I would absolutely "NOT" recommend this place! Sammy is a, a liar, and a thief...!!! I had to get a lawyer!!! He made me think that I was spending $2,300 on fixing my starter, then he told me after they took the top part of my engine off, now that there was another $1,300 worth of parts that needed to be replaced, the first day I brought it home it started smoking, I had it towed back to him he said it was blown! They took advantage of me because they knew I needed my car for work they're horrible! The difference in Sammy's attitude from when I first bought the car in to get fixed... until I had it towed back to them because it was smoking after the day I brought it home, and they told me it was blown is horrific he is "evil...!" They also told me to spend the $2,300 to get it back in working conditions and I need to sell it right away even though I just spent $2,300 to fix it! doesn't it make sense!?!? also found out they have lost their license two times there's your red flags oh and one more thing when I asked him if the car is worth fixing he said he called two corporates and they said to fix it...! I went to GS Tunning for an oil change to my car, and they did the change in good time around 45-1Hour, the technician answered all my concerns about my car and gave the list of next steps to take care of in priority order. This at least to me was something very nice to have because I could first do the most important in priority order. they left my car clean no marks of work inside or outside this is something appreciated the customer service was excellent and they were very open to scheduling my car service and having everything for me on time. By far the best Shop I have been to, I had my 2005 BMW X5 fixed here and the customer service was amazing. Mike the Shop Manager was very upfront with me as to my engine replacement he explained in detail what to expect. I had a few things that were urgently They left my Car like brand new, they gave me a complimentary car wash. As a women it's very hard to trust in the mechanic shops but I will definitely be a returning customer. I will also be sending all my family and friends your way ! We've been taking our 2002 330Ci to GS tuning since we bought it in 2006. I have met and talked with Sammy, Robert, Paul and now Adam. It's great to have such a good shop around for our BMW. Hector and Eddy hold down the shop while Adam kicks in as well when he's not dealing with parts, customers and keeping things straight. My husband needed a new battery and tune up. He had his mini cooper worked on by GS Tuning in the past. GS Tuning gave me an estimate of $1,100 of work, including over $400 for a new battery. I am not questioning if the car needed this work. I do not know. However, my husband is not well and only drives once a week to the grocery store. I called my mechanics to ask about cost of battery to compare. They gave me a range of price for an AGM battery for the mini, plus about $30 for installation. I called GM to see if we could purchase a less expensive battery. No. No options. I had to have them do the minimum as the bill would have been $175.00 for the assessment of the mini. $600 for a battery and an oil change. My son and sister were customers. GM lost 3 customers for their lack of being willing to work with us to find the best product for our needs. read more

I've struggled for a long time with different issues on my car. Everything seems to make a sound. I kept getting the run around so I finally took it into Performance Auto. My car has never driven this smooth. I used to not take it far distances because of all the squeaking and rattling. I can make a cross country trip in this baby with zero issues now. Super disrespectful guys!!! They guessed on my transmission problem failed to fix it and I still got charged 1200 for it. Then they told me they wanted to replace it for an additional cost. 1200$ in diagnostic for a transmission is insane. Complete waste of time Bavarian performance has done a much better job but I was excited to try this shop cause it was closer to home. Big disappointment would not recommend unless you want to waste some money and get disrespected. They called my money chump change, they initiated an argument by cursing at me on the phone. I told them another shop said the solenoids were replaceable and they told me to shut the f**k up which was also insane. Something I did not expect coming for a "professional shop". Another thing I disliked is it's all electronic and over the phone so they can easily claim something that they never said before which unfortunately happened to me. They claimed that the failed attempt at fixing it was how they were gonna diagnose it and I was not told that when I dropped it off. 0/10 wish I would've stayed with north bay bavarian read more

Robert at GS Tuning saved the day with my 2006 Mazda Miata MX-5! I recently purchased this car with 39,000 miles and brought it to Robert to have him give it a once over, and check out an issue disclosed by the seller that the seller had been unable to resolve through his Mazda dealer service department. Robert did some sleuthing and found a 2011 service bulletin regarding the 06's variable valve timing unit. I decided to have the unit replaced as a precaution, and am SO GLAD I did. The unit was cracked and falling apart, and a catastrophic engine failure would have been the result had it not been corrected. THANK YOU ROBERT!!! My car has been in a few times for somethings Carmax didn't fix and the customer service has always been outstanding. They are able to get my car in for service in a timely manner. Since my BMW 328i is new to me Sammy was able to help me with a few learning things a few months ago. Today my car went in for an oil change and I told Robert that the AC fan motor seemed to have went out during our road trip. Yes when it was 95 degrees outside! HOT! He was able to look at it today and hopefully the AC doesn't go out again. I asked Robert about snow tires for when we move out of state and he was more than helpful. Plus they didn't charge me to look at the AC and I was able to get the special coupon from their website for an oil change. They washed my car too and it looks amazing, no water spots! I'm very happy with the service they provide and I will always be bringing my car back here. I will be sad to leave them when we do move out of state because it's very hard nowadays to find a car service shop that has nothing but honest, helpful staff! I just recently brought my 1988 BMW 635 CSI to GS Tuning, needed to get a diagnosis on the vehicle and I have a hard time trusting others with the car, GS Tuning showed me through excellent customer service and knowledge of BMWs that I can hand over my keys to the car.. while I was waiting in the lobby patiently with no one to talk to and a dead phone.. I was offered a loaner car for the time being, which was very generous at the time because I had other things going on but didn't have a vehicle. During the rest of my day I was called by GS Tuning and was notified what was going on with my car and the problems that Its having in a detail professional manner. I'll tell you this, they really respect people and genuinely care about you're vehicle which is hard to find around Santa Rosa. Worst service ever. I felt so taken advantage of. My car was there 3 times for the same problem. I paid a diagnostic fee every time they would charge me for what they thought was the problem and then my car would break down again. Basically I paid for stuff to be fixed on my car that was never broken. They were rude and wouldn't offer any sort of break on the fees. I paid 3000.00 dollars to fix my car and it only should of cost 800.00. Never would I ever recommend this place to anyone. read more

