I knew that they needed to build their self stem, self awareness in this world full of bullying. Confidence is my gift to them. I tried the Usko and parks and rec but to me it was too cheotic and disorganized... I didn't wanted my kids to get lost in the mix. I came to this studio. I noticed all the class/kids had the instructor *Senseis attention, I noticed that the sensei was teaching way more than punches or self defense. Accountability, work for what you want and to be a better human being, feel comfortable in your own skin that cannot be thought with sugar coating our babies. Thought love will. My kids have finished their first year and I noticed the difference in their demeanor, confidence, thoughtful to other, self efficient * they no longer need me to sit with them until their homework was done, helpful at home. As a single mom... with little to no help, this is the best gift I can give them... a gift that they will carry though out their life.

Mr. Grilli is extremely passionate about the craft of martial arts and helps all students of different skill levels with equal care. Mrs. Grilli is always on-hand to answers all questions in person or email. The Jr Instructors are also a wonderful addition to the school, also helping when the classes are full. The facility is super clean & welcoming. Yes, parking can be tricky but with proper planning a spot can be found or parking can be found across the street, easy-peasy. I'm happy we have found a family martial arts school. I will recommend JSK Riverside 100%.

Both meet at the same time as the aikido classes, but in different rooms. aikidoredlands.org They have other classes in aikido, kendo and yoga as well. T'ai chi ch'uan aka taijiquan class meets at 6 PM for group exercise and form. They teach what is called the Old form of Yang Style Symmetrical System. The main teacher also teaches at UC Riverside. At this time there are two teachers, The woman teaching the beginning classes is a former high school teacher and t'ai chi ch'uan competitior teaches the beginning class. She is also a veteran and was a pushing hands champion before she retired from competition. The teacher of the continuing classes is a Master Level teacher who has been studying and practicing t'ai chi ch'uan since 1970. There are several levels of students. Beginners work together. First part of the class are warmup exercises and ch'i kung (qigong) exercises. They are used for flexibility and range of motion as well as traditional health exercises were done. The curriculum is the same as was taught at Loma Linda University Drayson Center in past years. This curriculum was studied by researchers at Loma Linda University and found to significantly improve the balance of seniors and Diabetic patients with Neuropathy. Beginners work together and do basic drills that help their balance as well as learn the first form. The teacher keeps reminding students not to do anything that hurts. Continuing students work in groups and study more advanced forms. The class is one hour. At 7:15 there is an T'a-chi ch'uan Application and Pushing Hands class. That class taught the meaning of the movements in the form. The teacher was adamant that students need to understand what each movement means in order to do it properly. He also teaches pushing hands and sticky hands drills in this class. Small class with mainly advanced students. Low intensity, no falling as most of the people in the class are Seniors.

Sensei Prakash is dedicated to the practice and is passionate about Aikido. He is thorough with his teaching. He cares about his students and gives constructive feedback. I would highly recommend checking out a class.
