We drove from St. Louis, MO to Lake Martin in AL to pick up our new to us Cobalt. The kicker was…read morethat it did not have a trailer. The search for a trailer to fit our boat became priority numero uno. Now, the question: to buy one in MO and trailer it the 9 hrs down to Lake Martin or find a trailer along the way? I started to call around for price and availability. If the price was right, the availability wasn't or vice versa. Ok...Rambo Marine in Westover appears to be a Cobalt dealer. I get Zach on the phone: Zach: "yea, we got one that will fit that boat." Me: "For a 2015 Cobalt R5?" Zach: "Yea! I believe it's a XXX##### model. We got one that should fit it just fine. It's about [price]" Me: "I'll see you in 2 weeks!" In those two weeks Zach was patient with and responsive to my questions and my bank's needs (which was a lot). When we arrived on a Friday morning, there the trailer was in the parking lot. Ready to go. There was Zach...putting on the guide posts. We talk, complete some paperwork, I buy a trailer light adapter and an "O" for my missing "O" in COBALT one one side of the boat, and we're on our way to Lake Martin. While the lake marina was nice and put the boat on the trailer for us, the fit on the bow stop was not quite right and I didn't have a deep enough 3/4" socket to fix the issue. So, here we go reaching back out to Zach: Me: [texts photo] "Here's our situation." Zach: "Bring 'er back on up here, we'll fix it." Me: "On our way!" Bada-bing-bada-bang-bada-boom...FIXED. boat sits on the trailer like a glove. Because we were staying in a hotel, I asked Zach if we could possibly leave our boat on their lot and pick it up the next morning before our drive back. "I don't see a problem with that." Really? Cool! So, we leave the boat on the trailer behind a locked gate. Longer story short...Zach and all the folks at Rambo were amazing. They are personable, extroverted, ready to help, and/or just talk boats. If we lived in AL, these are the people who would earn my regular business. Check these guys out! I came to the dealership to look at a particular car that had just been traded in. I was assigned…read moresalesman Rob Hurt, and he was incredibly helpful and patient as I explored not only that vehicle but several others on the lot. Before leaving that first visit, I test drove a vehicle that I really liked. Rob explained that I could place a $300 refundable deposit to hold the car while I finalized the insurance and financing details related to my totaled vehicle. Since the deposit was refundable, there was no risk, so I decided to put it down before leaving. Over the next several days, I made a few visits to the dealership to make sure it was truly the right vehicle for me. I even brought my son back so he could test drive it and give it another look. Rob was very patient and accommodating through the entire process. There was one visit where I became quite frustrated and was honestly tempted to walk out. I was simply trying to keep the car on hold and needed to leave so I could get my son home to study for an exam. However, either Mr. Hurt or his manager, Shomari, kept attempting to run my credit and finance the vehicle through their system even after I explained that I would be securing financing through my credit union. That part of the experience felt unnecessarily pressured, and I did express my frustration to Rob. One interesting feature of the process was their high tech system where you go into a private room and complete a virtual meeting to review warranty options and sign paperwork electronically. That was actually a pretty neat and modern experience. During the process, I received an email from Service Director Mr. Bowlin asking how everything was going. I replied honestly and explained the frustration from my most recent visit, but unfortunately I never received a response. I was eventually able to finalize the deal and complete the purchase. Rob was wonderful throughout the entire process, and I truly do not believe he was the one pushing to run my financing through their banks. That was simply the impression I got. Within a week of purchasing the vehicle, the car alerted me that it needed an oil change. I reached out to Rob to ask if the dealership might take care of that in good faith since I had just purchased the vehicle. He checked with the service department and told me they could perform the service, but that I would be charged for it. Personally, I feel that a large, reputable dealership should at minimum ensure the oil is fresh before selling a used vehicle. Shortly after that, Mr. Bowlin emailed again asking what they could have done differently to earn a five star review. I responded and shared the same concerns mentioned here. Unfortunately, I never received a reply to that email either. Overall, the experience was a positive one, largely thanks to Rob's patience and professionalism. A side note worth mentioning (in my opinion) is there are positive affirmations in the restrooms and Christian music playing in the building. My only disappointment was the lack of follow up when I shared concerns and gave the dealership an opportunity to address them. For that reason, I'm leaving four stars instead of five.

He scheduled me for the next day (turned out it was one of the coldest days of the year). I was pleasantly surprised they could get me in so quickly. Their price was comparable to other companies I called. The lady in the office was so friendly. I enjoyed chatting with her. She offers you coffee, water or soft drinks when you come in. The coffee was good and strong and appreciated. They were busy that and ended up taking 2-1/2 hours to finish my replacement. Once they took my car back, they got to work replacing the windshield and calibrating the system. I recommend Alabama Glastek if you need your windshield replaced to a crack repaired.

Never will I come back for service on my Silverado. I have been here a few times and the first two…read moreor three times it was fine. I came in for an oil change and the advisor wasn't trying to sell me unnecessary services or anything. He got me in and out. The last time I was in for an oil change the advisor (one I had never worked with) reminded me there was a recall on my truck. I have known about this recall and put it off because I knew how big of a job it was and was afraid someone would to mess it up. I have several years experience working in the service dept of a dealership and my husband has been a mechanic for over 30 years, so we know a little bit about cars to say the least. I decided to move forward with the recall because the parts were in stock and I had a couple of good experiences at this shop. I should have trusted my gut. I had my husband take it in the day of because I knew if anything was done wrong he would be able to spot it. Sure enough, when the truck came out the roof liner looked beyond horrible. It was broken in a couple of areas and there was grease all over my truck. They took the truck back to "clean it" and it came back for a second time still dirty. The service advisor argued with my husband about the liner being broken and told my husband that he was lying and that we brought the truck in dirty and with the broken pillar. I take better care of my cars than most people and I know for a fact my truck was clean and without damage. We requested the service managers help. She did not want to pay her technicians time to redo it. My husband asked her to order us a new liner and he would install it himself. She went ahead and ordered the liner. months later we called to see when our liner would be in and they kept pushing us off. We decided to show up at the dealership one day and requested to speak with the manager. They told us she would be in shortly. We waited for almost 2 hours. She never showed up. The service advisors looked into the part tracking and told us it would be another week. We walked over to the parts department and the employee behind the counter told us that the part had been in for weeks. We brought the roof liner home with us that day and my husband installed it himself. I typically take my truck in for small services, but from now on my husband will be doing everything himself. Step One will never get any more of our business.
