We had to almost physically stop them, say no very firmly, and when unable to read the menu say if you cannot leave us alone we are off! The restaurant was jam packed, everyone watching...guess they had had the same experience We went across the road to the left and up to no 34... Relief - 2 tables left, we were welcomed in by a very pleasant waiter; we took one and the table beside us went next minute. Full. You can see how small this place is from the photos...10 tables? But its like a little oasis and along with Qualque Hora (similarly tiny) and 5 Oceanos our 3 favourite places to eat during this stay in Lisbon So we hadn't booked - won't make that mistake in future, we were so lucky, because people were pouring in and being turned away, some insisted and simply queued outside....when we left there were ton of people out there...but frankly it was excellent in very respect The menu is however not small and all tastes are catered for: cod for my partner, I had the lamb...this is a very nice place to go to, food, service, atmosphere all great Recommended

But the food is average at best. I had a Rubelo fish with black ink risotto. Both were bland. My wife had octopus - very tender but also lacked flavor. The service is also average to below average. We were given the wine menu after we ordered dinner and only when I asked for it. We were not offered any after-dinner drinks (e.g. port in Portugal!) I don't know how this restaurant made the Michelin list. Not bad but not that good either.

It definitely feels like a local favorite. The ladies who work in here are so kind and warm and helpful. The food was top notch - delicious and so far the best Pastel de Nata that we've had - not too sweet which made me so happy. The girl that helped us recommended the chicken pastry which was SO good we ended up walking away with a box of 4 more for later. The chees/cinnamon pastry that is a regional dessert was absolutely delicious, reminded me of the flavor of a canele. The lil quiches were yummy as well and they had excellent coffee, and little ham/cheese tostada sandwiches that had a little sprinkle if herbaceous seasoning on top - delicious! Also their fresh squeezed orange juice was everything I needed this morning. We are so looking forward to going again tomorrow morning!

I noticed that because it was further from the main hubs of tourism, that it was mostly locals. That's always nice to know that it isn't a trap, and the quality reflected it. Being in Sintra, I had to get the pastry the town was known for. It was really really good. It wasn't tough and wasn't too sweet. The filling was just great. After having tried multiple travasseiros since, my favorite definitely came from Gregorio. I got another pastry, filled with cheese and more. Every bit of it was delicious. The pastries are baked great, and the filling was just as good. They were some of my favorite I had throughout my most recent journey to Portugal. The staff was great too, so all around great experience. The decor was pleasant and they had some cool and unique things, like correspondence from a bakery in Japan talking about Portuguese/Japanese goods.

The ambiance here is a solid 5 and reason alone to come here!!…read more The staff is great too. We had two waiter's and they could not have been nicer and attentive. The food: my dish of cod and chick peas was amazing. At first glance, I didn't think the fish was cooked all the way through, but it was perfect. Flaky, buttery and salty. My son really enjoyed his food and dessert. My husband on the other hand wasn't crazy about his lamb. He said it didn't taste like lamb, it had a peculiar taste to it and he didn't think it was a lamb, but maybe a kid which has a completely different taste. I am not a fan of lamb, and I did try it too, and have to admit it's funkier then I have tasted in the past. At the end, my husband said it was the best tasting €40 something tasting potatoes (which came with the dish). When the guy came over to clear the table (not our waiters) he asked how was everything and my husband told him the better lamb was not my favorite or maybe something like, I've had better. He then asked what he meant by it, and my husband told him, I don't think that was lamb-to which he shrugged and walked away with the dishes. Ok?? So, when our waiter came and asked for anything else like dessert or coffee there was no mention of-hey they told me you didn't like the lamb, nor did my husband mention it again, because once said should have been enough. Well, we got dessert paid and left. Aside from that, all was pretty good.

I had the smoked salmon sandwich which was extremely tasty, fresh, and very filling. I also had the shrimp cream soup and it was okay but not spectacular, and I expected a little more for 3.90 Euros since this is a pricier soup. The croutons were really crunchy but the soup was terribly under seasoned and there was not a lot of shrimp pieces in the soup itself. We also ordered samosas (three), but they only brought two of them out, and brought the third one fifteen minutes later, which was strange. All three were cold and a little disappointing. However, for the price, the location, and the friendly service, this place gets 4 stars.
