It is a great guitar center overall, they have pretty good used guitars I have to say, the prices are pretty decent, especially for certain used guitars and their brands. Overall, I'm looking to shop here again and if you pay for a warranty for a few years, you can get a free guitar repair if you have any type of damage on it. Zach is also a very helpful employee. He helped me get my first guitar without any problems. and his politeness actually made it worth it more to go to this guitar center. this guitar center is perfect for people that want to find good quality, good price products. read more

I needed a music stand that was foldable, lightweight, stable, and had an ample shelf for holding my music's three-ring binder. This turned out to be sort of a hard-to-find combination. But, Guitar Center came through. Mr. Zach helped me find the display and there were several to choose from. My choice was not the most expensive but it is perfect, so the good price was an added bonus. Thank you, Mr. Zach. read more

One thing I love about this place is that they are very knowledgeable and very helpful. Brought my daughter's high school jazz band guitar to get restrung and tuned. They did a great job! I also bought a case for it which was very affordable. Great place! read more

got a great deal on an acoustic bass, lots of inventory in stock and available thru their many other stores

I was just getting new double pedals for my drum kit and i we asked this dude for help to put the pedals down on the floor try them out. I decided to get them and the dude that was checking my stuff out had an attitude and he was so rude. Like dude i get it it's late at night and u wanna go home but it's not gonna kill you if you're nice. Just go over to atlantic bc they r better. But that dude needs to get fired or something be brings me SO MUCH anxiety whenever i go there. His name was Emilio or something like that. All the other employees are nice but him hell no. read more

Zach was very helpful! You can tell he cares about getting you the right instrument for you.

So far so good, good service. Went there and sold my 2 guitars and amp. They have good selections as far as musical instruments and they let you try them, no pressure from the staffs, you ask and they answer your questions read more

You have some decent people there, but the few people with bad attitudes just ruin it. I am done with this place. It's my second time going there and I have experienced the same thing each time. Some employees just look angry that they have to work there. Avoid this location. read more

My husband is the musically inclined person in the family, not me, but I actually don't mind coming to this Guitar Center. The workers are friendly and helpful but do not pressure at all. They have a large selection of guitars and similarly stringed instruments (mandolins, ukuleles, etc.) and a nice, smaller selection of percussion instruments. There is a private room to try out instruments as well. They carry just about every kind of musical paraphernalia as well from practical to silly. Even during the holiday rush, this location was kept clean and orderly. I was impressed by that. read more

So I decided I wanted to teach myself how to play the guitar. With so many youtube videos, it's definitely possible to teach yourself nowadays. I'm also a musically inclined person; I grew up playing the piano, clarinet, drums, and xylophone. I walk in knowing pretty much nada about guitars and was greeted by Chris. Chris is awesome... if you come here, you must ask for him if you're looking to purchase a guitar! I've got short arms, so I have trouble reaching around some guitars. Chris helped me find the perfect one for me. It was also on sale ... $100 off. Score! I purchase the guitar, get it home, and open the box. It did come new in box. And UHOH... there was a good sized crack on the lower bout. I called Chris and, unfortunately, they didn't have another new one. Since the guitar I had was still playable, he told me to keep that one and a new one should be in within 2 weeks because the computer system automatically ordered them when they were out. He said he'd give me a call in a couple of weeks if one hadn't showed up. True to his word, two weeks later Chris gave me a call to let me know that one had yet to arrive, so he'd made a call to get one from another store here in FL shipped. Two to three days later the guitar arrived and he gave me a call to come pick it up. Chris went about and beyond. He's also super friendly and very easy to talk to. I can tell he absolutely loves what he does. I also dealt with the manager, Taz. He's also pretty great and really friendly. So far, I've managed to teach myself one song on the guitar and I am loving playing. I'll definitely be using this shop in the future for all my musical needs! read more

Bunch of total morons. They will tell you they take gear in trade over the phone, and then when you get there they have some bumbling idiot at the front that says "I don't think we take those.. derrr derrrr" DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION!!! I probably should've realized it because it's in orange park what do you expect? Save yourself a lot of headache and go over to Atlantic!! read more

I took the guitar back to get it checked since my coverage was up. They had it for 3 days said nothing was wrong but also put it back in tune. This thing will not stay tuned at all (which is the problem we've been dealing with for 3 years). So as in walking to my car I notice they managed to scratch the back pretty badly. My son keeps this guitar in a case when not in use. He had a small dent on the front that he did but now all the paint on the back side is scratched. /: I am so furious with the way this situation was handled then you scratch up my kids guitar!!! I'm done with guitar center. I hope this review helps someone avoid the same hassle I had to deal with. read more

