I bought a teenage engineering KO133 at the Ocala GC. 43 days later there is a faulty power switch. Emailed TE and explained the issue. They replied to return it to GC. Due to work schedule I could not return the product until 47 days after purchase where I was told that it was greater than 45 days since the purchase despite explaining that it broke before day 45, GC Ocala would not accept the return. I honestly can't see why they couldn't make this right but I will be dealing only with Sweetwater from now on. They have excellent customer service and the prices are frequently better. Anyway, I have spent thousands of dollars at this shop and won't ever step foot in the door again read more

Chase, at the Ocala location, provided excellent, friendly and informative customer service. My daughter came in with a broken guitar string. Chase not only repaired it but taught her how to do it herself in the future. He took time to be thorough and helpful with us (and the customer ahead of us) even though the store was busy. read more

I want to thank Devin at the guitar center in Ocala Florida. My first time experience was a great experience he was honest and understanding he answered every question honestly. I recommend the guitar center in Ocala to anyone who is interested in instruments, music Thank you to whole staff friendly understanding read more

not one lefty in the building. Need I say more? That alone is enough. Is there stock? Yes, everything you don't want. On the positive side. There is a lot of stuff in there. Just Nothing for lefties. Not a bad store, no guitars to buy for me though. read more

ZERO STARS !!!! Not even a 1 star the level of disrespect is off the charts the employees attitudes sucks the customer service sucks i bought some stuff from them and it was damaged so bad it look like it came out of a cow ass and GC did not want to do anything about it there warranty is a joke and they will not stand behind it i always told someone was going to call me for months on end they were trying to void there warranty by not calling me back i was placed on hold for over 45 mins it was worst then calling a government building i will never buy anything from GC read more

Every time, only one salesperson there who is at the register with a line of customers waiting their turn. No one there to unlock the guitars so I can try them out. No tech there to fix my guitar. The website "shop this store" button is inaccurate. If I call, I get put on indefinite hold. read more

Just don't... The inventory sucks. The employees attitudes sucks. Not worth the hassle with so many great online retailers now. read more

The tech (Dee), was very knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful. Thanks for a great experience.

Basically the customer service, I've been going to GCs since the 70s , I've relocated to Ocala Fl from Cali, most times I've enjoyed going into a guitar center for myself or my son who now plays guitar like his old man , well I decided I'd visit the GC near me in Ocala, the last few times we're not memorable but thought I'd check it out looking for some pedals , well as soon as I walked in the door and nobody else there except two workers chatting it up behind the counter, I said out loud , hello and nothing, they just kept on chatting, then as soon as I walked over to the guitar rack some other folks walked in and the workers stopped talking and greeted them at the door ! I look over to this one worker with teal colored hair and he looked at me and I just shook my head and went about my business, then the kid walked over to these folks and started talking to them, I had a question so I looked over and the one long haired young man was still helping the other customers so I looked for the teal hair colored dude who had walked into the back room , I asked the other person and he politely said I'll help you asap , so I waited n waited, then ol teal hairdo came strolling out of the back room n walked over to a counter and was talking on his cell phone, I walked by him and he wasn't on the phone anymore, totally ignored me , not even a " hey you got questions" just staring away , my pride was stubborn n I wasn't about to ask for help from teal hairdo boy rather hoping he'd realize he was at work, but nope , so I walked around a bit more and said to myself " F--k it , I'll just order what I want from Amazon or TEMU without anyone feeling like there're doing me a favor , so Dueces and I bounced out , I don't think I'll be back inside the store if this is how business is conducted, I used to be a good loyal customer but not anymore- Good luck GC read more

Devin was very helpful and they had the guitar shipped out quickly. It arrived in a beautiful case and was in the condition that was advertised. I would buy from Devin and GC again in a heart beat. Thanks!! read more

They have a great selection of what you would expect from any music store. I have bought from them before and they did me right on the price and product. But if you want to trade a used amp or guitar? They only want to give you 10% off a new instrument. So try to sell your own instrument. read more

I went in to the Ocala, Florida store. Had time to play 5 guitars and pick the one I liked without anyone saying a word to me. I wanted to buy a Breedlove. I went to the counter with it. Still no help. I put the guitar back and left. I called your customer service number. The woman did not apologize when I explained the situation. Instead, she cut me off and wanted to product number to try and sell it to me. What I needed her to sell was coming back to you all as a customer. Y'all lost me and my money today. I found the guitar on another site. I will be purchasing it there. Worst experience ever read more

They did mishandle my guitar and it gave it a small dent on the body, but they made up for it. Great customer service.

