Gumbo Limbo Trail is located in Everglades National Park next to the Royal Palm Visitor Center adjacent to Anhinga Trail and is four miles from the Homestead entrance way. It's a his self-guiding, paved trail that meanders through a shaded, jungle-like hammock of gumbo limbo trees, royal palms, ferns, and air plants approximately a half mile in length and is also sometimes referred to as Paradise Hammock.

Everglade mosquitoes are relentless and could care less about whatever repellent or spray you might use with the only recourse being to cover yourself with protective netting. read more
