I have stayed in several other hotels in Tilburg and have not been very pleased with any of those - these other places (like the City Hotel and the Mercure) often have better locations or just consider themselves better (like the Auberge du Bonheur) but often charge around €85-150 per night. I stayed at the Ibis for around €50 and while it was not a great hotel I felt that I got value for money. It is not in the City Center but for me arriving by car it was convenient. Check-in was quick and efficient. The room was nothing special but it was clean, had a comfortable bed, the bathroom was clean and fulfilled its purpose. They also offer free wifi in the rooms and the TV had a decent selection of channels so basically nothing to complain about. Would I stay again if in Tilburg - yes but it is not memorable or great, merely sufficient.

Unfortunately, due to flight delays we did not get to the hotel until 15 minutes before the park closed on the first day. Nonetheless, our room was ready and we didn't even have to stop at the front desk. We were able to proceed immediately to the room with our phone and the Efteling app. We were able to eat in the restaurant that evening and the food was excellent. I had pre-arranged breakfast the next morning at 8:30. The breakfast was also great. We were in the larger room in the main hotel building. There was a separate bedroom area with two single beds pushed together in that room. The other room had two bunkbeds. So overall, our room could have slept six. There were only three of us so everybody got two beds, which was great, especially after a long flight from the US . There was also a picnic table. The room was a little bare bones. There weren't a lot of amenities like there was no refrigerator or microwave or tea kettle but the beds and pillows were comfortable and the room was spacious. There was a shuttle right outside the main building that you could take to the theme park. You could also walk. This was the less expensive option, but we really enjoyed it and would happily stay again. I love that they have so many accommodations that fit families of all sizes. Everyone was very friendly. They also have secure luggage storage for the day if you visit the park the day you check out.

After being rejected prior at other restaurants due to a lack of reservations, we were pleasantly surprised and happy to know there were many seats available at this restaurant. We were also pleasantly surprised when the host told us about their gourmet buffet. The upstairs is an ala cart Japanese restaurant while the downstairs area is devoted to their buffet. The buffet offerings included everything from raw oysters, sushi and sashimi, to delicious warm entrées like mushrooms and garlic and sautéed bok choy along with fried rice and fried noodles. The salad offerings were fresh and absolutely delicious. They have cold plates for the cold food options and heated plates for the hot food entrées. The service staff was amazingly kind and helpful. All reasons we would definitely come back to this establishment.
