Example 1- My medical records were mixed up with someone else's when I transferred to another center. This could have serious consequences. These extra documents were discovered while the new doctor was flipping through the pages. Example 2- My allergy drops were lost in the mail, when I went to pick up replacements, they were unaccounted for and so was the allergist who told me they would be there. After 30 minutes of waiting, several extra staff went in the back to "mix" my $200 drops without the allergist present. Example 3- Dr. Sauvegeau was nice to start but didn't address my chronic sinus issues. He kept pushing surgery that "might" solve the issue. He started to make me feel like I was overreacting and he began to seem annoyed with me since I wanted to take a more conservative approach. After several visits I realized that he never took the time to really listen and he seemed arrogant. Example 4- It was beyond difficult to reach the allergist; I called several times daily for over two weeks, and left messages only to finally find out she had never faxed my requested records. Overall, I had a very frustrating experience and ultimately had to leave. I am now seeing Dr. Sacks at the Nashville OAT center and have been highly impressed.

Made me uncomfortable considering he's an ent doctor. 2. The woman who work at the front desk were never very friendly. Felt a little DMVish. 3. I have found overall better practices elsewhere. I called, got an appointment for two days later and suffered. I was told to expect that it was going to take a few hours as they were probably going to test me for allergies and do all sorts of tests. I got there, checked in, sat for a couple of minutes before I was moved to the next room. What transpired next was meeting a doctor, getting a cat scan of my sinuses (different department,) taking a breathing test (different department as well,) getting allergy tested (also different department) and finally getting back to the doctor's office where I did have to wait because she was in with another patient. Each one of these departments worked pretty well in synch with each other, and I never had much of a wait anywhere. While waiting on an allergy test I got taken back for a second breathing test. Never really felt like I was waiting other than for a 15 minute prick test to develop one time. I met another doctor post testing, they gave me some steroids, went over what I was allergic to, and got me started on a much stronger steroid and antibiotic armed with a plan and knowing finally, for the first time in my life, what I'm allergic to. Follow ups got me tested in a glass box and prescribed some nasal stuff, but after two+ months of being as sick as a dog it felt like I'd been given a second chance. Keep in mind to bring some entertainment - even if you're on a fast track like I feel I was it can be a long freaking day.

It may be run like a factory, but it is a very, very well-run factory that delivers terrific results. I'm not sure why Jackie gave such a low review. I understand that VASAP's services were in excess of her needs, but she's the one who chose to go to there. My understanding that VASAP tells all patients that their initial appointment will take about 4 hours. I didn't form a very personal relationship with anyone at VASAP, but I'm OK with that. I think a big part of the reason is that they are PACKED with doctors, nurses, and staff. For me, that was great. My phone calls and emails have always been promptly returned, and someone is always willing to help (I've frequently left messages with questions or requests for refills. VASAP has always returned the calls before the time promised in the voicemail recording). They do a fantastic job of keeping records, so everyone I've spoken to has been able to review my records and help me with every problems I've had. I prefer VASAP's responsiveness to patients to trading that for the warm-fuzzies of a personal relationship. They're busy because they're good, and I don't hold that against them. I have the full trio- bad asthma, bad sinuses, and bad allergies. My first appointment was roughly 4 hours, and I think I took all of the tests they give. They'll give you lots of information that day, but they'll also send you home with all of their advice written in a packet of papers. They gave me information on reducing allergens in my home and lots of other aspects of living with allergies and asthma. The meds VASAP prescribed that day made a huge difference in my day-to-day problems with my asthma, sinuses, and allergies. After a year, I was doing great and felt fantastic. Then I started doing allergy shots and got even better. I finally know what "normal" feels like. Thanks to the effective treatment, I may be able to avoid sinus surgery after all, but VASAP continues to carefully monitor my health. Bottom line: If you just get sniffles a few times a year, your primary care physician can probably help you control them. If your primary care physician refers you to an allergist, VASAP is an excellent choice. (I wrote this review on my own because I'm so happy with the experiences I've had at VASAP. Neither VASAP nor any of their affiliates have encouraged or even mentioned online reviews.)
