A quick update - it's been the third year since my daughter first started lessons here and there time she was about 5. The pandemic didn't stop us!!! The place quickly adopted new technologies and developed a new app and using online lessons. My daughter has been taking lessons for 3 years now and she loves the one on one interaction with the instructor and she became very good friend with the instructor, Frankie! The app is wonderful for checking lessons, practicing, cancelling or rescheduling the lessons. It's very great for parents because it's so flexible since sometimes things come up. Other instructors for make up lessons are also great, Sydney, Sam and Jin! The price is very reasonable as well! read more

Guitar Ninjas - Musical Instruments & Teachers Near Me - Orange, California

My 9 & 10 year old went from knowing nothing about music to learning to play all the best rock songs from my childhood in 6 months of weekly lessons. They have learned so much and have had so much fun. All the instructors have such a positive and encouraging teaching style. I highly recommend Sydney and Jin! They also have an app that supports students outside of lesson who have a hard time with recall. This has really helped my boys practice consistently and troubleshoot! Such a huge perk of this program! Consistently impressed by the staff support & that my boys are eager to come to lessons! read more

Guitar Ninjas - Musical Instruments & Teachers Near Me - Orange, California

I've been attending Guitar Ninjas for almost 4 years, and it has been a phenomenal experience. My wife found Guitar Ninjas through Yelp when searching for a birthday present for me. When she called, she spoke directly with Jason, and he answered all her questions. They got me signed up for my first lesson pretty quickly after that, and the rest is history. The curriculum Jason pulled together has helped me improve my skills while exposing me to new and interesting musical genres. However, my experience would be nothing without my instructor, Jin. He is an excellent guitarist in his own right and an excellent teacher as well. I came in with a smattering of guitar knowledge (had been playing for ~10 years before signing up and was largely self-taught), and Jin knew how to take what I already knew and combine it with everything the curriculum had to offer, dramatically improving my playing. I'm now able to do more than just look at a chord sheet and strum along or slowly make my way through a tab. I'm able to listen to a song, understand it, and am slowly but surely getting to a point where I can start transcribing by ear. Jin has been integral to this process, and I appreciate all the insight and help he has provided. If you are interested in either learning how to play guitar or improving your skills, Guitar Ninjas is the way to do it. I'll also give a shout-out to the support team; they've been responsive to all the questions I've had over the years and transparent about any issues that've arisen. Thank you all for your dedication to teaching and helping me become a better guitarist. Rock on! read more

I've stayed with them now for a number of years and a recent move to their new location. Currently Jin Lee is my instructor and I couldn't be happier with my progress. I'm realistic in knowing that I'm never going to be an amazing shredder of a guitarist, but that was never the reason that I took lessons in the first place. I wanted to learn and understand the skills and just be able to play things at home for my own gratification. In a few years I've progressed from where I literally knew zero when starting out, to now as I'm currently working on playing a Led Zeppelin song (and solo)...a song that I couldn't have imagined I would ever attempt to play back when I was starting with them. read more

I thought the staff was pretty cool. However, I just wasn't happy with the curriculum that they use. I spent three weeks just learning a power cord I would've liked more comprehensive lessons. Maybe learn a simple song. Learn a scale. A more multi prong approach. I switched over to Guitar Center and I'm much happier. The cost is about the same, but I'm learning a lot more than one thing at a time. It's nice to go home and be able to work on more than one thing. I think this business would cater more to young children who are total noobs, and don't even know the names of the strings or basic chords. But for somebody with some level of experience, I don't feel it's as helpful. read more

My 7 year old has been taking lessons here for almost a year and we absolutely love this place. She progressed a lot. Sydney has had so much patience with her and makes it fun which kids need to stay interested in learning a new instrument since it takes so much time to get to where you need to me. Ive seen a lot of adults coming here for lessons too so it's a good spot for an ages. We will be coming here for the foreseeable future for lessons as I can't imagine going anywhere else. I can't say enough good things about this place! read more

They are knowledgeable and engaging. Frankie was very encouraging and helpful. She teaches according to one's ability.

