I ordered a set of air control buttons for a Jacuzzi tube from Guillens. When I attempted to install them I ran into an issue that they would not work. I sent in a Customer service request and the return ansewer was to watch a video I had seen several times. There is not a phone number for customer support as they will only work through the email, not solving the problem. Lots of smoke but no action. The place is really poor all around. Surprised there are that many good reviews. I needed a Hansgrohe replacement faucet handles. The part number's description was inaccurate, resulting in me getting 2 hot handles when the part was advertised as neutral. First, it took 2+ weeks for the part to arrive. When I realized there was a hot and a cold different part, as I was installing it, and they had actually sent me two hot faucet handles. So I called them. Their own customer service took awhile to find the correct numbers, only then to tell me that they wouldn't even cover the shipping on the replacement part, which I felt was only reasonable. I could have or should have asked that they cover return shipping on the extra one and replace with the correct one, but all I asked was that they send me free shipping on the replacement and I'll eat the cost of the handle. Their unwillingness to do this even when their part was wrong is just ridiculous. Armed with the right number, I found the right part at Chicago Faucet Shoppe for 35% less and the shipping was a fraction of what Guillen's charges. I had ordered a pump for my Jacuzzi spa through Guillen's. I installed it and unfortunately it began leaking around the 90-day point. The company offers a 90-day warranty, so by the time I reported it, I was beyond the 90 days. Initially the company declined to replace, but listened to my logical explanation in timing and graciously replaced the pump. I am SO grateful for this company and will stand by their customer service as the BEST I've ever experienced! Parts may fail, but customer service prevails above all in my world. In other words, they sent me the wrong item. When I sought to return it, I was required to pay the return shipping costs and they said they would charge me a restocking fee even though It was their fault for sending me the wrong unit. Ordered the in-wall toilet tank (they first quoted me $10 shipping and 10 days later emailed to tell me it would cost $90) in early February (it's now mid-April)...received it damaged and had to return it. That took several back and forth emails to get them to pay for shipping. I was told the replacement was shipped out and a tracking # would be forthcoming. Nope. Many, many, many, many emails and calls to their "call center" later, and no resolution. Was told different things each time...maybe it was FedEx; it's been shipped, but not sure where it is; we'll update the ticket and someone will be in touch (was told this one 3 times and NOBODY ever followed up.) Needed a replacement part for a Blanco faucet. Sent a picture of my faucet to be sure it was the right model, and the $15 part was shipped with an additional $16 shipping charge. Part was wrong. Emailed them with another picture of the faucet and the part that obviously was incorrect. Called and was told they were looking into the right part. Didn't hear back for a week, so emailed for an update. Response was they were calling Grohe (wrong manufacturer). Emailed again and was told to return the part at my expense with a 25% restock charge, and contact Blanco for assistance. Moral of the story is you better be absolutely certain you're ordering the correct part, because if you don't-- they couldn't be less helpful. read more

I've spent over a month with multiple emails and phone calls trying to obtain some fairly simple parts. Communication has been difficult as customer service reps don't want you to talk to technicians or managers. The first package was 90% wrong parts. The second package (and I'll give them this, it was sent for free though it took forever to get here) was 70% wrong parts. Today I received the third attempt to mail me the parts and AGAIN 70% not what I requested. I contacted a manager only to make sure they knew what was (or rather wasn't) going on. While he was pleasant and wanted to try and fix things, after spending 1 month and 3 days, I can't wait any longer. I'm going to Home Depot and pick up what I need. Though I was happy to find the part I needed, ordered it & received it as expected, I was NOT happy to find out that we ordered an extra one by mistake (clearly my fault) and the company is charging me a 25% restocking fee. While I understand the economics behind such a charge, 25% is excessive, especially since I was keeping the non-extra item I intended to order and paying my own return shipping. Their policy is clear, so bad on me of course, still I find it hard to swallow in today's competitive market. This is why I buy most everything from Amazon more and more, since trying to support the little guys becomes economically difficult with policies such as these. read more

