During our most recent dining excursion at G's we had the G's special pizza and house lasagna and found both dishes to be OK but nothing out of the ordinary. The ingredients seemed fresh and appearance looked great but flavor was a bit on the pedestrian side. Relative to their Covid precautions we noted a mixed bag where we were greeted by an unmasked person who seated us at our table where later on she had her mask on when taking our order. Tables had decent spacing and I noted they were cleaning with a solution between diners in what I assumed was sanitizer. Due to the limited dining options in Oscoda this is one of a handful of seated dining options you have in this area and for that reason I definately would recommend this establishment if you are in the mood for pizza/pasta and want to eat out with table service. If carry out is your thing there are chain pizzerias in the area for notably less cost that I would definitely consider over G's. read more

After many years of eating at G's while we are "Up North" I think tonight will be our last visit, at least until the pabdemic is over. When I went in to pick up my order the first warning sign was a sign at the door which basically said that this restaurant is not going to be enforcing any of the guidelines implemented by the state government to keep people safe. Still, upon entering the restaurant, I was shocked that no employee was wearing a face covering or maintaining any sort of safe social distancing. Maybe in the future I will consider revisiting G's in Oscoda but for now I will not support a business which has such a lack of concern for their employee's, customer's, or communities safety. read more

HUGE menu: 8 types of salads, about 20 different pizzas in 3 different styles - plus make your own, 10 different types of sandwiches, 4 different burgers, several entrees.... Pizzas range from the standard italian with pepperoni or sausage or onions or mushrooms - the stuff you'd expect - to a BLT pizza, a greek pizza, a spicy italian (italian on steroids), bleu buffalo chicken, a tuscan with olive oil, and a bbq chicken. You can get in regular pizza fashion, a pocket pizza (like a calzone), or a flatbread (although it depends on what kind of pizza you get). We were a group of 8 and tried all of the above. Everything was done very well. I'd give it a 5 except when we went (Thursday night in August) - the place was packed - we were in a table in the middle - as such service was slow, it was noisy - and it took a long time to pay and get out. Very unorganized they brought the wrong thing three times on a delivery I think they're all drunk there

Ordered a Reuben and FF and the fried pickles to be delivered. waited over an hour and what I received was no Reuben. Plain toasted on white bread, little meat and no dressing or kraut that I could discern. The sandwich was about an inch thick. It's like they've never seen a Reuben before. The FF were old, cold and so rubbery they were inedible and went in the trash. $25.90 before tip for that nasty meal. No pride in the prep at all. read more

Started out excited for pizza after getting the recommendation from a local while we were in town to kayak half the day. After waiting 15 to 20 minutes for our waitress to take our order after being seated and after having to flag her down when she finally looked our direction we waited another 30 minutes for food. Didnt stop by to refill waters. G's spears breadsticks were ok but for the price a family of 5 had about 1 to 1.5 pieces total was not enough to be called an appetizer, the marinara was hot and delicious though. Our pizza came 5 minutes later. The meat lovers Pizza was ok, the bacon was very chewy and the addition of the ground beef wasn't a great combination to be honest but the overall taste was good. Overall the pizza was good but definitely not what I expected. If I came back I'd probably try the cuban or another one of their specialty pizzas. I would likely come again to see if it was just an off day and would hope I could give 5 stars next time. If you want a place for pizza and know what you want and have been here before you'll find a decent pizza. I would like to think our service isnt the norm, it was terrible. read more

The service... the girls complained about the tips they were making. I never saw one waitress smile and/ or approach and/or greet us. I really wanted to leave a good review, but unfortunately the extremely poor service out-weighed the food. The pizza was good. Amazing, meh, very solid, yes. The first time we dined in. It was a busy night but I hate having that be an excuse for having to wait over an hour for our pizza. Sadly, we watched 3 or 4 groups that sat 30 minutes after us get their food, finish and leave before we even got ours. I watched two tables get up before ordering because a server never came to their table. They even forgot to put in an order for one of our party (which they did take off the final bill even after they gave her the dish). All that being said, the pizza, when it finally arrived, was good. The others in our party also enjoyed their dishes. A few days later we decided we would try some pizza on delivery. Ugh. 35-45 minutes expected delivery time. After an hour, we call to find out the driver couldn't find our address. He didn't call, they didn't call. Yea.... needless to say, we decided to just go with a different pizza place. Order online and that process was fine. Get to restaurant and staff ignores me. They finally acknowledge me but waitress goes on punching buttons and doesn't give ask to help me. I tell her, Melinda, what I want and then she takes her time going in the back and brings out my order. She them has no idea how to do transaction and I have to ask for plates and napkins. She then doesn't apologize for the wait and gives me attitude. I ask to speak to manager Dave who they tell me will be right out. I wait another 5 minutes and then they tell me he isn't coming out. I am a consultant in the restaurant industry and specialize in guest engagement and service. These guys dropped multiple balls here. I had much better service at Mancinos last night and would steer others there. Dave - you shouldn't blow off your customers. I spend half my summer in Oscoda and was a frequent G's customer. I expect problems sometimes, but it is how you and your staff deal with them that retains or drives customers away. read more