The absolute worst people to deal with. The epitomy of ignorance. I will never step into that Ocala Guitar Center store again. They think they can treat people like scum and get away with it. The manager it the worst of them all. Do yourself a favor and fibd another store. I have shopped at the Gainsville store and never had any issues with the people there. Respect, that is what does not exist in the Ocala store. read more

Horrible.....absolutely horrible. I live out of state and stopped here between gigs, as nothing else was open. Walked in and browsed for about 20 minutes with no greeting or acknowledgement. There were about 6 or 7 used guitars to choose from, but surprisingly, there were 2 cool ones that I was interested in. I had to literally go find an associate to inquire about said used guitars. I stated that I would like to purchase TWO guitars and was told that I couldn't purchase them because of the local 15-day "police hold" on all used gear, way to keep it classy, GC....you are not a pawn shop. I understand the hold, but WHY IN THE F%@K are they on the floor if you can't sell them? Absolutely frustrating experience in every way. I expressed my frustration, to which I just kept receiving the same cookie-cutter, scripted, insincere. "I'm sorry, sir" response. so I then changed the subject and asked if they had Finger Ease in stock. To which the associate replied, "What's that?". Are you F$@&%!?G kidding me? I was so aggravated with this experience that I called the store once I got back to my hotel to go ahead and just reserve the two guitars. Yeah, no luck there, either. I hope this store gets closed first in your impending, inevitable bankruptcy.....you have become a shell of your former self and you are a disgrace to the music retail industry. You couldn't sell me TWO guitars, your associate didn't even know what product I was asking about even if you did (and you didn't) have it in stock, you don't sell Ernie Ball strap locks in your stores for some reason and your manager literally told me that the policies were "above his pay grade". But hey, if I ever need a Fender Strat shaped cutting board......I'll be sure to stop in and by 3 or 4. You guys ha e become a joke and you don't even know it. R.I.P. GC, read more

ZERO STARS !!!! Not even a 1 star.... I rarely write Negative reviews on businesses, however this company needs to be privy about how badly their local store is being run. First of all, the instructors are all great. They are dedicated to their students but have to teach with their hands tied behind their backs. We have experienced both retail and services at this location. The management at the local Ocala store leaves alot to be desired. Transactions and Scheduling is always a hassle and cumbersome. Nothing is cohesive, the employees are rarely on the same page. The store Manager Chris Garcia is the most rude & unprofessional person which sets the speed of the team's morale in many ways. This young man is arrogant and disrespectful to customers. The clerks and assistants do their best , but it is very evident that they are not trained in Professional Customer Service. The Retail setting and inventory seems adequate however the Service Component is lacking : which is the one Tag line that is advertised with Guitar Center Corp. ( Quality Customer Service ) It is sad that a few key employees spoil the entire reputation of what could be a quality service business in our area. We will not return to this store unless the management team is changed out. BUYER BEWARE ! read more

I would give zero stars for guitar Center Ocala location if that option were an option. Placed order online at musicians friend and paid for overnight shipping because I needed the guitar the next day and even did add-ons to the order. Received a call said they didn't ship guitat and it would ship the next morning. Would not cancel order And told me if I needed item that I could drive to the store and pick it up or if I wanted to return an item I could drive to the store to return it or drive to another store. Next day, received new tracking number, but Guitar still was not shipped on time. Requested multiple times for number to corporate office and was told each time I could leave feedback and the manager would read it. I was told I would be refunded my shipping charges And basically just have to wait till the guitar arrived. One associate did offer free strings for my inconvenience. And, I did not order from guitar center. I ordered online with musicians friend. read more

