A box of antique depression glass champagne coupes - shattered. I am afraid to go through my antique China collection. I have no doubt at least half is broken which is a huge blow to my business. I continue to find items broken that were properly packed. You would think Ace Venture worked for this joke of a moving company. And they charged us $2000 to move our two bedroom apartment into storage. Only to break so many things. I strongly do not recommend.

The day of the move Jim gave me a call about 8:45am the morning of the move to let me know the crew were on the way. They arrived promptly at 8:58am, and after a quick walkthrough, were able to start moving things by 9:05am. the guys were both extremely friendly, and got all of my moms stuff out of her apt., down a flight of stairs, and loaded into the truck in under an hour. Once we got to her new place, they found a spot to park the truck, which was unfortunately across the street, and up one building. They devised a quick plan, and we were able to start taking stuff inside almost immediately. In about an hour, the guys had all of my moms stuff into her new place. They asked where I would like things, and then put them in the proper rooms accordingly. All of my belongings were well cared for the entire time, and after a few minutes of watching them work, wasn't worried about the potential of damages at all. All in all, the experience was a great one, and I would go back to them if I decide to move. I hope I never have to move!

Despite clearly instructing the crew not to pack certain items, they ignored my directions and wasted approximately one full hour of billable time packing items I explicitly told them not to pack. One of the movers later admitted that his supervisor was wearing headphones and ignoring my instructions during the move. Entire areas of my apartment were not checked, including my laundry room and shower, while other areas were packed inconsistently. An entire rug was left leaning against the wall, and a full computer monitor was left behind even though I specifically instructed them to pack all electronics. I also informed the team that I own rare and vintage items that required additional care. Despite this, hundreds of dollars' worth of my books were damaged, and the certificate of authenticity from a vintage book was removed from inside the front cover and left on the floor of my bedroom. This document is essential to the value of the book and should never have been separated. Shoes were thrown together without protection, resulting in scuffed items. Jewelry was packed even though a customer service agent later confirmed this is against company policy. I found individual earrings, socks, and other small items scattered across the floor after they left. Kitchen packing was inconsistent, with some items packed and others left behind, and pillows were left behind while the bed was packed. For context, I paid for a 10x15 storage unit. When the crew finished, it was only half full. I then spent the next three days moving boxes entirely on my own and with the help of friends, at which point the unit became completely full. This clearly shows how much of the move was left for me to complete. It has now been over 10 days since the move. I sent detailed documentation and photos and have received only two generic emails, with no phone call and no actual update or resolution. I would strongly caution anyone considering this company. Back Savers showed up with so many movers I almost lost count. 6 or 7 of the most clean cut, uniform wearing gentleman. They got to work right away helping me finish wrapping up odds and ends. I opted to provide the boxes and supplies needed for the move but I noticed that they did have extra supplies to wrap the couches etc. We are having to get the crew to come back out again tomorrow because I needed more storage. If I did have the extra storage space today they could have easily finished up today. These people are serious about getting the job done. Our goods were shipped in a container (!!) via rail (!!). This is a very rough way of shipping anything. Also, since it wasn't on a truck, they couldn't even estimate when it would arrive! Also, we eventually realized several possessions vanished during shipping. We would never use them again or recommend them to anyone, other than an enemy.

When we got to my new home and they unloaded, one dining room chair leg was broken and 2 other chairs were very scraped. A small waste basket that I brought back from Florence, Italy, was destroyed. Also, the final bill came in higher than I expected. When I contacted the office and the person through whom I had made the reservation, Alan, he was rude and told me to send pictures. I did but have not heard back from him. When I call the office, phone goes directly into voicemail and I leave messages, but no one calls me back. I have been trying to reach him for 26 days! I would never, ever, use them or recommend them to anyone.
