She diagnosed an ailment that Piedmont Hospital ER missed a few years ago, and life has been much more comfortable for me since then. Because Dr Peters is with the Piedmont Hospital network, I decided I only want to go to Piedmont Hospital when I was sick and needed surgery. All my paperwork and records were transferred seamlessly with their internal network, and Dr Peters called me the day after an initial ER visit to see how I was doing, and of course, after the surgery as well. Luckily since then, I've only had to visit for my annual check ups. The office is well appointed, in an office/medical building with other specialized Piedmont doctors. Small parking lot, but I've never had problems finding a spot. The nurses are nice, though not overly so...except for the nurse in the lab that jokes with me about my thin hard-to-find veins. My last visit, I drank a liter sized bottle of water before my appointment, just so the veins would be easier to find...joke's on her, haha! (I'm such a dork.) Only negative? I rarely ever get ahold of the receptionist live to book an appointment and i always miss their return calls because they call while i'm working...I wish they had an online appointment booking option. As with all doctors, if you schedule your appointment early, there's less waiting time. Typical doctors appointment availability- wish there were more Friday and offhour options but they usually only have appointments during regular business hours in the middle of the week, and you have to book months ahead of time. They do have online messaging system for emailing your doctor and getting prescriptions and lab results, which is very convenient.

Also, I explained in my first appt that I once went to a derm that never sent me my results no matter how many times I asked them to mail, email, or fax them to me. During the appointment, the new physician asked questions about her existing medical history, including cholesterol and other previously diagnosed conditions. My wife answered those questions but did not seek treatment for any new issues. The physician ordered routine blood work, including tests that she has received as part of her annual physical for several years. We were surprised to later receive a bill for a separate office visit. We were told that because pre-existing conditions were discussed during the appointment, the visit was billed separately. We also received a separate bill from the lab for the blood work. What makes this particularly frustrating is that my wife has had these same routine tests performed during her annual physicals for the past four years at this practice without receiving an additional office visit charge or lab charge. Patients should be aware that discussing existing medical conditions during an annual physical at Northside Primary Care Midtown (previously Midtown Medical Associates), even when responding to questions from the physician, will result in additional charges. Basic tests such as cholesterol, lipid profile etc. is not covered under the annual physical with this practice anymore. We wish this had been explained clearly before or during the appointment so we could have made an informed decision. We are disappointed and concerned about the transparency of the billing process. We will look for another doctor.
