I want to start by saying that I completely understand and respect the importance of businesses…read moreoperating responsibly, especially when it comes to age-restricted products. Compliance with state laws, protecting licenses, and ensuring that customers are of legal age are all absolutely necessary practices -- and I genuinely appreciate establishments that take those responsibilities seriously. However, my recent experience at Xhale Smoke Shop left me feeling frustrated due to what seems like an inconsistency between modern technology standards and in-store policy. We live in a time where digital identification is becoming increasingly normalized and officially supported by major institutions. The State allows Apple Wallet to securely store and present a verified digital copy of an identification card -- not a screenshot, not an edited image, but an authenticated digital ID designed specifically for verification purposes. This technology exists to provide both convenience and security, and it is backed by systems intended to reduce fraud while improving accessibility for customers. Because of that, it was confusing and disappointing to learn that a legally supported digital ID was not accepted, despite being presented through an official platform. If the state recognizes and permits Apple to upload and verify a secure copy of identification, it feels contradictory for businesses to reject it outright without clear explanation or updated policy guidance. Policies that don't evolve alongside verified technological advancements can unintentionally create unnecessary friction for customers who are still fully compliant with legal requirements. Again, I respect the intention behind strict ID verification -- that part is not the issue. The concern lies in the apparent disconnect between what is legally permissible and what is practically accepted at the store level. As digital identification becomes more common, businesses may benefit from reviewing and updating procedures so customers aren't placed in situations where legally valid forms of identification are dismissed. Overall, I believe Xhale Smoke Shop has the opportunity to improve the customer experience by aligning store policies with modern, state-recognized identification methods. Clear communication and updated verification standards would go a long way toward balancing compliance with convenience, while also preventing misunderstandings like the one I experienced.

today I had an unfortunate encounter with store employee Myron. I came into the store originally…read morelooking for an hiddenhills the pen, but decided to get a refillable cartilage instead. After asking Myron a question about two of their flavors which were sangria and milk and loops, he proceeded to ask me which one I wanted to try which I told him sangria. As we walked to the counter, we were making small talk regarding the storm and he checked me out and told me my total I gave him the cash and he proceeded to put my items in a bag. As I looked into the bag while still on the counter, I pointed out to Mr. Myron that he gave me the wrong flavor and he immediately gets irritated with me as if I did something wrong. He then proceeds to huff and puff while walking back to the other flavor and accuses me of telling him I wanted the flavor that he picked up because that's the one he pointed to although I verbally said out of my mouth the other option which was sangria. He then comes back to the counter with an attitude saying, let me figure out how I can do that which he meant switching out the flavors cause I guess they needed to go through their actual system. After having me stand there in the store for about three minutes while he is still verbally irritated, he then just says to me "you know what" and points at the sign on the counter that says no refund even though I am not doing a refund it's more of exchange and I literally have not even touched either of the products, I looked him in his face and said "are you serious?" as he then starts to walk back to the cartilages saying "I asked you xyz & pointed at ect", even though I am letting him know that this is a mistake on his end for not listening to what I actually told him. As I am walking to the door because essentially he's telling me to get out because he's not willing to nor is going to help me anymore, I say to him that if he runs his cameras back, he will verbally hear me tell him I wanted to sangria, even though he picked up the other option. he then says back to me their cameras do not have sound. I then walk out and go about my day as a unhappy customer. Unfortunately, prior to this I had great experience with xhale. I've been there for about 3 to 4 times and have been sending people however, this experience alone is enough for me to now shop elsewhere. It is one thing for an employee to make a mistake due to "miscommunication" and be apologetic, but to immediately shift blame on the Customer without taking any accountability but displaying annoyance & attitude is very disheartening.
