    Crooks! Bait and switch the mortgage rate, then don't answer the phone when we call to take issue. Stay well away.

    Our experience with LandHome Financial has been the worst by far. We started working with loan…read moreofficer Tricia Mahony back in July. She informed us that we would qualify without using both of our credit profiles, and that using the borrower's higher credit score would help us secure a better VA loan rate. Based on her guidance, we proceeded. By August 26, after repeated excuses from Tricia, repeated requests for the same documents we had already submitted, and no real progress, I left a message with her manager Nick Morgan requesting that she be removed from our file. Tricia had even claimed at one point that she never received certain documents, only to later "find" them--just days before closing. She also called my realtor upset that my husband had left a review about the poor communication, and after that, we heard nothing more from her. Calls were screened through customer service, and we asked that messages be relayed to management, but no changes were made. Closing was originally scheduled for September 5, 2025, then pushed to September 12, 2025. We were told the file was with the VA, but when we contacted the VA directly, they confirmed they had never received it. Finally, on September 15, 2025--nearly three months after our application--we were sent a denial letter by email. Even with two closing dates scheduled, they waited until two weeks before closing to pull the non-borrowing spouse's credit, despite the authorization being signed back in July. The denial cited debt-to-income issues caused by the Non-Borrowing Spouse's debt lowering the borrower's DTI, something that should have been identified during the initial soft pull--not months later at the very end of the process. We even escalated the issue to the office of CEO Brad Waite, but have not received any meaningful response. This entire process has been unprofessional, upsetting, and by far the worst mortgage experience we have ever endured.
