These cakes and pastries will have you filling up a whole tray (we filled two bags to take home!) They have an assortment of cakes which are excellent for birthdays! When you visit an establishment and dine, typically you'd expect the service to be sufficient --…read morefriendly, inviting, and to be listened to and served in a timely manner. That was not the case. I got the chaulafan-- asked for no chicken but it came out with chicken. Waitresses/bartenders barely looked at me, they were distant. They didn't even serve their very plain popcorn with the traditional dipping sauce until I ASKEd for it -- mind you this is a standard like bread and butter at an Italian place -- Ecuadorian establishment due this. I thought my dish I ordered would make up for the lack of service -- and to my point with the popcorn sauce, if you don't know better, you wouldn't know to ask for better -- my dish was SOOO SALTY it wasn't even edible. They let me leave after a wait for the check.... Leaving an entire dish behind ... didn't care to ask if everything was alright and when I thought I was gonna take it home they gave me a to go container and made me wrap the food myself .. which when I thought about it didn't make sense because I could even eat this dish -- I had it there once before but this time -- no good. The inside is okay, not ugly, not comfortable though. I asked them to put the baseball game in 3 different times to which they completely ignored -- they attempted once but just changed it back. Mind you, there was over 5 tvs in there .. no one was watching anything at all, just a flyer promotion for their upcoming Halloween gathering. Overall uncomfortable and not inviting experience or environment. I would never go back.

"Oh, baby let me be, your lovin' teddy bear Put a chain…read morearound my neck, and lead me anywhere" (Elvis Presley) What on earth does "Osito" mean? Go back to your foreign language school days, and maybe you'll remember that it means "little bear" in Spanish. That's likely why there are cute little bears all over the walls of Ositos. Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to the two couples that own Ositos. Tanya and Juan Sanchez, and Xavier and Sandra Patino fondly remembered the little ice cream, shaved ice, and fruit shops in their native Ecuador and decided to take a chance on recreating that friendly neighborhood vibe in Torrington. You'll find their shot at the American Dream in a distinctive purple building on the busy corner of Main Street and North Elm. The store is across the street from Walgreen's Pharmacy in an old tailoring shop. There are two tables and some counter seats available. Their products include hot dogs, fruit plates, ice cream sundaes, smoothies, and shakes with plenty of toppings. Mango ice cream is a particular favorite of their customers. We sat inside and enjoyed two small cups of ice cream at around $4.50 each. My wife had a combination of Coffee Chip and Cookies and Cream, while I had a small cup of Orange-Pineapple with Chocolate sprinkles. The ice cream was excellent-smooth and creamy, non-granular, with great flavor and texture. The young lady that served us was super friendly and helpful and offered s plenty of flavor samples. Osito's does not have a website, but they do have a Facebook page.

I stopped on a warm summer night and it was pretty busy. I always go for a waffle cone so I got two scoops, mango and mint chocolate chip in a waffle cone. It was really good! I saw they had a drink in a pineapple and that looked delicious too. I look forward to going back to try the fruit!!

I've driven by when they were closed, but recently noticed they were open as I was getting an afternoon coffee in New Britain. They mostly had sandwiches, but had some other offerings as well. I posted a pic of what they have. I ordered a tripleta, a sandwich on pressed Cuban style bread with pernil, ham and steak, and also topped with American Cheese, lettuce, tomato and Mayo Ketchup. It was a pretty good sandwich. Better than the sum of its parts. The meats didn't really pop for me flavor, seasoning or texture-wise, but they were decent. The bread was fresh and good. They probably needed a bit more fat when they were pressing the bread. It was a touch darker than ideal. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. It's convenient since I often get coffee at Alvarium. 3.5 Stars