Guillen proved useless for me. Here is what I wrote to them in my customer satisfaction (or lack there of) survey: Overall I am very displeased with the level of support offered by Guillen's. My initial call to order parts went as good as could be expected; during the call I specified needing a black two prong switch vice the option for a white three prong switch shown in the email diagram sent to me. That was confirmed by the gentleman taking my order. I received the wrong part. I called to investigate and the woman I spoke with knew next to nothing about any part or part function or part options Guillen offers. I had to explain the discrepancy at least six times to which she had no solution other than to tell me she doesn't know anything about the parts (what is her job then?) so she would have to put me in for a tech assist explaining to me a technically informed individual would contact me within 48 hours. A week later, no call. I had to shoot another email to which I got a response but at this point Guillen has proven useless as I have solved the problem without them and will never use Guillen again in the future knowing how business is conducted. As displeased as I am with Guillen having expended way too much time and energy on employees who clearly do not care about the customer and are simply collecting a paycheck, I am inclined to make plenty of Yelp reviews stating this and suggesting to other consumers to take their business online to Amazon where they could find a much cheaper option with the same or better customer service. read more

Guillens is fantastic - their online support is wonderful! I had an ongoing warranty issue with Jacuzzi. Jacuzzi told me I needed a new part for my tub and they would not cover it under warranty. I ended up purchasing the part through Guillen's website because their prices were good. It arrived in short order. But, when I installed it, it failed to resolve the issue. After numerous conversations and e-mails with Jacuzzi and Guillens, the manager at Guillens personally intervened. She called senior level contacts at Jacuzzi. She provided a recap of my situation and helped focus Jacuzzi's problem on the root cause. For the first time in two months, I think I am close to getting my very expensive tub fixed by Jacuzzi. I never expected a parts vendor for a supplier to step up to the plate like this. Their support was unbelieveable! Horrible customer service. They screw up, repeatedly, and never offer even the simplest apology, not even "I'm sorry". I was having trouble finding a certain sink my wife wants in a certain color because it's been discontinued, but it was listed on their website. I called them to check to see if they really had it. They said they'd get back to me, and even sent me an email with a tracking number saying they'd get back to me the next day. They didn't. I called them the day after that and they said they'd left a voicemail message for me. (They didn't.) They said that they don't ship sinks, I'd have to come to their store (1200 miles away) to pick it up -- despite the fact that their website has an Add to Cart button for each and every one of their sinks, and lets you specify shipping to another state. I said "Fine, do you at least have the sink? Because if so I'll get a courier to go buy it and send it to me." She put me on hold and then blind-transferred me to a very annoyed-sounding person. He told me they neither have the sink, and that they don't ship sinks anyway. I asked why their website shows sinks as being available to order/ship and he said (without apologizing) that the site was "generic" and that everything is listed as orderable whether it's really orderable or not. I asked, "Don't you think that's a little misleading?", but he refused to agree, and said, "You can be misled by anything you want to be." I asked about the fact that the site also shows two sinks available with Add to Cart buttons in colors that aren't *really* available to order, and he got even more annoyed, saying that the site has thousands of products and that it's basically not possible for them to have the site accurately show what they really have and what they don't. Again, never even a simple "I'm sorry." In the end, I'm glad they didn't have the sink, I'd rather not give them my money. ------- UPDATE: The response from the business owner is indicative of what's wrong with this company. She says that they'll update the website, as though that was the only problem I pointed out in my review. What she completely missed is how horrible the staff was when I made my inquiry. Unfortunately, the Jacuzzi part I ordered was not the part I received but a PresAir part they sent as a replacement - no disclosure at the time of order and both order and packing slip showed the Jacuzzi information. The Jacuzzi part I ordered was $29.95 but the PresAir part they sent me is $12.91 on their site. Sent owner a letter making her aware of this in October but don't see this pricing issue has been fixed. Hope the in-store experience is better than the online because the online is a "1". read more