I looked into many other schools and opted for Guitar Ninja based on their prompt and straightforward responses from Kimberly. My 6 year old has been with Sydney for 6 months now, and she loves it. I've definitely noticed that she remains interested through the whole lesson and also a big difference in her confidence. I really like how easy their scheduling/rescheduling process is. They are also very easy to get a hold of for any questions. read more

I'm an older guy who played a little guitar back in college and now that I'm retired decided to take up guitar again. I was a little hesitant about Guitar Ninjas because it seemed it was for kids. I tried it anyway. I found that there are some oldies students like me but, more importantly, the instruction and vibe is fantastic. They have a format to teach you from the ground up. It works, and I love it. The instructors are great. My instructor is Jin, who is absolutely the best. I'd highly recommend GN to anyone wanting to learn or polish up on their guitar. read more

We've had an awesome experience. Sydney is the best! Super patient, caring, and fun. Highly recommend!

I've always wanted to learn to play guitar since I was a kid. Finally decided to go for it during the pandemic. Guitar Ninjas offered the best solution in my opinion because not only do you get the expertise of great instructors during your lessons but then you also have access to video tutorials between lessons for extra help. Jin has been instrumental as my teacher in playing guitar. He is patient, talented and makes learning fun. I would highly recommend Guitar Ninjas if you are looking to take lessons. I wish the Orange location had Jam Club. Getting to play with other students and instructors was so much fun. It also gave me an opportunity to make a few friends. I'm looking forward to when it starts up. Suzanne C read more

I turned 40. My wife set me up with an intro lesson. Four years later it is the one thing I look forward to each week. I wanted to learn one song. I have played in front of packed bars. People even cheered. Never saw that coming. I can't help but smile learning my favorite songs. My productivity at work increased. I signed up my kids. The staff truly cares about the growth of all of their students. Sydney is a great teacher and is patient with my daughters. They are straight A students. Sydney is wonderful keeping them focused. The culture of the school is amazing. I can't say enough about this place. Check it out for yourself. read more

I can't say enough about Guitar Ninjas and Jason Land! His teaching and his business, truly rock! Our daughter has been taking lessons for about 4 1/2 years and she looks forward to every week. Jason has created an awesome program and can really relate to kids...and adults too! He is so hardworking and constantly does things to make his program even better. Our daughter has been inspired and motivated by him so much, I never have to ask her to practice- she just jams all the time, on her own! I highly recommend Guitar Ninjas, were are so happy we found this place! read more

These guys and gals literally rock. Sydney has been and continues to be a great instructor for our son.

Guitar Ninjas is the best and only place you should go for guitar lessons! I researched other places before coming to Guitar Ninjas, and nothing compares or even comes close to this program. It is the most reasonably priced place around. We first began the program when I gave my husband lessons for his 40th birthday 5 years ago. Jason is so patient as my husband has a unique way of learning. Both my daughters started taking group lessons at their elementary school 3 years ago with Guitar Ninjas..currently my youngest has been enrolled for the past 2 years. Her teacher is Sydney and she rocks! We love her and my daughter is doing so well. She's already on the blue pick! The way their program works is they learn a certain number of songs for each level and then once they can play them all at 100% speed they earn a pick which goes on a necklace. They also have Level Up Day where you go to the studio to watch your child perform a song they are working on! In addition to this, GN also has the most innovative techniques to aide in learning guitar. My daughter wore a power glove to help with the form of her fingers. She is so excited every week to go see Sydney and learn new songs! I can't recommend Guitar Ninajs enough, save time, DO NOT look anywhere else, you will not be disappoonted! read more

My 8 years old was not interested in taking guitar classes since he was happy with the 2-3 songs easy songs he already knew, but I talked him into trying a class at Guitar Ninjas. We had a first lesson with Frankie a few months ago (at the Orange location) and we've been going every week since then! He's looking forward to every lesson with Frankie and he's learned so much already! I love the system they developed, it's fun and exciting, I highly recommend this place! read more

