Rooms: Exceptionally CLEAN. The housekeepers PAULA & DEBRA were so nice, friendly and accommodating. They are down to earth and a true definition of southern charm. If you stay here do these 2 ladies a favor and hook them up. They go above and beyond. They are human though too. The rooms here are LARGE. Spacious. Well lit and comfortable. They have a kitchenette. Decent size fridge. Amenities: Breakfast (many options) snack bar, Fitness center = CLEAN, Lobby area with computers and larger and comfy, Pool is saline water clean and well kept. Patio and grill were nice since you don't normally see this at a hotel. Another patio area has a gas firepit. Laundry room is not expensive and is very responsible too. Luggage carts are I'm great condition. Free wifi. Overall we throughly enjoyed our stay. It truly felt like home . We didn't want to leave but unfortunately had to get back to our daily grind. The people here are so nice and friendly. They felt like we knew them all for years. Definitely coming back next time I need a hotel in Cartersville. The manager (his name began with an M) is a awesome realistic gentleman.

Every other hotel was completely sold out so we were unable to leave. This hotel offered us another room, which wasn't much better. So we had to stay. The second a room became avaliable at The Element, which by the way is AMAZING, we checked out. Hilton was kind enough to return our points, but the hotel itself wouldn't refund any other monies we paid to stay in this mold, greasy, disgustingly filthy room. Upon reading the reviews here, I'd say we aren't alone. My advice - don't let the pictures the hotel posts fool you. Look at the ones actual guests have taken, that will show you the truth.

We were given credit in which we got a couples massage, gun shooting and horseback riding! They have many activities on the resort and the staff is extremely welcoming and friendly! The only downside was we were told something different about the credit and got charged $456 for the massage, the staff realized their mistake and luckily granted us what we were initially told. (I will admit the massage was mediocre for the price.... in my person opinion I wouldn't really recommend doing it but the spa itself is lovely) We visited woodlands grill for lunch and dinner and were extremely surprised with how tasty the food was! 10/10 recommend eating there at least once and visiting the beer garden for additional food options because the menu for the most part is the same at the restaurant and it is the only restaurant on the resort. The beignets were soooooo good, everyone needs to try this. I also recommend getting dinner earlier rather than later because they do run out of certain foods towards the end of the night. It's pricey in the fact that you have to pay for every little thing. (a small water bottle is $3.00) Highly recommend for families or couples just wanting a weekend getaway! For families with children there are lots of activities to keep them occupied such as corn hole, smores outside every night and bike riding that you can rent! I will suggest booking the different excursions in advance because it does get booked very quickly and certain excursions (axe throwing, archery and horseback riding is only available till 3pm at least that's what we were told. Regardless, I will definitely be back one day!

Oh, feral cats living under my porch, fed by an employee two buildings down at the Town Hall. Calling and visiting the front desk, they were friendly and apologetic and sent bottles of wine, but wine does not stop mosquitos biting. "Engineering" never showed up, I presume because they don't exist. 12th consecutive year here for an annual golf tournament. Something has changed and their room care has plunged. Literally an insect infested room with no response beyond "here is some wine and we're oh so sorry". If you come here, bring Deet to spray on your body and bug killer to spray around the perimeter of the floors. Oh, mosquitos on the toilet as well. Gym weight equipment was essentially non-functional as all thepoarts had loose bolts and pulley/cable links broken. Barnsley has started to become a dump. I'd bet Private Equity now owns some or all of it and has pulled their usual "strip away expenses and maintenance and no one will notice", as decided by a 24 year old finance major. Yeah, people notice. I wont come back.

We stayed in Gen. Corse's Suite which had a super comfortable king size bed, a giant jacuzzi garden tub, heated bathroom tile floor, television, and more. There were so many thoughtful touches, like handcut flowers in a vase, a personalized note from the owner greeting us with our keys, corkscrew, ice bucket, and wine glasses. We had the privilege of speaking with Lynn, the owner, and she was so helpful and friendly. The inn was clean and beautifully decorated. Everything is within convenient driving distance. We will definitely visit again!

The location canNOT be beat - right across from the lake with great access to hiking trails and fishing holes. Even just walking and "setting" along the dam was so nice and breezy. Porch setting with a great view of the lake was relaxing. The beds are comfortable (if a bit high for this 5'3" short-legged lady) and the homemade quiche for breakfast was super creamy, with some berries for extra fiber. The owners served breakfast and though did *NOT* REQUIRE masks for Covid protection, they did wear masks and also showed off their extra-disinfectant machine and other anti-Covid preparations that they were taking. VERY affordable for us ~ $130+taxes and fees for 1 Friday night during Covid, I'm not sure if that was a lower price due to quarantine but it was a definite value from our perspective. I highly recommend this stop to people who want to spend time in Cartersville or at Lake Allatoona or are just passing through and want a non-hotel experience - you will love it!!
