I cannot recommend this place enough! Everyone is so friendly, responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful. My daughter used to be scared of the dentist (at a different office), but is so excited to go to the dentist now! Everything is clean and catered to kids. From the indoor playground in the waiting room, the screens playing cartoons while they are in the chair, the stuffed animals with teeth they can brush with a toothbrush, to the warm staff, this place is the best! I've only been to one appointment with my little one (13 months old), but the front office staff, the hygienist, and the dentist were great. My little one is not a huge fan of tooth brushing or people looking as mouth. Both the hygienist and dentist were very calming ans patient with my scared little one. They were also efficient with the exam and treatment to minimize his discomfort. The treatment tombs are very open to accommodate a parent/guardian's presence during the appointment. The play area, with the touch music instruments, was a great way to start and end the appointment. read more

After dealing with an unfortunate event (face-plant on cement) at school recess, we had to find a dentist immediately. We are new to the area and were not sure where to start so I started by searching Google and calling each Pediatric dentist in the area until I found an office willing to take my son in as a new patient immediately. Growing Smiles was able to get him in within 1.5 hours and were extremely understanding and accommodating; we could not have asked for anyone better. As if this weren't enough, their office made my son feel like he had a fun afternoon off instead of an unplanned dentist visit. They have an excellent play area for the kids while they wait and after the appointment, each kid is sent away with a balloon and popsicle! We had a great experience here with our daughter. She is 4 and autistic. She had her very first dentist appointment last week. The staff were all very nice and understanding. They explained and showed her everything they were going to do before they did it. They showed her the tools, and let her pick her toothbrush, they understood she couldn't sit still for long and were patient with her when she wasnt so patient herself. They asked what was difficult for her and what she didnt like before they started and when we were getting ready to leave (after a mini meltdown) they asked how they could better serve her next time. They have a play area with a slide and tablets and a climbing space. The colors are not overstimulating. We are positive the main reason she did not have a rougher time is because of the compassionate staff and the knowledge they have in dealing with not only children but children with special needs. Amazing experience and totally worth the drive from Topeka where we work or from Osage City where we live. read more

My kids love going to the dentist since Growing Smiles makes it fun. They look forward to the games and toys in the waiting room as other reviewers mentioned. They have Nintendo DS for kids waiting for their sibling to finish up, and televisions for the kids to watch while they get their cleaning. The staff have always been so kind and gentle. My son is very sensory sensitive, but they worked with him and had extreme patience when he went to his first appointment. I can't imagine him doing as well as he did anywhere else. My stepdaughter had an playground accident that affected a tooth and Dr. Henderson did a great job of monitoring it and determining whether it needed further treatment. Any mess ups my insurance has had processing things, Growing Smiles office has immediately taken care of so we didn't have to worry. Wish the dentist was like this when I was a kid! read more

Growing Smiles dentistry is by far the best pediatric dentist's office that my kids have visited in their young lives. The staff is super friendly, the waiting room is FULL of kid-friendly activities and Dr. Kelli Henderson was born to work with kids. I truly believe that. My son has had a lot of unfortunate dental work done recently and she is so friendly each time (so is her assistant) she sees him. They remember his name and what TV shows he enjoys while we're waiting in the "butterfly room" for the procedure to begin. My younger two children (ages 2 and 1) threw fits when they had to get their teeth cleaned (I was so embarrassed) and the staff was so patient and nice that they finally calmed down long enough to let Dr. Henderson examine their teeth. This office truly cares about children and their families. We moved out of the area and while most doctor's offices require a certain time frame or money to send over files, this office staff said they could send them directly to me or to their new dentist (at no charge). Our oldest daughter has fairly significant anxiety and a slew of medical allergies and our middle daughter has a rare medical condition. The staff here had been so amazing working with them. They took the time to understand every like detail about them. They work so hard to explain things to our oldest daughter until she's comfortable. They are very proactive in dealing with any possibled dental problems they see and because of this our oldest got her braces on extra early as didn't have to lose any adult teeth! This office was great until they have been telling me for the past 6 months that my 3rd child can't be seen there due to the office not taking new patients within our insurance at the moment. I'm pissed because they see my other 2 kids and refuse to make an exception for the 3rd child because they latent open for new patients in our network. I don't want different dr.'s and dentist for my kids. They should all be able to be seen by the same Doctor considering that dr has all their previous family history. read more

What an incredible customer experience. This place should be a model for medical/dental patient care. From the decor to the kids movies in the lobby, to the assistant physically coming to get your child and taking them back. Communication is excellent. Highly recommend. My son had been doing "happy visits" for the past 2 years with our family dentist, but his anxiety kept them from being productive exams. We decided to try Growing Smiles and it made all the difference. He finally got through a cleaning and x-rays, and had to have 2 crowns placed with conscious sedation. They walked us through step-by-step what would happen, and made this a much better experience for our son than we ever could have imagined. We have 6 children, one of those being special needs. Dr Henderson and her whole staff do everything in their power to make this an enjoyable experience for children. From the moment you walk in the door, you know this is an office for and about children. There is a flat screen tv above every exam chair so the child can watch the selected childrens video of the day or a channel on tv while getting their teeth worked on. The office staff will go out of their way to make sure your children are happy and comfortable. Sadly we moved out of state. Leaving this dental office was one of the harder things of our move. read more

I took my son yesterday to Growing Smiles and could not have been more pleased. It is very child friendly, from having a Sony PlayStation to children's programming for them to watch while they are having their procedure done. There are bright murals on the walls, and everyone there from the receptionist to the staff related so well with my son. My son was a little timid about being at the dentist, and they could not have handled it better. I was very impressed, and will be returning there without a doubt. We have moved around a lot, and while I liked his other dentists, Growing Smiles is above and beyond. read more
