The highlights for us were probably the gorditas, which were in a deep fried thick tortilla, and the buñuelos (fried dough kind of like a cookie shaped like a wheel) which were very crispy and flavorful. Also, all of the meats were great, and the salsas were all different and flavorful with a nice kick of spice. Service was also excellent. It took me some time to pick out what I wanted but they were very patient and helpful.

If you're craving something more on the savory side, they also sell an assortment of chips and corn to be prepared to your liking (prepared as in served with salsa, limon, etc. etc.). My mom and I passed by in their opening weekend so the line was to the door! Regardless, we were attended to promptly. If you're there for some paletas, you can take your pickings from the wall of freezers and then proceed to pay. For all other menu items, you have to wait in line to be attended to by the next available worker. Items were reasonably prices and super tasty and refreshing especially for this hot summer weather. This location can be found in one of the strip malls in front of the H-E-B gas station on Villa Maria. There's plenty of parking in front of the store, if not there then in the adjacent strip mall's parking lot. Language barriers are non existent as the workers speak both English and Spanish. She recommended Karma Kolache to us for breakfast on the way home, saying they make really good kolaches. We took her up on that recommendation and stopped by to get some food. Walking in, you notice the variety of kolaches and other sumptuous creations behind the crystal clear glass barrier. I had a hard time making a selection of treats and ended up going with the spicy boudin kolache and the breakfast croissant sandwich with bacon. Now, I am a lover of most things spicy, but the spiciness of the boudin was underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, the boudin had good flavor, texture and hit the right notes a well made boudin filling should have, just not enough spiciness for my palate. The bread wrapping it up was soft, mildly sweet and had a very nice mouth feel. I liked it very much and gobbled it down. After that morsel was scarfed, I tucked into the bacon, egg and cheese croissant sammie. The croissant was flaky and buttery like a proper croissant should be, but what really surprised me was the bacon. Crispy and sweet. Maple or honey made it a great foil against the creamy flavor of the croissant. To be sure it wasn't the croissant carrying that sweet, I picked some bread off and ate it then did the same with the bacon. For certain, that sweet was the bacon. The egg and cheese were there for texture and complimented the bacon and croissant nicely. While the prices were not too high, around the same prices as comparative items at The Kolache Factory, but the quality is at a higher level. Portion size is another Factory beater. The sandwich could be enough to make a meal off of if your appetite is average, unlike mine. Additionally, it appears their tortillas are made in house. They were good, but the flour tortillas smelled and tasted like corn tortillas! The two types of tortillas are probably pre-prepared and stored in a heater together there. Because of this, there was a corn taste in their flour tortillas. Overall, the food was okay enough. They really should add more seasoning and change it up! We were disappointed the two different plates used the exact same bland seasoning (that wasn't that great). The overall ambiance of the place also seemed well. They have light musics playing in the background and soccer games playing on the TVS.
