Guys if you have not been to La Carne meat market, you definitely have to come! This is the best…read moremeat market in Kern County hands-down and we are lucky to have it here in Shafter. From the minute you walk in the business is always extremely clean and the Services top notch. I have never walked in here without being greeted and today was no exception. The owner himself was in on my visit today and we had a great conversation. The owner and his staff are super friendly and always willing to help with any of your needs. The meat they carry is always high end prime or wagyu which is always delicious. The seasoning on the meat if you get it prepared is delicious! The meat is always super tender. I have tried tons of meat markets but my family and I always find ourselves coming back to La Carne Meat Market. They also have charcoal, spices, tortillas, salsas, guacamole which is delicious, and any other bbq need you might have. Definitely come and check them out you will not be disappointed!!

4pm This spot is pretty cool. I love the butcher knife door handles very creative. You know this…read morespot is clean by the slap ya in the face bold smell of Fabulosa and bleach. The merch, is well organized. Have you ever used walnut cold pressed oil? Mean either but you can purchase a bottle for like $22 or 32 bucks can't remember. We were greeted with smiles by butcher and cashier. They guy was very knowledgeable and courteous as I am not a thorough bbq/meat guy as he explained the meats. We purchased the Denver prime steaks and he season them. We also purchased the garlic salt butter. Very salty I would recommend a small dollop on your steak, very small. 4 steaks and roll of garlic butter salt cost was about $58 bucks. Not bad at all. Steaks were delicious. I would have posted a picture, but they were to good to look at vs eat them. Highly recommend.

If you know me, ordering Mexican food is one of my biggest fear…read more.. not because I don't have Spanish-English dictionary installed on my iPhone:P Anyway, I still managed my fear went in again after finishing 3 beef tacos. (yes, I said Beef taco when I ordered it) Turtle: yes I saw it but...I don't know how to pronounce "Cabeza". Frog : Ask for "ca-beh-saw" tacos, head meat. turtle: ohhhh so...2nd time I successfully ordered 5 cabeza tacos. so damn good!!! Totally worth additional 10 miles drive (from I-99) from outside, it looked dark and empty... like those scenes in horror movies that when you walk in, you scared by the suddenly show up employee don't get wrong, inside is actually very clean and neat. I was the only customer in it at 1pm. The girl who made my tacos was quiet, shy (like me), and fast. It was hot and wrapped in the foil. I never had such flavors before...it looks simple but it left King Taco wayyyyyyy behind.... If you travel between LA-SF...its very close to 46 (Famoso Hwy) and to both I-5 and I-99 are around 10 miles. Because it's close to HWY so the driving time is actually not too bad...I got there in 12 mins after exiting I-99 NOW I wish I can have more "ca-beh-saw" tacos ....

They are now offering home made tortillas fresh off the presses and they are fantastic. Eat inside or out, its good either way. And if you want to stock up on bottled soft drinks they have a full selection at reasonable prices.