We came in to get my husband's guitar tuned and restrung and not one person in the store acknowledged us or even said we'll be with you in a minute. We were there 15 minutes and no one came over to us to even find out what we wanted. They will not get another chance. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. I arrived at 1:15ish to trade in some equipment and purchase new. Was told The pro audio guy would be there at 1:30. 2 o'clock rolled around and he showed up just to tell me the manager that had to approve my trade wouldn't be there till four. The original associate spent more time talking to his friends about how good of a drummer he was. Didn't help any customers that I saw he told them he didn't know that area of the store every time he was asked a question didn't know about the pro audio services didn't know when the manager was going to be there was absolutely no help I will not return to that store. I was set to spend about $1000 and upgrading my equipment I'll find someone who actually wants to sell products and make money and not just give customers the runaround. read more

Very pleased with the customer service when shopping for a beginner electric guitar, and very accommodating for payment methods

Most efficient and helpful team! Amazing customer service! They have the best instruments , sound systems, etc .

Wow! They treated my daughter like a queen. Her guitar broke(we had the warranty) and they didn't have the same one in the store and they were so patient with her to find one she liked (she is picky) and made sure she was happy. Devon was great! He even found a coupon for her to help with the upgrade cost. Can't be happier! read more

Chris and Tazz are absolutely awesome! They are super helpful and very knowledgeable... They helped us pick out the best guitar for us.... My son is interested in learning to play guitar. My sister has taught him a snip of one song and now, this is his new passion. So we came to Guitar Center to check out the hardware. They have a large collection of new and used instruments to please to your dreams of becoming the next rock star. Don't be afraid to pick up your instrument of choice and go to town. I have always had a love of music, yet never learned to play beyond the recorders and triangle of my elementary days. So, to see a little rock God under 10 jamming out on the drums is kinda freaking awesome! I truely enjoyed watching the customers pick up a guitar and get lost in a song. Someone on staff is never too far away and willing to help you out with anything you need or questions you have. And they have it all. I didn't even know you can rent instruments and equipment as well. I didn't check prices on that, but I will next time. I do love that you can find something in a wide range of price points as well. Oh, and my favorite thing was finding a replica of The One Pick from the Jack Black movie, Pick Of Destiny. Yeah, that's on my XMas list now! So, I got ideas on what my son is wanting and a place to get it all and everything else that I will need down the line until the day he is on stage jamming it out to a crowd of thousands... Or in his rooms pretending to be. read more

Staff is rude- I was the only one in the guitar section on a slow night and instead of helping, employees decided to hang out and talk amongst themselves. As soon as I grabbed a guitar to try out, plugged it in, and set it to a quiet level to listen to it, two of them plugged in a guitar and played louder than I've ever played at any show- (mind you I've played on a stage to 40k people). No, they weren't helping a customer. No they weren't testing it for a problem. They were playing OVER me at around 140db. At 10 feet away they obviously knew I was trying to make a determination on the guitar I picked out - which was impossible. They dgaf. Won't be buying from this location again. read more

The customer service: superb. The background music: jammin. The selection: large. My daughter needed a string replaced. She also got a strap, and strap attachment for a good price. The staff helped attach everything and she left the store ready to practice! The guys have a sense of humor too. There is a lot to look at here, and they offer more than just guitars. I recommend checking it out and showing some love. read more

The best experience I've had at a guitar center. I usually never have good experiences at guitar center. (From getting told to lower the amps, to getting annoyed looks when asked to check out the higher end guitars, at other locations of course) I've been to this location a lot recently. The staff is knowledgable and very helpful. This is a true musicians shop, from having a good mix of intermediate and professional guitars in stock. Their amp selection is limited but that's understandable. This is the best overall "guitar" shop I've been to in JAX. From gear, techs, lessons, entertainment equipment, this place has it. read more