PLEASE READ THIS AND OTHER REVIEWS BEFORE CHOOSING WHERE YOU WANT TO SHOP: Went in on 2/17/23 to pick up a couple things I had been wanting for my birthday. Got a guitar, amp, and a few other small things. Went to check out with my stuff and went through adding coverages onto my purchases. Cashier accidentally added 2 of the same coverages to purchase and it wasn't found out until after my card had been ran. So the manager came over to help and gave me two options. I could leave the equipment that I was purchasing there and they would hold it for me or I could make the purchase again and just wait for my funds to be returned. Well it was my birthday weekend and I was really excited so I made the purchase again. I was told that anywhere from hours to days I would see my money returned. I was upset about this but more upset about the responsibility and customer service here. Over $700 is still missing for me and has still not returned to my account. They gave me a better ETA and have been helpful with providing details on the refund/cancellation process. I called today to ask if there were anyway to be compensated for this inconvenience from them and the store manager declined. This gives me no reason to ever return to guitar center to change this experience. I feel Guitar center did not take responsibility for causing this issue for me and could only provide "sorry, talk to your bank". I'm very disappointed and don't know if I'll ever return to a guitar center because of this. read more

I have been shopping at this store for over 2 years. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. The guitar tech is very sharp and has always been able to help me with my issues from previous stores and their 'setups'. They also have many 'top notch' teachers on staff to take lessons from. I send all my friends to this store as I enjoy myself every time I go there (even to just window shop). read more

If I could give zero stars I would! I brought my guitar here to sell it to them and as the man (Tall, gross looking with a beard and brown hair) was evaluating my guitar he broke the bridge!!!!!!! I would not recommend this place to ANYONE!! Stay away!!! These people should NOT be in business. read more

Friendly, helpful staff. Very patient with kids who wanted to try out different instruments. Good selection of guitars.

Do not take your guitar there to have work done. They had mine for 5 weeks. They would have had it for longer if I did not complain. There is no one above the store manager to complain to. I tried calling out to California and all they could say was they would send in an email to the store manager who I already complained to. The store manager seemed to be afraid to get involved. I was initially told it would only take two weeks. Also the work was shoddy. Don't waste your time with these people. They act professional but they are just kids and don't have a clue of what professional is! I would not even give it one star but it would not let me post it without it! read more

this is an outstanding music store. the staff is very friendly and very clean. the prices are not expensive but can be! the instructors are amazing! the teachers are absolutely friendly and helps to understand something if you dont get it. they have great taste of music and love to jam out with their students. i take lessons there and i havent had to complain about the quality of service or the instructors because they are fantastic! i really do suggest this music store because they know how to hook you up to start playing. there qualify products are fantastic. they sell very good brands and i am pleased with this store. only downfall is tyat the parking lot is not that big and not alot of spots to park at when busy! other than that fantastic store and the quality is perfect. read more

Visited September 8, 2016 Ocala Florida location. Had what was the WORST guitar shopping experience of my life. Was going to pick up a new $550 guitar however the store didnt have the right tremelo bar. One of the employees tried to jerry rig a different bar onto the floating bridge and said it would work "just as well," even though it clearly did not lock. I was going to purchase an attenuator which was on the floor, but the same employee said it was on layaway and wasnt for sale. Then why have it on the sales floor UNMARKED as a layaway item? The same exact thing happened when I was looking at a power supply unit, same response. Absolutely ZERO was done to make this a good shopping experience. I was going to pay cash for gear I needed for an upcoming gig and now I will NEVER return to this location again. Not to mention I purchased a 1500.00 Les Paul last year at this location. Way to treat a returning customer. Never again. read more

Sent an email asking for the serial of a used guitar listed on the website. Never received a reply. Followed up a couple days later with a call and encountered a employee who seemed put out to check. Sorry I'm making you work before I spend hundreds. Appears GC is taking the Circuit City approach to tackling online competitors like Amazon, rather than the Best Buy / Sweetwater Music approach which is customer service focused. Enjoy your inevitable bankruptcy guys. read more
