He discovered a terrible wiring job done by a previous tech and brought my guitar back to life. His professionalism and expertise is second to none and he is a master of his craft. After calling about a dozen Guitar Centers in FL, I called this location and got Steve on the phone. Steve had a great attitude and promptly checked the store for a specific guitar that I was looking for. Before I could even request it, Steve offered to hold the guitar for me since I was driving over 2 hours away. I ended up getting the guitar after some trade-ins and couldn't be happier. Steve was phenomenal throughout the whole process and the manager of the location was also very helpful and accommodating. This was the best experience I have ever had at a Guitar Center. Saw that an item was in store so I placed an online order for pick up wanting to pick it up same day. Warning to those who don't know but it's very unlikely you'll get your order the same day. Mine was processing, something the manager couldn't explain to me, for several hours. The website gives no estimate whatsoever. They told me it would be ready within 24 hours after I called asking why it was taking so long. Lesson learned. This is not your typical pay and pick up store. I should have just walked in and placed my order instead. Also, when calling the store it probably rang at least 40 times. Online chat was unhelpful and only repeated instructions to call the store for assistance. Over all, the in store employees were helpful once I was able to speak to them but the shopping experience was a pretty bad one and I'll never make the mistake of store pick up again. Whew. Edit. The curb pick up app chat doesn't work thought it acts like it does. I sat in front of the store for 20 minutes before walking in. An employee told me it never worked and they get no notifications. I'm torn on this review. I went here this past Saturday, the employee (male) who was working in the drum section gets 5 stars! He was so helpful with finding the perfect pink sticks for my daughter, cute stick case, & went through the best selection of drums to purchase. The employee (female) at the front checkout register I asked for help to see if a book was in stock she points in the book direction & says "I don't know if it's in stock but you can look". The area was so disorganized but she didn't even try to assist buy looking in the computer to see if it was in stock. Overall if I didn't interact with the man in drum section I would leave 1 star but because of him I'll give 3. read more

Jen in the dj area rocks! My 9 year old son wanted a turntable set for his birthday and I didn't have the first clue as to what to get or where to start. Jen knew exactly what would be perfect for my aspiring little dj skrillex. She helped us pick out a pioneer ddj sb2 that was just as easy as she told us it would be to learn how to use. She took her time to explain everything to us and she answered all of my questions thoroughly and knowledgeably. I really appreciate her taking the time out to help me pick something for him because I have found out that even though my son had no previous experience mixing music and is only 9, is really talented at it and that is not just a proud mommy talking. The rest of the store is pretty standard with a small selection of vinyl records, drum sets, speakers, keyboards, and of course guitars. Great place for guitar heroes (and uke heroes too)...Lol. Guitar Center has very helpful staff who is knowledgeable about the products they sell. I was searching for a ukulele and was drawn to the store because of a special they had with $30 ukuleles for Black Friday. However, the one I ended up buying was $80 and much nicer quality. Not as good as my uke buddy's ukes (the one I brought in was high quality and well over $100) but pretty good for a beginner to start with. And definitely much nicer than the $30 cheapo plastic ones, for sure. Also, it seems they currently have FREE Guitar Lessons for beginners. Nice! read more

Called 855-697-0863 on 9/22/2021 at 10:40 AM about the order. Put hold as they contacted the store. I was disconnected after 5 minutes. Called again at 10:49 AM. Put on hold again as they contacted the store. They informed me that the speakers were to be shipped by freight and thus the delay. "They should go out within 24 hours." On 9/26/2021 at 2:02 PM, I received an email from GC stating that the order was cancelled. I called GC at 2:23 PM asking why. The agent said a note indicated the speakers had sold 20 mins before my purchase. I asked why I wasn't told on 9/22? Put on hold as they contacted the store. When they returned they said an employee had sold them to someone else in-store after I had bought them. She said "Sorry?" GC has not acted in good faith and has been dishonest with excuses. read more

I called in to check on the color of a used guitar they had, so new that the pictures hadn't loaded yet, and Leroy absolutely went above and beyond. He took the guitar off the wall for me and gave me a full inspection of the condition over the phone, chatted with me about how we both love pickguards on our guitars, walked me through all my payment options, personally placed the order for me, checked on the case for me, and even found my Gear Card number because I just got a new one and haven't received the replacement in the mail yet. He personally oversaw the guitar to make sure it went to shipping correctly and I got the tracking number literally 30mins later. What an absolute joy. Thank you so much Leroy! read more

Made it clear I needed it delivered to my home. They shipped it to the store. Nobody knows where the part is. This renders my new $5k Martin guitar useless. Uggggh. So disappointed in you. read more

One of the worse experiences I ever had shopping. Went to buy my first ukulele no one came to talk to us they just stayed there talking with each other and watching us moving around. Even though after asking for help they gave me the wrong ukulele and left. And wasn't just me. Other costumers were getting frustrated as well! End up getting a wrong ukulele for me ( didn't get any help at all), so I returned the ukulele and went to a different store and there the people were able to help me with exactly what I wanted! After my initial review where I detailed how they swapped out the guitar case on my Taylor guitar for a cheaper case I was contacted by someone who claimed to be the store manager. He said they would be glad to swap out the cheap plastic case with the better luggage-style case the guitar was supposed to come with. I was excited but a bit skeptical since the case my guitar was supposed to come with is no longer being manufactured by Taylor. Still, I thought it was nice of him to try. Well, it's more than a year later and I still do't have the correct case. I have sent a few messages to the manager guy but I haven't gotten a response. My negative review stands. This company is dishonest and they will literally steal from you. To make it worse, they'll search you on your way out as YOU are the theif. Buy your gear somewhere else. read more