My favorite BMW shop in the area. The mechanic even went for a drive with me to help identify a problem. Was told not to worry, and wait till it gets worse as it was not a serious issue. So, honest? I screwed up a DIY job and needed a part quickly to have a drivable vehicle an 04 BMW 325i. Smothers "European Parts" didn't have this common part and BMW wanted $400 for a Hydraulic tensioner pulley; there is nuts then there is beyond insane!!! (14 year old car!!! Probably $300 overpriced!). I was at Gs Tuning about 11 am hoping for a miracle and the person in the front was able to get me reasonable price on tensioner pulley and had it ready for pick up at 3pm. I was thinking 3pm the next day well that is better than hoping for a couple days from a website, he said no 3pm today which was unreal!!!! They honestly didn't have to sell me the part or even help me out at all in a pinch. I can't thank them enough!!!! Both people I dealt with were very friendly and helpful. There are some jobs I can't do myself like Oil Pan Gasket on my E46, when that comes time I will take it here. I don't know a ton about cars but I understand BMWs and maintenance and the components on these things. Honestly, had I taken my car to people like this 6-7 years ago, I never would have been become a DIY mechanic because of getting hosed on nonsense. read more

I wrote this review for them before, but since they moved it says closed for their old location....this is what I wrote before: So I literally just got off the phone with Robert, the service manager at GS Tuning. The most honest, upfront and nice guy you could want as your service manager. I took my car in today for an oil change and other minor stuff, and mentioned to them that the engine seems to make a very faint whining noise as the RPM's go up. The road tested it and said that the alternator is making that slight noise, but it's good for now and no need to replace it because there is still life left in it. I've taken my 330i here for a long time, and I have never EVER been upsold or told to replace anything just so they could get some $$ out of me. Other places (especially the local BMW dealer!!!) in town would jump on the occasion to tell me that the alternator needed replacing, probably along with some other made-up stuff. Not GS Tuning. They are honest, direct, and just exactly what you would want your service shop for you car (especially BMW) to be. They have a loyal customer in me! Can't recommend them highly enough. ***Update--I had a crack in the overflow tank for the radiator. To replace they had to remove a couple of things. Robert told me that since my car hadn't had any coolant system replacement (It's a 2002 and has 130k miles). Since they had to take some things off to get to the tank, if I wanted to replace some (or all) of the system, it would be cheaper labor-wise to do it then. No pressure, and they were honestly saying it was up to me, and trying to get the most bang for my buck. I opted to get the whole thing done and turned out to not be as bad as I had thought price-wise. I still can't recommend them highly enough! read more

Regarding their auto repair it's sub par with people not capable to do work on more advanced tech. I once asked to do a simple job prior to finding a great shop in Bavarian Auto of Santa Rosa and these guys quoted one price for a control arm then a week later went in to do work and price was increased more than $200. He claimed he didn't know that the cost of the part and labor was the price he quoted, even with print out. Stating he no longer can do for that price because it's too low. Then he also said certain repairs would need to go with the fix to fix the issue. Other shop, Bavarian Auto took care of problem for less than the original price with more qualified techs. Remember to never do business with these crooks. They will rip you off as well as place you in a dangerous situation. Avoid. read more

I offered what I thought to be the problem with the car at drop off, a couple of hours later I get the call that something entirely different (and more need repair). I brought it to the shop after my meeting and after they ran the tests, I was told the throttle body needed replacing. I was also driving with bald tires and needed an oil change. Finally! A woman-friendly shop where the owners don't treat you like a nitwit due to your gender!! I've been bringing my MINIs to GS for years and have ALWAYS been treated with courtesy and respect. There are no stupid questions here. These guys do good work! GS has also gone 'above and beyond' for me following a blown head gasket. Robert persevered for MONTHS with my extended warranty company to get the necessary repairs covered, while patiently and politely keeping me posted AND providing me with a free loaner car in the interim. The man has the patience of a saint! If you're looking for an old-school stand-by-our-work shop, please consider taking your vehicle to GS. Their estimates are also generally very accurate and I've always been promptly apprised so there are NO surprises at check-out. Besides the excellent work they do, they also send you on your way having provided you with a free carwash (in-house) which is a very nice, unexpected 'extra.' These guys deserve 10 stars! Robert saved me from a $1400 mistake made on part of a misdiagnosis of another mechanic, when I called him and asked him for his opinion on my check engine light coming on with my 2008 Mini Cooper. Had the job 'finished' with the other mechanic, only for my light to come back on! Towed my car to GS Tuning, and they had everything figured out right away. They even made sure the problem was 100% diagnosed by test-running it -- twice, just in case, and offered to test it again the next morning if I wanted to leave it with them overnight! My car was short on oil by about 2 Quarts!!! Very disappointed in the other mechanic, but was overjoyed when my beautiful Mini came back to me running smoothly and cleaned up as well! (they washed my car). Not only did Robert explain in detail what was going on inside my car, but they also did not take advantage of my situation! I only wish I had taken my car to GS Tuning sooner.... could have saved me $300!
