In the acoustic room an employee (older guy) was playing and singing with his friend so loud I couldn't even hear to check if the classical Taylor I was interested in was in tune. I went to the pro-audio to buy an sm7b,stand, cable and still nobody acknowledged my existence let alone speak to me! The store was not busy either time! If I can't get help making purchases I know I wont get any help if there are problems and I need to return! This store needs customer service help desperately! Awesome Service, Good Selection, Good Prices! I got really good recommendations from the gentleman pictured in this review. I came in not 100% site of which product I wanted and he narrowed it down a bit and then pulled out something I hadn't even considered which was even better for my purposes, so outstanding work my good man! There was a good selection of speakers to choose from. Do they have everything? Of course not, nobody does but it is a good selection. They can also get other stuff in from their website too. Guitar center always seems to have a decent price on products. This location isn't as large as Tempe Arizona but they have crammed as much as possible in here and as mentioned the service was great with my guy. All in all this is a good place. Never had any issues here, I have purchased many items from guitar centers nation wide. Until today I pick up the rattle shaker seen in the picture. When I got to the register the lady cashier told me my total and I asked her how much was the rattle shaker and she said $20. I told her and showed her the picture post it here and she checked with to supervisors or managers to see if they can change it, because it was in the wrong place. But they said no, so obviously I did not get it. The lady mentioned that the drum person was promoted which is great but maybe have someone overlooking that dept. while you hire someone. There was plenty of employees talking! I was there yesterday and I wish I had gotten the young man's name. I was there to buy gifts for two people and I really didn't have a clue. The store was busy and I checked all around until I found someone who worked there and I just said I NEED HELP. I told him what and for whom and he took me to exactly what I needed. And I left the store spending about $40 less than I expected to. I didn't need to go to the long line at the register, he took me to one off to the side and had me in and out in minutes. Bradley, who is supposed to be the customer service manager at Guitar Center, knows nothing about customer service. 1st, I had to find somebody to help in the audio section, for there was someone ahead of me waiting for help. When Bradley finally got there, he took like 15 minutes with the guy in font of me. A good customer service person would have found help for me. I know, because I own my own business. Instead, Bradley then got on the phone while he was with that customer. Basically I had to wait like 20 minutes for a 2 minute transaction. read more

I came in searching to learn more about what is the best guitar to learn on [between acoustic & bass guitar] & also potentially purchase a keyboard. They helped me a lot with with all ALL the questions I had. I got a pretty nice keyboard for a really great price, and got a bass that came in even better condition than they suggested, which suggests a lot of honesty and integrity on the business' part. Place is always busy, and it's stock full wall to wall because the actual building is so small. I had alot of friends that worked at GC when I was involved in the OKC music scene. But didn't buy that much there unless it was from my bud Johnny. When I went to Chattanooga the first time it was pretty bad, til I started to talking to Todd and the guys at the front desk. These guys are knowledgeable on alot of gear, and they aren't just making a paycheck, they're trying to help. I've seen some rude ass people in there and they are polite wven to them. And everytime I've gone in there they've been busy for the most part, yet they were always running to unlock acoustics and make sure questions were answered. The guys who work in lessons are a bit less should I say eager, and it's a shame cause they may not make much money, but they have a pretty cool job. I've bought my PA and 2 Gibson acoustics from these guys and aside from Dave's guitar shop, Gruhn and Norms just to name drop a few, i can say this is one of the best guitar stores ive been to. Most of the staff is caring for their customers and knowledgeable and they remember folks. Inventory is pretty good considering theyre in a mall snd they have alot of high end guitars and are never hesitant about letting anyone play anything. First time in a Guitar Center store. I went in to purchase a speaker cable. Waz was the first salesperson I encountered. He did a good job of helping me find the cable I wanted. When I went to check out, I asked if I could use a $5 coupon I had received via email from GC. Waz wasn't sure how to handle the coupon, so he asked the manager for help. I didn't catch the manager's name, but he is easy to spot with his long hair. The manager's attitude was poor from the start. He acted as though it was a big waste of his time to be helping with such a trivial task as typing in a coupon code and printing out a receipt. It wasn't until I got back to my car that I noticed the manager had not given me the $5 coupon credit. At that point, you couldn't have paid me $5 to go back into the store and deal with the store manager that gave me such a poor customer interface experience. I