We used Guardian out of Duluth/Superior to rid us of a bad bedbug infestation that we inadvertently brought home from our travels. Their team was knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and extremely thorough. Before hiring them, I tried every over-the-counter fog, spray and powder available but could not eliminate those sneaky bugs on my own. It was a nightmare. Guardian was expensive (although much less than the 2 competitive quotes), but worth every $$ to sleep easy again!! They even followed up to make sure we were happy. What a great team!! read more

One more thing to add..... they came out to collect their boxes. We weren't at the house, so the technician used his keys. Collected all but one, because he said the basement key didn't work. It hasn't changed, so I don't know what his issue is. They charged me $150 to collect these and for one missing box. Beware!!! Guardian Pest is absolutely the worst! When I requested service I was very clear that my problem was red squirrels, chipmunks and voles. I talk to Julie explain exactly what the issues were and that the squirrels were in the walls. She assured me that the person coming out would take care of the situation. Someone did come out to set bait boxes. That was it! I caught at least 15 Chipmunks, 21 voles and a red squirrel myself. When I complained about the cost she told me that they don't do anything about squirrels and if the other rodents don't take the bait it's not their problem. She also said that the manager would call me - never happened! Don't waste your time or money with this dreadful company! They did absolutely nothing except set out bait boxes that I could have bought at L&M for $25. They want me to pay $500 but they didn't take care of the problem! I still have the issue I started with. I used Guardian years ago and was satisfied with the service, which is the only reason I called them again. I used Guardian for a small rat control issue, which was solved on the list visit. I worked with the technician to vacuum out the poison which he put into my raised food garden beds. I asked him not to return for a scheduled third visit. On the report, there is none of this recorded and they are attempting to bill me for three full visits. There is nothing in his report about removing the poison from the food gardens. I never saw the guy for the third visit. I wish I had read the reviews on this business before using them. read more

I THINK THIS COMPANY MAY HAVE TURNED INTO PROFESSIONAL RIPOFF'S! I had a wasp problem and their contract. The exact wording is, extra service requests (ESRs)Pertaining to this program will be handled promptly for no additional charge within 30 days of initial treatment. They sprayed for wasps and didn't get rid of them. They didn't spray everywhere their wasps were the first time. 2nd time they came back they sprayed everywhere but they didn't kill them. They said the contract states they will only do 2 applications. They billed me the full amount of $188 for 15 minutes of work. And the wasps were still there. I tried to get them to come back out and they wouldn't. I even offered to purchase more of the product they sprayed with from them and I would pay them 100% of the bill plus for the product and I would do it myself but they wouldn't do it. They said they would hurt my credit if I didn't pay them. This situation is not resolved!... The technician that was dispatched to my property and I had a conversation. In that conversation, he admitted that the contract did not read that they would only come out twice, and in fact, the contract did say they would come out until the wasps were gone. He said that the people in the office were young and tenacious. He also admitted to me that the product that the technician used was not always strong enough to kill wasps. He said that had the technician used this new product they're using it would've definitely killed the wasps. He asked me if we could come to an agreement and I would pay something because they did come out and attempt and do some work and being a good businessman, myself. I said I would. I offered $50 of the $188.00 bill. He said that wasn't good enough and that he would have to tell them we couldn't come up with a deal and they probably would send it to collections which would hurt my credit, which is the best credit one can have. We struck a deal for a hundred dollars and I paid them $100 and at the bottom of my check wrote paid in full. Yesterday I received a bill for $88.So either the technician lied to me or when he got back the billing department would not stand by the deal we made. At this point, I am ready to call my attorney and sue them for harassment and take back not only the hundred dollars but sue them for time and frustration.I was so frustrated last night that I couldn't sleep read more

