Gula Gula Centro is a place you can have a business lunch, meet up with friends or co-workers. It is a spacious area, seating on the main floor and a section on the second floor. Noise levels can get annoy, cause it gets crowded with large parties.
They have their traditional menu, salad, meats and sides. But they have a menu of specials which changes daily and a set executive meal menu. The set executive meal is R$33 and comes with a small salad. Fish, chicken, meat, pasta or salad - they have an option for all.
The meal I had today was the Frango Crocante Executive special. It comes with a small salad bowl (you get that served first) and then two breaded chicken with crème de milho and broccoli rice. I do find the crème de milho a little to the sweet side, but combined with the rice and chicken they work together.
As mentioned, it does get crowded, so if you are a big group, get in before 12 noon to get a table. The downtown location does not offer the Doce de Leite Petit Gateau, so note that there are slight differences in the menu.
If it is your birthday, Gula Gula offers a free dessert :) Their famous lemon pie or pudim.
Service is not the fastest so if you are in a hurry do keep that in mind. read more