called recently to schedule and apparently they had "expired". I can't get a refund, can't get corporate to call me back. We had a bad experience and their customer service SUCKS. I went to Knoxville yesterday to look for my first guitar... one guy kinda helped. One wouldn't even leave the desk to help me when I told him I had a question about a guitar in the room... Went to Chattanooga today and I can not tell you how much of a help those guys were. So eager to help, even though they were busy. Apologized so many times because they were busy. I was patient, and completely understand that they were busy. The apologies for being busy really meant a lot, because they really seemed to care, and it kinda bothered them that they couldn't give the personal time the way that they wanted to. One guy sat down with me to go over two guitars (even though he was definitely multitasking and handling other tasks).. dude was a boss! another guy took the time to give his opinions and help me find what I needed. I will go out of my way to shop at Chattanooga from now on. Very friendly and personal! I can tell that this store really is concerned with meeting the customers needs, and they show that. Guitar Center Chattanooga. Beware of switch and bait.  I thought I was buying a bundled deal for a Yamaha P-125  Keyboard (Store Floor Model) at special price.  No box simply they loaded it into my vehicle and I was a happy camper until I ordered the 3 pedal floor pedal for the P-125 Keyboard and it didn't work with my Keyboard.  Well what did I discover I was sold a cheaper version Keyboard.  Not what I had negotiated for. I asked for them to replace the Keyboard and even agreed to pay an additional $100, but no they said this model did not come with a stand and they wanted $200.  I told them they could shove it where the sun does not shine. I will never darken this store or any of its affiliates ever again.  Caveat Emptor applies with this buying experience.  And I certainly advise you to beware of these folks.  I would avoid them like the bubonic plague!!!   If looking for a Yamaha Keyboard, deal with the folks at Sweetwater Music.  They are absolutely fabulous.  Customer Service with a smile and the sense to know how to treat a customer. I am not a musician nor have I ever been. I've strummed a few chords and decided to give bass guitar a try. I researched a little and came to the Chattanooga store for a Squire Affinity PJ Bass starter pack. The amp was total crap and started giving me a lot of trouble within a couple of weeks. I took the amp back to the store to exchange it but was told they couldn't do that because it was part of a pack. I told them I live a 100 miles away but no help. Came back a few weeks later with the entire pack but the amp didn't show the problem in the store so they offered a new cable as it was known to be a problem. The guy there asked me to try it for a while then if it didn't; work bring it back for a return. Again, 100 miles away. Should have returned it then. Problem starts up again but its another few weeks before I could get back to the store. By this time the deadline has passed for a return and I am told they can't help me. I explain that I've been there twice before with the same problem, that they had asked me to try a new cable but I was still having the same problem. I was dealing with the young guy at the counter and he was having to ask Jeff and Heather, the managers about the issue. They were busy chatting and couldn't come to talk to me themselves. Finally, Jeff and Heather passed along that it was a Fender issue and I needed to contact them for help. This was my first and LAST purchase from Guitar Center. I had a problem I got no help resolving my issue and was sufficiently delayed so that they could reject my return and save the sale. Here is my thoughts on the situation: 1. Find someplace else to buy what you want and not Guitar Center unless you are experienced and know what about your wanting. 2. If you do buy something and have the slightest issue, take it back immediately and don't let them "work" with you to try to fix it. 3. Don't buy anything in a pack as it adds an unusual level of difficulty to the issue. Buy the individual components from a locally owned store or Amazon but not at the Chattanooga Guitar Center store. 4. Don't buy this pack particularly as the components are noted to be crap. I should have done more research. 5. Find someplace else to shop. read more

Always so helpful!!! Went in looking with my daughter bc she's interested in learning to play the guitar. The guy walked her around and let her try different things and explained the differences and what would be best for a beginner. Then, they told us about the lessons they offer!! Tons of options and the kids even get to put on a show with a band they create!! Love the real experience they give you with your lessons!! Friendly staff. Often they seemed pulled in too many directions at the same time but that's because the store is often busy and energetic. Its worth being patient because the staff will give everyone the attention they need. The downside. A limited selection and they seem to be slow to restock a lot of time. Perhaps due to store being in a smaller market? Writing this during the 2nd week if February and the shelves still depleted from X-mas sales that have not yet been resupplied. The BIG upside. Its a music store. And the staff knows this. That means people with sincere attitude, patient, and a some savvy haggle skills can negotiate better prices. 90/100 read more