Guardian Pest Solutions Nightmare Out of all my experiences with companies over the 30 plus years of my life, I have never experienced a situation quite like this. This tops it for me, as the worst customer experience, I have ever had. I wish I could go back in time, and slap myself for ever googling for pest control in my area and picking this local company in Superior, Wisconsin. Maybe you had good service with them, and I guess, great for you, but I did not. I understand they may be understaffed, but pick up the damn phone and call your customers. I understand it may be difficult to hire techs, but it shouldn't be hard to hire more customer care folks to call customers who are not getting any service when they hire you. As background, I work in the software IT business. I am a high level engineer who works tickets with my company, submitted by our customers. I work customer service, every single day. It is what I excel at, outside of my technical skills, and I know how 1. you should deal with upset customers and 2. how important it is to communicate clearly and finally 3. how utterly important it is to do what you say you are going to do, and follow through. This does not take a college degree to understand. This is simple, very simple, stuff. I would have to say I simply cannot (and I tried to be nice and remove my original 1 star review here when they attempted to make up for the first half of this issue) recommend this company to anyone. Because of character limit, I have to cut to the chase on what I experienced: Basically, hired a company to provide me pest control for outside my house (May). Did not show up for over a month after hiring them. Called in to complain/cancel part of service (July). No show. Called back in to cancel service entirely, and requested my account be deleted (Mid July). They apologize and say they want to do service for free now. Okay. Guy finally comes out (July 26th), does some stuff, idk, doesn't talk to me. Leaves $400 plus bill in door. Call in. Supervisor swears to me I won't be charged, says there will be a note on my account. 14 days later (Aug 9th), still get charged. Card declines at dinner because of it. Have to call back in next day to try and get a refund. Rep says they don't see my cancelling, I get raise my voice, threatens to hang up on me (I am not cursing, or attacking her verbally). Speak with another rep, finally get memories jogged. Get a call back that the charge will be refunded. (Aug 10th) Actors: Adrian - Office Supervisor who promised I wouldn't be charged Nicole - Needs to learn that telling an upset customer who got charged over $400 for something they didn't ask for, is not grounds to threaten to hang up on them. Get customer service training. Julie - Probably only innocent person here, not her fault in my opinion that any of this happened. Actually showed that she cared about my situation. Good on Julie, someone give her a raise. Over Night Dude (did not get name, called and got him at 7:30 PM) - I don't know what you exactly do for guardian, but good on you for getting a job where you can sit back and literally say to a customer that you can't even look up their account "I just work the night shift. Sorry". Right. Sweet gig you got here. Owners of this company - Implore you to review this situation with the above and learn from it. If you can't hire more techs to make commitments, then maybe have customer reps call proactively to customers to explain why they aren't getting service. This is common sense business stuff. Come on. Apparently do not know how to communicate with each other or make appropriate notes in an account. Called June 28, 2019 and spoke to Penny to arrange service for my parents house in Superior. I explained very clearly that this was service for my parents house (who no longer live there) and that I was the main contact. I also explained that because I reside in the Twin Cities, I would have to drive up to meet the tech. Was told I would be contacted between July 1-3 by the tech and it would be 24 hours ahead of time and would need to pay their $90 up-front fee. Great, right? Not. Even. Close!!! Paid the $90 and waited. When I hadn't heard from them by 10:00 pm on July 3, I called at 10:05 pm to leave a message for Penny that we were canceling because they had not followed through with anything. When I entered Penny's extension, I received the night shift guy, who is clueless or really doesn't care about his job. Explained that we were canceling their service and why. Told him we wanted the $90 we had to pay up front refunded immediately and that we would be going elsewhere. While he claimed he would make the note in our account, he, quite obviously, did not. How do we know he did not make that note? Well, I get a call July 9 from Ashley at Guardian wanting to CONFIRM our appointment for July 10!! SERIOUSLY??? I had not spoken to ANYONE since June 28 and you now want to confirm an appointment that I was not even called to set up?? Do these people even communicate with each other? I, very politely, explained the whole issue, yet again, and all she can say is "So you want to cancel the appointment for the 10th?" *Face palm* Yes! Especially since I NEVER set up the appointment in the first place and just explained to you that we went elsewhere for service. And, what part of "I canceled your service on July 3" do they not understand? You know they do not seem to communicate with each other OR make their notes in an account very clear as I received another call from them this morning (the 10th) at 8:31 am. Be forewarned, this company is one of the most ill run and managed businesses. I hired them to deal with ants in one rental property, whereby they never showed up to the house, nor did they follow up with me. On another property, they were to spray a few times a year, inside and outside of the apartment building. I received a bill on February 28th, and contacted my tenants to ask if they were happy with the service. They stated that no one from Guardian entered their house. I learned that they were not home, the Guardian rep never called them to schedule an appointment, yet they charged me for the full service. I immediately cancelled my work order, only to be charged a few months later for the service again. I just called and spoke to a representative who admits that I had a stop work order, yet they still charged my credit card. That is absolutely unacceptable. Moreover, last year whilst they were still working for me, one of their technicians left, taking all of business contact numbers and information. They had to contact me through my e-mail to obtain all of my information again. What kind of company does not keep such information on file in their main office? What kind of business gives such information to a technician? This company is messy, ineffective and unethical: perhaps one of the worst business experiences that I have had. read more
