Noel, a world class music industry expert luthier right here in P'cola (?!??!!) who optimized my ultra modest '83 Alvarez and explains with patience and enthusiasm for my music experience. Me, in all my beginner ness with NO CONDESCENDING SUPERIOR ATTITUDE at ALL. What ?? No condescension -- unreal. What country am I in ... whew ... I'm not kidding. Joe was beyond helpful. Educated me on recording stuff and explained where to spend a little more and where to cut back, for max quality from a meager budget. Please -- seriously -- don't tell ANYONE how great these people are. If word gets out the place will blow up. I had the best experience here. My husband and I landed late Saturday night in need of a guitar for our gig the following day. Tom got us set up with everything we needed. He even shopped alongside us to make sure he could answer any of our questions. Both associates working on the night of Saturday, June 25th, were incredible. I was on and off the phone with this location for days trying to get some information about a 1981 Rickenbacker 4003 I wanted to buy. This was not the only bass I was looking at, but I chose to peruse buying it from guitar center over other music websites. I had finally gathered enough information to make my final decision and called them to pay for it. The man who answered spoke with me for about ten minutes and said he would set it aside and for me to call back in a couple hours after they open. At this point, I had already mentally let go of the 2 grand I was about to give them, and told friends and family, who have also been helping me inquire information for this bass. Once I called 2 hours later like they said, they had sold it to someone else. I have 5 guitars right now that I have bought from guitar center over the years, and now, after being led to believe I was about to buy the last bass I would ever need, then having it sold to someone else, I'd be damned if my 6th guitar will be bought from guitar center. This is the most unprofessional experience I have ever dealt with while trying to buy an instrument online. I highly recommend exploring other routes or supporting local businesses. I used to love Guitar Center in Pensacola. Customer service was terrific, selection was great, and I enjoyed shopping there. I was excited to see it come back after it closed a few years ago. The selection is still great, and the store looks incredible, but the customer service is severely lacking. No one spoke to me the whole time I was there, which is fine, but still not typical of a place like Guitar Center. I went to check out and there were about four employees standing around talking. I had to get the attention of one of them so I could check out. The cashier (His name was Clark according to the receipt) was very cold, and acted like the whole process of ringing up my purchase was a major inconvenience for him. He asked me for my name, which I told him I preferred not to provide since I typically elect not to share personal information when I make purchases, and he passive aggressively slammed on the keyboard before informing me "Well I have to put something". Furthermore, when I was putting my credit card in the reader to pay, without saying anything, he walked away from the counter to talk to another customer, while there were three people standing behind him who could have done it since he was in the middle of checking me out. I had to flag him down and get his attention to get a receipt. Maybe he was having a bad day or something, but still. This is not a way to treat paying customers. It shows a lack of professionalism and respect for customers. I will probably utilize other music stores like Leitz Music or Blues Angel from now on. read more

Horrible customer service , after around 10 minutes of being in the store and being watched by the staff with no complaints decided to go to another section of the store. One of the staff members then decided to come up to me after already seeing me and not saying anything to offer me a mask which I politely declined. I was then asked to leave the store due to not wearing one even though it was late and there were literally no other customers in the store or even any staff members within my proximity. Very unnecessary, I have went to other guitar centers with no problem. Won't be returning to this location. read more

I don't even know where to begin with this review. Hands down, the worst customer service I've ever dealt with in my life. You have four employees working and only one guy doing all the work. This dude, Clark, was nothing short of a temperamental asshole. I asked him a simple question and for some reason he felt offended by it. My bad, dude. If my face looked like a pepperoni pizza, I'd be pretty mad too. Than you have Josh...this dude was literally just wandering around the store while people were waiting in the front for assistance. Like really, dude? Get the hair out of your ears and pay attention to your customers. Than there's this dude who I'm pretty sure is named Kenny. The epitome of lazy. He literally sat and watched a single coworker take on a line of customers by himself. Little dude just sat there with his belly out for a solid 30 minutes without helping a single person. Honestly, the only appreciable employee they have is Matthew. He was the only one there who was willing to work and take care of his customers. Dude is super nice and kind too! Will I be coming back to this embarrassment of a Guitar Center? Hell no, man. This experience makes me want to never step foot in a Guitar Center location again. But shoutout to Matthew for helping me out last week, that's the guy who should be running the show. read more

I've recieved nothing but the best service from the staff of my local Guitar Center. Donnie in particular has gone out of his way to take care of me. You'd think I were buying a custom shop guitar and not an off the rack one. One thing I like about GC is if they don't have it, they can get it...almost anything. read more