I came into guitar center excited and ready to spend a couple 1000 on a Taylor guitar. I wasn't sure which one I wanted so I was looking forward to playing a few of them to pick the right one for me. Well all of the guitars were locked up and the only ones available to play where the cheap ones. Employees didn't even acknowledge me. I spent 30+ minutes looking at guitars I couldn't play while waiting for anybody to ask if I needed help. I got tired of waiting so I walked around the store. I needed to replace the pins on my bridge so I went to the repair section to look for some and I waited and waited and waited and no one showed up. Very disappointed in service. Luckily for me all I needed was one pin and they had a loose one on the floor I guess from a previous repair. I won't be coming back. I'll buy my Taylor elsewhere. read more

Took my guitar here on November 26th, 2017 to have a repair done. Called on January 9th, 2018 to get a status since they never called me. The repair tech said that he hadn't got to it yet and would start on it right way. Went there today since he hasn't called me back to check on it. Well, it turns out he never got to it. It was there for 55 Days!!!!! So, I picked it up and to it to Dales Instrument Repair on Beach and Southside. Dave fixed it in less than 20 min. Nothing like Guitar Center used to be. It's been almost 2 years since I was an active touring musician. I stopped by to pick up a ukulele for my sister's birthday gift. The sales floor was barren, and I wasn't greeted as I walked in the store. I walked to the acoustic area, grabbed a uke off the wall and walked around for 15 minutes with no sign of a sales staff. Guitar Center used to be about customer service, now it seems they've hired from Hot Topic's employee pool. I definitely would suggest foregoing the store and finding a different option. This store makes me glad I don't play music anymore. read more

This store always seems understaffed. Whenever I go in their for something as simple as strings there's one person working the register and at least 2 people ahead of me. If I look at a guitar someone's trying to sell it to me. I asked about a guitar and instead of helping me the employees were gawking at the instrument instead of helping and giving me options. We went in looking for a beginner guitar for a young friend that learning to play and cant afford to get a good piece of equipment. They were more than happy to help and explain to us the differences in the equipment. Both the manager and associate were very helpful. Very poor shopping experience. The staff was not helpful at all they just kind of conversed among themselves. I wasn't even greeted when I walked in. I got a few awkward kind of rude stares as I walked in. But They act and look as if customers are merely an inconvenience to them. I give the place 2 stars because their selection of electric guitars and amps is pretty solid, I gotta give that to them. But other than that there was nothing positive about this experience. I would not recommend shopping here, I regret driving an hour to shop here. But I would probably be willing to drive further for better service. Again, the selection is alright. I don't think I will ever return to this location. I've had multiple bad customer service experiences so I'll take my business elsewhere. The most recent customer service fail happened 1/23/2020. I walked into the store and received no greeting or offer to help. No big thing there, but still. The big fail happened a few minutes later when I was looking at a classical guitar. I was right in front of one hanging on the wall at eye-level. Clearly, I has interested and looking this instrument over carefully. A salesman who was either with a customer or another salesman walked over while talking to the other guy, slid his arm in sideways between my face and the guitar, and yanked it off the wall. Nothing said to me whatsoever. He just pulled it away sideways, missing my face by about 6 inches while he talked to his customer or his fellow salesman and ignored me. I looked at him and threw up my hands to basically say "WTF" and he then said, "Is there something I can help you with?" in a half-hearted attempt to avoid a complaint, I guess. I said, "Not anymore" and left. This experience is on top of a previous bad experience when a saleman became very snotty and belittling when I was looking to buy a used guitar. It's not easy being a 50 year old man who has been playing guitar for 40 years having to listen to a 20-something year old blather nonsense about instruments they clearly don't understand. This represents two sales in a row they lost. I don't window-shop guitars. I buy them. My business goes elsewhere. Also, I agree with the comments about the guitars being locked-up. I'd be okay with them locking up guitars if they actually had salespeople who help you, but being helpful doesn't seem to be their specialty. read more

There are no real sales associates here anymore, just cashiers. I came in yesterday to decide between some Yamaha HS7's or 8's. I was in pro audio for about 30 minutes listening to different monitors and did not even get approached. Eventually, I left and bought a pair of Yamaha HS8's from another store online. I'm new to the musical world, as in I just got a ukulele 2 days ago. I went to this Guitar Center last night, maybe 40 minutes before closing. I came for new strings, and they were kind enough to show me how to restring my ukulele as well as educate me on my instrument and things I should expect. I really appreciated the time they took with me, their kindness and informativeness, especially given that it was nearly closing time. I would highly recommend this Guitar Center to anyone, as the customer service is wonderful and the people who work there really know their stuff. read more