Both of my daughters have been taking lessons with Frankie for about half a year and they LOVE it here. They are learning songs like crazy, there are online videos they can watch at home that augment or support what they learn with Frankie.... so if a parent doesn't play - they can pull up a clip of the teacher showing the technique or song. They also include play a long versions of the songs at different speeds. Playing Tom Petty songs with my daughter is so amazing and they just adore getting to see Frankie every week because she makes it fun and not just another miserable lesson. (We've been elsewhere where it felt like a chore for them) read more

We wanted to enroll our son in music lessons and chose Ivory Keys. The experience has been good so far. Our son seems very happy and never complains about going to lessons. We do have to encourage him to practice at home but he enjoys the classes so we're happy. They are very patient teachers and always have a good attitude. read more

We have had the absolute best experience here! Their professionalism and willingness to work with you is above and beyond what we expected for the affordability of the price. My sister has been so motivated to constantly try for the next pick level and her teacher (Sydney) has been so good with her, really teaching her in the ways she needs. 10/10 would recommend! read more

Great guitar teachers, great method. I've been so impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail. My child has had a fantastic experience with his lessons. Highly recommended! read more

Guitar Ninjas is the absolute best way to learn to play guitar. Before coming to GN, I took lessons at School of Rock, which wasn't very beneficial to me. Then I started taking online and in-studio lessons with both Sydney and Jay, and I absolutely loved it. Not only are the lessons great, but the price is extremely competitive, and the studio is run in a professional and efficient manner. For anyone looking for lessons, this is definitely the place to come. I've recommended GN to friends and you will too once you give them a try. read more

I made a resolution in 2018 to finally learn guitar - it has always been a lifelong dream. I found Guitar Ninjas via a friend whose daughter was taking lessons - they told me not only how valuable the lessons were towards improving her guitar skills but also how much they improved her overall learning. They told me how inspired and motivated she was.... I cannot agree more. The Guitar Ninja's program is excellent - well designed, structured and paced. I am an adult student and had never learnt an instrument growing up - and I love the program. I am able to take my half hour lesson over a lunch break once a week - and really look forward to the mental break it provides. I am learning new skills each lesson and enjoying it more every week. I take my lessons at the Burbank location - the studio has a great vibe and feels great to be in. The teachers are easy to talk to and engaging - they take enough time to ensure you get the skills sorted, checking mechanics and making it a great experience. The online learning portal has also really helped me - it has all the lesson videos to refer back to and go over at home as well as other tools such as drum loops etc. The design of the online portal is really easy to use as well. I am glad I finally decided to try and learn guitar - and I am really glad I found Guitar Ninjas. Thank you! read more

Very kind and patient teachers! First time learning an instrument and I feel more confident and excited to learn as much as I can.

First a little background....I'm 69 years old and got my first guitar 55 years ago. The lessons I took over the years ranged from "this is a C chord" to "just learn these riffs" to "learning from songs." Learning from songs is fine, in fact the Guitar Ninjas program is song based. The big difference is that GN's program is structured, which is HUGE, beneficial wise. Their program has 8 tiers, taking the student from beginner to advanced. Within each tier, different skills and techniques are taught, each building on the previous. Each skill/technique has its respective song to learn, reinforcing the lesson. Jason, the founder of Guitar Ninjas, does all the videos, which he fully and clearly explains. The videos contain the lesson, virtual dojos, skills and play alongs, all at various speeds to accommodate your experience level. As you successfully complete each tier, you are awarded the respectively colored pick. This is a great motivator. I've looked ahead at the advanced lessons, just to see what songs are waiting to be conquered. Great stuff and another motivator. Being retired, I find myself practicing 2+ hours/day. Never did this much in my life. My lessons are in Orange with Frankie, "a wee wisp of a lass", but a great teacher and player. Take it from this old man, Guitar Ninjas is hands down the BEST place learn guitar. read more
