I have tried a chicken fried steak at many a restaurant. Never have tasted a worse one. Even though it is a Mexican restaurant, not an excuse. Some piece of paper also cooked into the bottom. Also not the best building interior. Service was great but it just masked something worse. read more

Unfortunately my husband got the wrong order and despite hearing him say "this wasn't what I ordered" the waitress left and didn't check on us until 10 or more minutes later. A pleasant surprise in small town Cisco, Tx. Food was great. Bartender hand made my margarita since I wanted a better tequila than what they normally used. Had a nice chat with him. Did not give 5 stars because the server was not the most attentive young lady. It took awhile for her to bring us menus, serve our order and bring our bills - all during times when she was hanging out at the bar. Plus, she did not do the expected "How's your meal?" after our food was served. In fact, at one time the bartender asked if we had ordered since it took longer than usual for us to get served. Even though the food was delicious and our server was great, I wouldn't recommend going here with a large party. We went in on a Sunday morning at 10:45 With a party of 15. The lady at the front, I'm assuming the manager WAS SO SO SO RUDE! She treated us like we were an inconvenience and that our business was not as important as the "Sunday rush" people that were supposedly going to be coming in. I have honestly never been treated that terrible in a restaurant in my life. If it weren't the only game in town we would have left, but we were on a time crunch. 4-12-2022 weeknight dinner, small town. When you enter the restaurant, wait to be seated. We had a party of 8 and the server was great, attentive and friendly. She took all orders and then read them all back to each Individual. We tried not to fill up on chips, salsa and queso. The salsa is flavorful and spicy and even better when it's mixed with the queso. They have cute little cups you can use to share the salsa or the queso. The meals took a long time to come out but I noticed other tables were waiting just as long. The good part is our food was all correct and everyone was satisfied. Full bar, and lots of inside seating. They do not have a fountain, sodas are cans with a cup of ice, and they do not have Diet Dr Pepper. There is a full bar, and lots of inside seating. Check out my pics. I would order it again. Generous portion of Fries with the burgers that are hand cut with a little tater skin still on, a bit greasy for some people but still very good. I dipped I'm the queso to cut out the grease. Haha. When you are finished eating, don't expect a check to be brought over to the table. You go to the cashier in the middle room (the room you're in when you enter the restaurant) and they will ask you what you ordered and you pay there. Apparently this is the norm for small town places. Thankfully the company we were with knew what to do or I would have been sitting there for a while. Be sure to ask for a to go cup if you want your tea or leftover drink to go with you. The parking lot can be a bit rough. There is a small paved parking area on the side and all other areas are gravely rocks. Several of us went back the next day. So it is a favorite for the locals, travelers along I-20 and with the fam. I have had very spicy things, which, granted, were quite hot and required a full bottle of water to be extinguished. But this is an entirely different animal. They used jalepenos for the Verde sauce on the enchiladas. You're probably laughing? You think it's that funny? Go try it yourself. You definitely won't regret it either way. It's not like I was expecting anything spectacular here. Just a tolerable breakfast stop. Usually the food/experience is acceptable. However the owners tell the staff to charge customers differently than what is stated on the menu. Of course, you only find this out when you go to pay your bill (of course!). Then the staff explains that even though the menu says you can get 3 tacos for $X.xx it only applies to certain tacos, but of course it does not say which. The staff also expressed confusion about why the owners were giving instructions contradicting what is advertised on the menu. The owners just decide to arbitrarily create hidden prices which do not honor what they advertise. This undermines customer confidence and shows customers that they are being taken for granted. I don't like to withdraw my support for a local establishment but in this case it seems like the only option until mgmt makes corrections and amends. Until then, stay away or be duped out of your money. read more
