I had a fantastic experience with this company today. I contacted them through Sherwood Park Garage Doors and was a bit surprised to find out they were Gulliver Garage Doors when they arrived. I found out my garage door was broken at 10 a.m. today. I contacted Gulliver, was able to get a time, and had my door completely fixed and paid for by 12:45. Suffice it to say, I was impressed with the speed of their work. They sent out their technician, Ben, who was professional, humorous, and incredibly helpful. On the phone, I had told them that one of my cables had broken, but I have no knowledge about garage doors and could only go off of what I saw. They quoted me 29 dollars to have the door looked at, which would be waived if I used their services, and the receptionist said that if all that needed to be done was the cables that it would be roughly 100-150 dollars, which is the same price other companies quoted me. Ben arrived and assessed the door, letting me know that the cable needed to be replaced and also showed me that the frame was bent and some of the hinges were noticeably destroyed. He told me precisely what he was going to do and why, then proceeded to get to work. All in all, Ben moved some hinges that had their bolts broken, replaced others, replaced the cables, fixed the bent frame, did a safety check, and performed maintenance in terms of lubrication and tightening on the entire door and system, and it cost me 315. For all the work that had to be done, I felt this was a fair price. It is entirely possible that other companies would have charged less, maybe some would have charged more, but the other companies I had called were unable to come out today. Also, no company should be expected to be able to provide me an exact quote over the phone, they need to be able to assess the damage first. Ben told me expectations for my door over the next few years and gave me their business card. I appreciate that there was no attempt at selling me products or services that I did not need. I will be happy to use their services again in the future. If I had any comment on potential ways to improve, it would be just better organization of their invoice. The cost was a single lump sum instead of breaking down where the total cost came from. However, Ben explained everything to me well enough that even as a lump sum, the cost made sense and was not a shock. read more

A few days ago my garage door broke. it was late at night and all company was already closed considering their advertisements saying 24 hours emergency service. I stumble across Gulliver Garage Door and immediately they were able to send a guy right away his name was Ben. I had numerous amount of people and company fix my door before but after being able to talk to Ben non of them even compare to how polite, knowledgeable, understanding and reasonable he is. Considering how many thing needed to be replaced, he was able to find me the most reasonable solution until I am able to afford being able to replace my opener and get a shaft conversion. He was able to educate me, answer all my questions and tell me everything that I need to know and made my door work. That was just the perfect Christmas present from a stranger. Being able to have a working door without breaking the bank specially just before Christmas. Before writing this comment, I've also notice how many bad reviews they have in this site however one common thing was it seems like this company did not have Ben at the time and now he is seriously changing the course of where this company is headed for the better. I wouldn't be able to say how their other techs are because I've only had one experience with them and it was an amazing one. I will recommend that people ask for Ben specifically when booking an appointment with Gulliver Garage Door. I do not think you'll be disappointed with his service. read more

Called this company after not receiving a call back from one of the major door companies. The lady was very informative, first asking if this was an emergency (it was not), then she explained there would be a $29.95 (very reasonable as I live out in Ardrosssan), charge for a call-out and estimate, which would not be charged if we had the work done. She said she would call me back with an appointment time for the technician to come out. Within the hour, she phoned to say they would be out the same day between 6 and 8 pm. At around 5.00pm I received a call from them to say he was on his way. When he arrived he explained what the charge would be (my main spring had broken), breaking down the labour and part charge. He inspected the cables and said they were fine so no need to replace those, told me to watch the spring on my other door, as it was the same age as the broken one (25 years), but don't worry about it until something happens. He never tried to upsell anything to me. Him and his partner worked very well and efficiently, and everything was done within 45 minutes. I can definitely recommend this company. read more

I read a previous comment about Ben (Bayani) that it must be he is the one who is changing the face of the company. I also highly recommend Ben. He called in advance, showed up on time, explained the issue with my garage door, informed about the fees, and replaced the broken spring by 10:30 am! I was so stressed out at that time: I was heading to my work at 8:00 am when I found out that the garage door would not open, locking both my cars inside. I called a number of so called "24 h service emergency" companies, but the first available appointment was in 2 days! Not acceptable! Than Gulliver called back and offered a service within an hour! Previously used this company to fix garage door springs which was completed quickly and at industry equivalent costs. Required a recent realignment of garage door and removal of a metal bracket that caused the misalignment and they presented on same day, fixed the issue in under 30 minutes and waived fees as a return customer. This is the kind of business practice that will keep me calling and recommending gulliver. read more

Gulliver has maintained my garage door for 3 years now. They replaced the garage door spring several months ago. Yesterday it broke again. Gulliver responded quickly to my problem even though it was a stat holiday. They honored the warranty on the spring, and replaced it free of charge (even the labor). As usual, the technician was polite, neat, thorough and speedy. I would highly recommend Gulliver. read more

We had two great experiences, both with Vitaly as the service technician. The first time was for replacing broken tension springs, which was done quickly and effectively in the middle of the winter. The second time was a minor issue with sensor wires, and Vitaly diagnosed and fixed the problem within a couple of minutes! Would highly recommend. read more
