There is absolutely nothing glamorous about Citgo, which is one of several gas stations along this…read morestretch of Queens Blvd where LIC meets Sunnyside. The first reaction for a place like this might be a low rating given the subpar customer service, but I am giving 3 stars specifically for: * The carwash - How many stations actually have this as an option in the nearby vicinity? The answer: None. They have enough space to afford several cards to line up without issue. It's not the best wash I've seen, but it definitely does the job. * The deals - Nothing in NY is considered cheap, but there are some days where they've even surprised me over the full service gas station that is just down the street. Pay in cash and it will always be the lowest price. * Availability - I've seen other gas station slammed with people, but they always seem to have pumps open. Whenever one needs to get gas and in a hurry, this has actually been more of a clutch than it. The onsite convenience store is a pretty subpar alternative to the many bodegas around the neighborhood. The only advantage is that this place is open 24/7, which can never be seen as a bad thing.

John is in charge, but all three guys have been willing to discuss options for repairs, have been up front about costs, and have been willing to explain any question I've had. Every time I get a repair done here I usually check around with coworkers to see what they've paid for similar services and I've been surprised to find that this place has consistently charged me less than what most people expect. I'm going to say that they're an straightforward business, at least as far as car mechanics go. I will say however that I've seen other customers act rudely and I've gotten the definite impression that acting rudely will get you a bigger bill and a disappointing experience. I'm not a car person, but this place is not super pushy, will get your car repaired in a timely manner, and will call you to get you updates on progress. I like it. It's also close to the 7 train, so pickup and drop off are pretty easy. I usually come for service, not for gas so I can't speak to pricing. All that said, cars are expensive and repairs are worse. You're never going to walk out of a repair shop happy.

It is a great…read moreresource for people north of Queensboro Plaza and south of Astoria in the "Dutch Kills" area where, as everyone who lives here knows, there are not enough grocery options. To find better options without getting anything delivered, you almost have to hop on the subway. I'm a regular here, and the guys working there tend to recognize me and give me little discounts every now and then, especially late at night. The gas station came to mind tonight because I was discussing it with people I met at the Elite Yelp event at Alobar. It is such a strange and wonderful place, so much more than just a gas station, where you never know what you will find. In addition to the obvious things like gas, Lotto, sodas, energy drinks, candy, and cigarettes, the Mobil station is jammed to the gills with all manner of random items. Hopefully the odd juxtapositions of this list will impart the multi-cultural, little-bit-of-everything vibe: * Baklava * Craft beer * Frozen whole turkeys * Mangoes * Saran-wrapped corn cobs * "Sex milkshakes" and "sex energy drink" * Mouse glue traps * Samosas * Salad bar * Toilet bowl cleaner * Monkey wrenches * Hard-boiled eggs * Detergent * Bargain DVDs * Watermelons * German chocolate bars * Pita bread Come check it out if you're ever in my nabe! You will never run out of new snacks to try.

Nevertheless it was 6am in Long Island & this was the only place close by with toiletries, combs, razors, etc for a normal price. There were no brushes, but they had a perm applicator brush. Anyway, they have mostly what you may have left/forgotten or are just simply waiting to be returned. Thanks so much because I really had somewhere important to be before the markets opened.
