Last October our son Matt enrolled in guitar lessons at the SOR in Somerville with very little experience but I noticed a lot of ability which was quickly obvious after a month with his guitar teacher Kylan who is absolutely incredible!!! After a month, in November he also enrolled in a band program there and due to his age landed him in the adult band program "The Barrikades" which just happened to be led and instructed by his teacher where the way we looked at it, the more time with Kylan the better! After just 3 rehearsals, Matt was able play and sit in on a few songs at a house show they did... after 4 months he was able to play another house show doing even more songs with them... and after just 6 months at a recent adult band house show, Kylan had the confidence in Matt to play most of the songs on his own and all The Barrikades did an awesome job for a great entertaining show! It really is hard to believe this all happened for our son in less than a year and although some may say maybe it's due to more the ability of an individual, it really doesn't happen without the instruction and confidence Matt got and gets from his teacher Kylan. Megan, Ally, Hailey and the whole staff at the SOR in Somerville have been fantastic and professional to deal with... in fact Matt as a lefty guitarist (where it not being so easy to walk in music stores and locate lefty guitars)... one of the owners John helped locate a great lefty Jackson electric guitar and then a beautiful lefty Fender acoustic guitar which we then easily purchased directly through the school. There was no signs stating the store was closed. In fact, the lights were on and people were playing some instruments. I must say though, the woman who asked us to leave was very kind and not rude in anyway. But, it would have been helpful to put a sign stating the store was closed or even write the hours on the door. At the least, they could lock the doors, because from the outside it looked open.

The '53 uke was in rough shape--old, rustic, and covered in decades of grime. Matt transformed it completely. He finely detailed the body until it was shining like a mantle piece, fixed the tuners, and recommended Nylgut strings that make it sound incredible. It went from a dusty relic to a daily player that I can't put down. For my Walden guitar, Matt performed "wild work." The action was high and the strings were dead, but he used a "cold clamp" technique on the neck and hand-carved a perfect unbleached bone saddle. He even recommended a spectacular cocobolo bridge to match the guitar's aesthetic and tone. Both instruments came back sounding "shockingly fantastic." If you have an instrument that has lost its "soul" or just needs expert engineering to sing again, Matt is the man to see. A true master of his craft and a total professional.

I said I'll pay whatever it is to upgrade if it is an upgrade I have 6 pieces of furniture to dust it vacuum the guy went outside with his phone in a huff then came back complaining then the other workers all chatting with him I'm like what is going on ???? We resolved the issue they stayed about 3 hours leaning one by one and the main guy was left. The kitchen counter tops were still dirty the hardwood floors had crumbs and dust on them and my master bathroom floor was still dirty. No baseboards cleaned no attention to detail. A deep clean should be nooks and cranny's for a 2 bedroom townhouse it was a total rip off. I called the owner she apologized I paid over 900.00 and she was crediting me back 100. What joke. They charged extra for each oven but don't clean my molding ???? We have not lived in this townhouse for 2 years. It needed a true deep cleaning it was definitely neglected but I had a freshly painted it and thought a deep clean was called for. Apparently their idea of a deep clean and mine differ. Lesson jea

The "deep clean" took place over two days, but totaled only about 8 hours. While the team was polite, several key areas were missed -- including dusty ceiling fans and other surfaces that should be standard at this level of service. I sent photos and was told the missed areas would be handled during the first maintenance visit. That visit was even more disappointing. Much of the home was left untouched, including the floors. I was told this was due to a "custom" plan -- yet there was no written contract, no scope outlined by email or document, and no communication confirming that entire areas of the house would be excluded. The only conversation was a brief call over a month prior. During the deep clean walkthrough, one of the team members even told me the floors would be part of the regular service, which added to the confusion. When I raised my concerns, the owner responded defensively and focused more on justifying their side than making things right. The tone shifted quickly once I pushed back, and I was left feeling unheard and undervalued as a client. Some things the owner might consider improving on: * Avoid shifting blame to the client when issues are raised -- especially after a $1,500 service. A missed spot is a missed spot, whether or not it was caught in a walkthrough. * Don't rely on a quick phone call as the sole definition of scope -- especially when no written agreement or clear follow-up is provided. Assumptions and verbal notes are not a client communication strategy. * Reach out proactively after a major service to check in. Leaving it to the client to initiate the first real feedback conversation creates a one-sided experience. And don't rely on staff rating requests to provide insight on client's service happiness, this is not indicative of the client's overall experience. Professionalism isn't just about what's cleaned -- it's about how a business listens, responds, and takes ownership. There's room for you to grow here.

But I brought it into Guitar Center Bridgewater and a very nice customer service associate named Raheem assisted me and showed me how to use get it working. He saved me from sending it back and also sold me a mic stand. Thank you very much. My experiences at GC of Somerville have been extremely positive. The staff seems to know the difference between my "just looking don't bother me" or my "I could really use some help" face. Any time I needed help Brett was attentive and insightful in aiding me. Knows the store products and quickly grasped what I needed but was having trouble putting into words. She started practicing for spring recital from Jan itself. Every-time after the class her instructor praised her saying she is playing good. I paid for the registration and tickets for the Spring 2024 recital, scheduled for June 22, back in April. However, on June 10, just two weeks before the recital, in the evening at around 9 pm, I received an email from the school stating that her instructor had pulled her out of the recital and she will no longer be performing in the Spring 2024 Showcase. and they also refunded the registration fee of the recital. There was no direct communication with me about any issues neither from the school nor from the instructor. I was in an impression that my daughter is performing and canceled all my other plans and also invited friends and family for the recital. My daughter got very disheartened after I told her that she won't be performing. She said why they pulled her out. Her instructor always said that she is doing good. My daughter is extremely sad. I am also very disappointed with this unprofessional behavior This experience has unfortunately led me to question the school's commitment to its students and their development.
