The install went well. The problem came afterward when the new by-pass doors on one closet needed to be trimmed to the proper length to accommodate the floor guides for the doors. That's when we learned how defensive and unpleasant dealing with Affordable Floors in Newton can be. It is my understanding that trimming doors is the responsibility of the floor installer since the installer will know the finished height of the floor and the guides. Affordable Floors absolutely refused to do that final part of the job, claiming they would not touch new doors....!!?? (But they would trim old doors??) I returned with the samples and we went over the numbers for an estimate. For the excellent quality of the hardwood flooring I chose, I was very pleased with the price, which included installation. Due to unforeseen problems with damage under the floor, I kept in touch with Mr Greg to let the team know that repairs needed to be made before the flooring was installed. He was patient and understanding, and he assured me that whenever I was ready to have the job done, just call and they'll schedule the installation. When I was finally able to call for the installation, I was promptly put on the schedule. Mr Juan did an amazing job! He was right on time for his 9am appointment, and I'm very impressed with his attention to detail. The frame around the marble of the fireplace came out beautifully, the new boards line up perfectly with the old wood flooring, and he masterfully avoided any damage to the very thin internet cable that goes through the floor.