I have been a fan of Guitar Center since it came to New York nearly ten to twelve years ago as I had such a positive buying experience there. Later, I became a shareholder in the company and had the honor of having a meeting with the company CEO Larry Thomas because my father was the main stock analyst providing coverage of the company at the time (when it was a public company). With my bias known, I make a point of visiting Guitar Centers for my constant changing music tastes ranging from Classical to Jazz/Reggae to Metal. While every GC seems to have its own character and vibe to themselves, each one tries to make my arrival welcoming either directly or indirectly by having something exciting in their stock that I might want. The new Orange Park location in JAX has a much different layout than I am used to, but it didn't take me more than two crunching chords to find the guitar, bass, and acoustic sections I was looking for. I was really looking for strings for my old Fender Stratocaster, but my eyes wandered to the vibrant Dr Z amp head and the howling VHT Pitbull combo amp...then there were the Gibson 335's....and the Martin acoustic guitars....the list could go on. I had to pull myself away from all the good things I could see and eventually depart for points East, but I knew that I would be back. In my passing evaluation, I suspect the store might be better than I rated it, but I will have to return with my guitar to plug in and find out... read more

My son "kinda" wanted to learn the electric guitar. So we started looking around. After some research we felt Guitar Center would be a good spot. My son went from "kinda" wanting to learn to "apesh*t" about everything "MUSIC" he loves his instructor and can't wait for his weekly lesson. I'm in the military and they cut me a break on the cost which I felt the price was well worth it without the discount. Plus parents can wait here during the lesson and just browse around look at records and instruments. Very cool place and we are very pleased with our decision to send our son here. Would recommend this place to everyone. read more

Love GC. Until my experience this evening. Went in to take advantage of a epiphone electric guitar on sale for Black Friday. Found it and took it to the cash register. This is where the experienced took a turn. There was a employee, female, body type on the larger side, w distinctive bangs. Sorry I didn't catch her name. I don't usually say this word but she was a b*%ch! Not just to me, but to my parents who were with me. She tried to charge me full price for the guitar and didn't believe me when I said it was on sale. Then a manager confirmed it was on sale and gave us the discounted price. She was just nasty, non pleasant, and in a bad mood. Not very good customer service. Other than that, everyone else was extremely helpful. If u go to this store, avoid her. Other than that, Happy Holidays and aloha! read more

Run away from this store. It has the worst staff compared to the other ones in Jacksonville. I asked for Silentstroke drum heads and one staff walked away, the other said he's never heard of it. Both of them did not even checked their inventory nor even logged into their website to verify the existence or the availability of the product like I did. Such no sense of care about customer service. This store is close to my house but I'm force to drive 30 more miles to get better service that I don't even demand for. I have spent thousands of dollars with Guitar Center over the years but this Orange Park location makes me buy from their competition instead. read more

Management/Human Resources/Corporate, you have an outstanding employee at your 6000 Lake Grey Blvd location in Jacksonville, FL. His name is Travis. I have no knowledge of musical instruments, but after a lifelong curiosity I decided to buy an acoustic guitar to start my journey. At first, my subjective opinion led me to believe that Guitar Center would be a pushy salesperson atmosphere. With no musical instrument knowledge, this could be intimidating. This is the furthest from the truth. As soon as I entered the store I was greeted by a well mannered and outwardly focused gentleman, Travis. Travis was perfect. He was not pushy, but genuinely helpful, kind, professional, and knowledgeable. Through this experience we decided to purchase a new guitar instead of a used guitar. On Travis's own initiative, he took the guitar out of the box, inspected it, and tuned it for us! This was world class service for someone with no experience. Through this experience, I will always use my local Guitar Center. Travis was the sole reason for this experience. Travis is a great asset to any team. I highly recommend a promotion opportunity upon a spot opening. With Travis's personality, knowledge, and genuineness, it will pay dividends to have Travis in a position for greater impact. Management, incentivize Travis to ensure to keep this valuable asset around. Travis keep up the great work! read more

Went to Guitar Center with high hopes based on the ratings. I found the perfect guitar on the racks, a Martin, made in the USA in great used condition. I spoke with the sales associate who said it was available and after playing for a few minutes we went to ring it up. I was then informed by Zak the "Assistant Manager" that there appears to be an issue. Apparently, a customer by the name of Darryl had place $180 to hold the guitar on May 3rd, 2017. As I write this it is June 18th, 2017. To his credit he tried calling his manager for assistance, who did not answer. He said the hold period for a guitar with a deposit down is 30 days, but as of today it is 45 days. This was not a cheap guitar mind you at $899 and I was there to buy with cash in hand. Not only did Zak appear to be nonchalant about the situation, but he looked me dead in the eye and said, "Sorry man, don't know what to tell you"...shrug included. Very frustrating and a waste of time. If the guitar was on layway, why was it on display for sale? The only thing I got from Guitar Center was my time wasted, disappointment, and a condescending attitude. read more
