He has many nice things, but not as much room going forward. The volunteers who take in the donations are pleasant and welcoming. Recently I needed a belt went inside the store for the first time--what a nicely laid out space! I found a nice belt for a reasonable price and came away very impressed with the merchandise, the organization, and the friendly volunteer personnel.

I'd seen their ribbon cutting/opening promotion on line and bookmarked them to stop by when next in the area. Right now, they have a lot of clothing. And a nice rack with a 50 percent discount/off. Plus there are daily specials (see photo). In addition to clothes, there's a little bit of artwork, a small amount of furniture and household stuff, and a few pieces of jewelry. I tried to find something to buy without luck. Quite a few items are not marked. I think they should correct this to make everyone feel more comfortable that the price is consistent to all buyers. My husband did find a few ties he liked and purchased them. We are glad we stopped by. Now we know.

They meet every Saturday at United Methodist Church, in East Boca Raton from 9AM-11:30AM. Changing Lives prepares and distributes food, drinks, clothes, reading glasses, toiletries and other items to those in need. To fund their mission, Changing Lives operates this thrift store in Boca Raton on Dixie Hwy. All proceeds from this store go to helping the homeless. I enjoyed shopping their large selection of clothes. They also had a few other things like furniture, books, jewelry, and household goods. Follow them on Facebook to see what is new. I finally had a few hours off from school one day and I noticed as I drove by that there were some signs out and bingo I finally hit them while they were open. Once you park just look for the purple door which is the entrance to the shop. The thrift store is part of the Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran Church and School which has a long history in the North Ft. Lauderdale area. The church opened in the early 1960's, and now they have a thriving church, K-8 school and an early childhood center. Their mission "is to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our local community by providing opportunities for individuals to Learn about God's Love and in turn Live out that Love." Proceeds from the thrift store help to fund the church ministries. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the sweetest ladies. They were having a sale and anything that was priced over $1 was half off. Everything in the store was inexpensive anyway and with the additional sale they were practically giving it away. The thrift store is one room but they had it packed with a little bit of everything including books, clothes, games, collectibles, dishes, shoes, accessories, lamps, linens, baskets and more. There was even a wedding dress. There was a beautiful set of green dishes complete with glasses. It was a bit of a treasure hunt to try and see everything they had. With the inexpensive prices this thrift store is ideal for anyone starting out or starting over. Or maybe you will luck out and find that certain something you have been missing. Even if you don't it is always fun to look.
