We came in on a cold rainy day and ordered the hot chocolate with whipped cream. We received so much whipped cream (not complaining) and the hot chocolate was so delicious. This isn't any hot chocolate, either, like the powdered kind you get in America. No, this was legitimate melted chocolate. If heaven had a taste, I think that's what it would taste like! The service was good, the young man at the register was helpful and very nice when he dropped off our drinks. The cafe itself was nice but needed some care, a little extra cleaning would be nice. The bathrooms, however, were horrendous, and I suggest skipping it and going elsewhere for the toilets. If I could give it 4.5 stars, I would, but the bathrooms were really bad so I took a star off for that. I would 1,000 percent order the hot chocolate again. read more

What can I say. I am an international ice cream lover. Whenever or wherever I see anything to do with ice cream, I have to stop. When my wife and members of our family came to this beautiful city of Gdańsk there are a couple places that are very appealing to the eye when it comes to ice cream. But my wife was pushing me towards this one because of the ice cream dishes people had who were dinning out front of this location. So she knows how ice cream is my weakness. I can never refuse it. So we decided to stop in and order. The girls who take your order were nice and helpful when it comes to making a choice for based off of you taste. "HINT" This is not America to were taste samples are given upon request. You get what you get. It's pretty much a hit or miss. But from all the times I have visited Poland I have never been disappointed with any choice I have made. The place was clean. And for the person who once reviewed that they are overpriced has obviously not ventured to far for ice cream. Because I found their price to be quite similar to those that I have dipped into before for good ice cream. They also have a menu booklet to help you with your decision. I liked it. The Polish love their ice cream per very guide book I've read. Not easy to get ice cream in the winter time in but we found Grycan in Gdansk. I believe Grycan has a long history of making ice cream in Poland- like Beyer's ice cream in the states. They have many offerings from scoops to novelties to cakes all created with ice cream. They offer coffee drinks and an array of juices. I decided to keep it simple -- 2 scoops in a cup. The ice cream was displayed a like gelato. On top of each tray of ice cream they displayed what was in it -- for example the mint chocolate chip had chips and mint on top. So I had a scoop caramel and requested a scoop of their darkest chocolate with nothing in it. The caramel seemed to have toffee bits in it and the chocolate had something reminiscent of Ben & Jerry's brownie batter in it. The consistency of the ice cream was a cross between gelato and custard. Surprisingly, it was not overly sweet. I can see why the Poles love their ice cream. read more

Surprisingly I didn't come for their gelato or waffle, instead I came for the Rurki which is this tubed dessert stuffed with a creme filling. It's basically like a waffle tube with sweet cream inside. It's light tasting and not overdone. It was delicious and super cheap! Loved it! read more

If you are coming here for the coffee you will enjoy your cup as it is warm and tasty as it should be. Their ice cream however is a joke. I've been here several times and both times the ice creamed was melted as they were served. Serve cold ice cream and fresh coctails - mine was rotten (!!!), you get higher grades. 1/5 read more

Grycan caffeteria has a large sellection of quality ice creams, so if You want ice creams its a good place to go. Service was ok. Coffe is kind of good but special. Dont take cakes, its not the best choice. I had one problem, toilet was way to small and not clean enought. read more
