This is a great little guitar shop that has moved from its previous location to its new home on San Jose in the Mandarin area. It was here that we were able to buy an entire setup for a budding acoustic guitarist from hard travel case to sheet music! There is a pretty good inventory for this little strip mall location with primarily new equipment. When we were shopping here they also had some used guitars in great shape as well. In addition to great selection, the staff here is completely passionate about music and was incredibly helpful getting our aspiring guitarist fully equipped with everything needed to get started. I believe they even through in some free picks in addition to all of this staff's enthusiastic words of wisdom. We even were treated to an electric guitar solo by one of the folks working that day! This was an educational and fun shopping spree for sure! Loved it!! read more

I've had Joel work on my US strat and both taylors. One of which he put a new pick up system in. He is an incredibly knowledgeable and talented luthier. His shop is small but slammed full of awesome gear from old Gibson's to awesome larrivee acoustics and so much more. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

I had a vintage guitar worked on at Guitars United. One of the things they did for for me was set the intonation. They got 4 of the 6 strings spot on and the other 2 are close. They did two things that bugged me to the point I will not go back to this store. First, they scratched my vintage guitar. One thing a guitar shop should never do to a vintage guitar with a great original finish is scratch it. Second, they lost some of the original parts from my 22 year old guitar and never replaced them. I had purchased this guitar new and until Guitars United worked on it I had retained all of the original parts and pieces. Sorry, I heard good things about Guitars United but I will never walk into that store again. read more

The guys at Guitars United are great. Our daughter has taken guitar lessons here for about a year. Joel the owner is nice and helpful. Peter teaches her lessons and he does a great job! He's patient with her and encouraging and keeps the lessons fun. He follows a guitar lesson book for technique but also picks out songs that interest her to play as well. read more

As a grandmother I wanted the best for my granddaughter. At the age of seven she wanted to learn how to play the guitar. I wanted to make sure she had a teacher that not only taught you how to play but also how to read music. My granddaughter wanted to be able to go to Lavilla School of the Arts because of the music program for guitars. Because of Guitars United with its wonderful teachers - she was taught by Matt for more than three years. She passed the audition and realized her dream and is now attending Lavella. She was taught the right way and because of the proper equipment which you can get right there in the shop she had the right tools to have a wonderful audition. I love this shop. Everyone is interested in your needs and dreams. I love the homey feel and comfortable setting in which to learn. I would recommend this shop to anyone interested in lessons, purchasing a guitar at a reasonable cost and it also provides inspiration for your dreams in music.
