So the next new gun I will purchase will not be from them, too many problems. Guns purchased through Gunbroker have a 3bor 5 day period to accept the gun or not. Those times have elaspsed. Live and learn.

I had a very uncomfortable and disrespectful experience at Discount Firearms & Ammo…read more I walked in genuinely interested in purchasing a firearm for personal protection and presented my valid Nevada Real ID. Before anyone even asked what firearm I was interested in or explained the purchasing process, an employee wearing a cap immediately focused on my immigration documentation after hearing my Spanish accent. I placed my Real ID on the counter, but he would not even take or examine it and told me to put it back. Another employee, a man with a very long beard reaching down toward his stomach, then became involved. His tone was loud, confrontational, and disrespectful. At one point he asked whether I was Mexican simply because I spoke Spanish. I told him that speaking Spanish does not mean I am from Mexico and explained that I am from Costa Rica. I understand that federal and Nevada firearm laws may require permanent residents to provide additional immigration information or documentation during an actual firearm transfer. That was not my problem. My problem was the way I was treated. No one calmly explained the requirement. No one even took the time to look at my Real ID, show me a firearm, discuss what I was looking for, or simply say, "You can look today, and when you return with the additional document we can complete the transaction." Instead, the interaction became unnecessarily hostile. Based on the way the conversation changed immediately after they heard my accent and the questions directed at me about being Mexican, I personally felt racially/ethnically profiled. I have rarely experienced this kind of treatment in a business. A firearms store has every right and responsibility to follow the law. Customers also deserve to be treated professionally and respectfully while those requirements are being explained. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

It's about a 45-minute drive from where I live and, despite not having to worry about driving long distances because I have an electric car, I wanted to wait until the weather cooled down a bit. They practice on Saturday's from 8:00am-10:00am. My GPS told me to pull into a parking lot at the complex, but since this was my first time here, I wasn't sure if I was in the correct place. Then I realized I had to drive a little further up to get to the actual building to get all checked in. My friend had told me in advance that I would have to sign a waiver and watch a safety video first before getting started. After watching the safety video and signing all the necessary paperwork, the lady that helped me handed me a brochure and instructed me on where to go to get to the archery range. The archery range, separate from the shooting (pistol/rifle) range, is located further down in the complex, where you turn onto a small road from the parking lot to get to it. This is a supervised range, and you will need to check in and show your pass and punch card each and every time before you shoot. I was not given a punch card during my first time here, so I had to show my receipt as an alternative. It was a very nice day to shoot some arrows, although it started getting a little windy as time went on. I've been practicing archery on and off for the past couple of years and I had a lot of fun here and enjoyed the great outdoors. I'm looking forward to coming back here on Saturday mornings!

My Friend and I did a Thursday night lesson to do something different for girls night. Upon arriving, since it was our first time we were asked to watch a safety video and sign waivers prior to starting. If you come during the day there was a little cafe to get food and drinks if you were planning on spending the day out there. The range is outdoors and the weather was perfect. When we first arrived it was not super busy. There are about 12 spots for the beginners to shoot from. For $15, we were able to shoot as much as we wanted from 6:30-8:30 which I thought was a great price especially since it included rental equipment. The staff were super friendly and helpful with suggesting tweaks to aim/shoot better. Over time, more people arrived and the staff gave the option for those who had gotten comfortable shooting at the closest range if they were interested in trying a farther target to make space. Although the crowd was larger, it never felt overcrowded and we never had to wait on a lane to be open. We're already making plans to bring our husbands back to try it out too, so it's safe to say we enjoyed it!

The check in process was quick and easy. Check in is done through an iPad. The ladies at the front help you if you need it. Instructors are provided to guide you into the shooting range. The instructors were very friendly and explained things clearly. We did the hat trick package, which basically lets you fire a handgun, assault rifle (fully automatic), and a sniper type rifle. Nice package if you want to try out the typical type of guns. The experience isn't long, but with the three people taking turns and if you take your time firing, it'll be about 30 minutes. You can always add more ammo if you want. Overall it's a great first time experience for those who have never shot a firearm. They'll definitely enjoy the experience.
