Sooty for the half eaten plates but decided to post after I ate. Ackee/saltfish. Callaloo with banana, dumpling and white yam

Looking for some tasty Jamaica food, this is the place to go. The breakfast is everything, from tender delicious liver to Ackee and salt fish with callaloo.

I found my Queens source of Jamaican food!! Delicious oxtails, rice, peas and plantains. Spicy home made ginger beer, and spicy, spicy beef patties. Not to mention good prices and lovely people. Nothing fancy here, just EVERYTHING you need!!

Very disappointed and turned off by the lack of professionalism and customer service, but not surprised! Walked in the restaurant; looked around for a menu or price list. Didn't see one. Asked for one. Asked sternly by the lady behind the counter, "what is it that you'd like to order?" Yikes. Oxtail, $15 for a small. $12 for a small curry goat. Decided to take the curry goat because my daughter said the oxtail was tough when she tried it the first time. Lady proceeds to fill container with rice and peas, then takes rice off. I guess she "put too much?" Hmmm strange, but okay. Starts to put curry goat in the container. I noticed she kept avoiding spooning from the areas with a lot of meat. I didn't say anything. Then she stops spooning and indicates that that's all. Not even a quarter filled with actual meat. (I found out later, while eating and taking out many bones and a big white potato.) For reference- I bought a small (same size container) from the Dominican restaurant on Lefferts and between the amount of yellow rice and curry goat, I could barely finish in one sitting. Cost: $10. Taste different, yet better. COVID has hurt many restaurants, so I make it a point to patronize small businesses. This restaurant, however, could not care less about my patronage nor their hospitality. The curry goat at Gs taste like any other "round the way" West Indian restaurant, yet charged $12 for bones and potatoes. I WILL NOT RETURN. Neither should you.

No frills joint serving delicious Jamaican food. There are some bakery items, as well buffet style options for lunch. They have a good variety of food and meats. This was recommended by my Caribbean colleague and did not disappoint! They take credit card.

I went to this place for the first time. I ordered okra and salt fish and a side of fried fish cake pattie. The lady asked me what would be my side order for the salt fish and okra. I replied two bananas and yam no dumplings. She put a full spoon of okra little tiny bits of salt fish - rephrase no saltfish only okra I then mentioned to her that there no salt fish so do she mind putting callaloo and salt fish to mix it. She said I have to charge you additional fees. I told her disregard. I then ordered fried fish cake pattie. She went to register to charge me for the food not to mention over charge me for someone else food in conjunction with mine. I got to my place of business hungry and ready to eat. Never ever throughout my forty plus year have I ever tasted some nasty uncooked food DISGUSTING!! fish cake pattie was raw inside but fried on one side SMFH.... I WILL NEVER EVER RECOMMEND NOR ORDER FOOD HERE AGAIN. WHY ARE THEY OPEN!? I see people putting reviews like the food is authentic and great- no sir no flavor and FYI I'm caribbean so I know about flavor!!! Crosses!!! Shame on you Mr.G's!!! NO RATINGS (In order for me to submit this review I hsve to submit a star!! Pay attention!!

Another person walked near where I was standing and asked if they could help me. I asked her the flavor of a particular cake, then selected the cake I wanted. She asked if I wanted happy birthday on it and I told her yes. She asked the cashier if she could ring me up. She asked if I was paying cash or card, I told her cash. I gave her the money, she gave me back my change then walked away from the register and went in the back, she never said thank or anything else. The young lady that was helping me put my cake in a bag and thanked me for coming in. I asked her name because she was very polite and displayed great customer service. Her name was Angelica.

Now in my opinion it's at best-of-three star bakery Café ; everything changes new owner he's not so friendly prices are through the roof; the staff that he has he's very blessed because they are very professional friendly and fast..... Coffee is fantastic; their baked items are very good; prices are insane..... I get it we all know that inflation is up everywhere & on everything but a cup of coffee and my favorite a tea biscuit toasted with butter and jelly $7.00 that's insane.. I still patronize this business on special occasions and holidays like i said all their bakery items are good but for a everyday breakfast stop definitely not.... They do offer Breakfast & Lunch they have a full kitchen & menu; They do have plenty of seating; Parking out front on the boulevard it's a hit or miss; we have commercial trucks so we can't use their parking lot in the rear.... I do recommend if you're in the area; But would I drive out of my way to get here Nooooo Sir !!! Best Regards, Greg D & Family

I was headed to Howard Beach and this was a top Yelp suggestion. There were all kinds of wonderful goodies that made for some great holiday boxes to drop off on my next few stops. What was really nice is that they were decorated in fall colors with fun little Thanksgiving touches. There was a wide variety of chocolate covered Oreos with turkeys, leaves, pilgrims and cornucopia. Graham crackers and Rice Krispies were also dipped and decorated. And, God, I wish I had saved a chocolate and sprinkle-covered Twinkie for myself!! Everything was tucked into unique pink boxes, which helps these treats stand out from the usual bakery fare. Next time I'm going for the chocolate pizzas, cupcakes, and beautifully decorated cakes. The young lady behind the counter was also the baker and she could not have been nicer. She was so helpful! From all of the items on display, it's clear she takes a lot of pride in her work. I can't wait to go back and stock up. Definitely check out this wonderful spot!!