I ordered a stopper for a 22 year old sink. Guillens did not have it in stock, but ordered it from supplier. They kept in touch with me by email on the state of the order and when the item would arrive. The wait was not a problem, since the stopper had not worked in several years, and I had just decided to fix it. The stopper arrived, and it is exactly the right one--fits perfectly. My husband called Guillen specifically for a Kohler valve for our tub. He was directed to their Medley warehouse location where they said he could pick up. Upon arrival, he was then redirected to their Flagler location where he was met with the worst Customer Service ever and told to head back up to Medley. He spent the entire day traveling back and forth to both locations trying to locate this simple replacement part. I visited this store twice and will never return. The woman that 'helped' me ( I don't know if she's the owner, short dark hair and glasses) was quite a disappointment and also rude. The first time I went looking for a Toto washlet toilet. She absolutely bad-mouthed the product and I walked out feeling more confused than when I went in. The second time I went to buy a Grohe shower because she had explained the product previously and quoted me a good price. I was ready to buy the shower faucet and her price went up by $100! I showed her a printout from another store for $175 less but I had to order it. She absolutely refused to lower the price and then proceeded to criticize customers who asked for discounts with the Grohe sales rep who was at the store. I don't know how one makes a living with that kind of service. That's one place I will never visit again. This woman is a poor salesperson and rude !!! read more

Needed help with getting replacement parts for an older Kohler toilet. Called and spoke with Marlon who was exceptionally helpful. Ordered the parts over the phone and picked up early the next day. Store was easy to find and parking was no problem. I had some concerns about a gasket and Marlon M. assured me that it would work and said if it didn't to call him back (actually he said to call either way). I ordered Jacuzzi parts on March 27, 2017. They placed the order and sent me a confirmation stating that they had 2 of the parts and the third one had to be ordered and I should receive it within 7 to 10 days. Today is May 17th and I have received one part. I have called the company 13 times and every time I call they give me another ship date. They finally told me after I demanded to talk with a Supervisor that one of the parts was discontinued and they would ship the other one. Still no part. read more

When I recently decided to get a new water-efficient toilet, and after I had done the usual online research and selected the make/model, my plumber suggested ordering it from Amazon--but I decided to give a local business some business instead (what a concept). I called Guillen after reading a few good reviews on Yelp. They were so nice and helpful from the first phone inquiry. They went ahead and ordered the toilet for me after we spoke, without requiring payment up front, and it came in just a few days later. When we went to pick it up, they carried it to our truck, opened it up there for our inspection, and there was a small factory flaw in the base. (Surprising, as the make is well-respected brand Kohler, but these things happen.) As soon as I spotted the flaw, I said I would like to order another one. No problem at all--they boxed up the piece and put the order for the replacement through to Kohler on the spot. They also held the top component of the toilet (which was fine) for us until the new part came in so we wouldn't have to store it. The replacement came in a few days later, and it was fine. I can't even imagine what this process would have been like if I had bought the toilet online. I also purchased another item while in the shop and was assured that it is returnable if I turn out not to need it, no problem. I was overall impressed by the customer service and human touch. There seemed to be good communication among the various employees we dealt with, and all were very courteous and friendly. It's also a nice showroom, not large, but has a nice selection of items and they are happy to walk you through alternative models/colors in the catalogs, etc. I would be very happy to go back to Guillen for other plumbing supply needs in the future. read more

I called and inquired about parts for a jacuzzi. I ended up ordering one part which they said was in stock and would ship that day. Later the same day I get an email which states that the part is not in stock and they have to order it. I called them the next day and the sales person says well things happen and they can't get the part for 7-10 days and then ship it to me. I cancelled the order and hopefully will get a refund. I have been a customer of Guillen for over 15 years and I have to say that they have always treated me with respect and excellent service. Recently I needed a replacement part for my kitchen faucet and I went to the local store for help. Not only did they took care of my need but contacted the manufacturer so I could get warranty replacement at no cost. The owner took the time to explain the importance of using certified factory replacements (instead of imitations!). In the end, I left the store a more educated consumer and knowing that I can come back to Guillen for my plumbing needs and most likely will get the same high level of customer service.
