Update!! New management and a brand new team!! This store is completely reorganised and clean! employees are attentive and greet you when you walk in. Super knowledgeable and laid back staff. Most employees ether have horticulture science degree or some kind of training.. I believe a few of them garden at home or have other jobs in the industry. Favorite place to shop for hydroponics stuff in the area. The amount of gorgeous big plants inside this warehouse makes me forget I live in Michigan! Been to a couple shops nearby, but this place is the cheapest (if you don't count online). Don't be put off by the sticker price, because they have always chopped the price at the register. I got over 20% off on an awesome grow tent! If you join their rewards program, you can even get a higher discount. If discretion is important to you, they put everything in paper bags and your rewards # can be based on your initials. In comparison to the other shops, this place doesn't solely cater to the Mary Jane growers out there. I've been coming to grow an indoor garden to feed my excessive need for basil during winter months. They have all the plant juice, seedling, and bucket equipment. In the era of Amazon and Ebay, GrowGen.pro is not very flexible in cancelling, exchange and refund. They need to eat the cost of shipping, they need to exchange orders with no questions asked, they need to allow us to cancel the order anytime and issue FULL refund. No stupid restocking fee. I've ordered from growgeneration many times online and have been extremely happy with their service all until... That day.. That day, were we needed to communicate. It feels like I'm communicating with low budget chat bots. My package was never delivered and they wanted me to fill out an RMA and return the items I didn't want.. It's been almost 1 week and they still have not acknowledged my package was never delivered to my home. They want me to wait another day before they open an investigation with their carrier to see if maybe the carrier claimed they delivered it but will really deliver it in the next day or so as they claim it's been less than 24 hours since my scheduled delivery date.. Honestly not a fan of this spot and it really sucks because I get the best discount growgen offers, however it's really hard to support a business when everyone acts like your dumb if you ask a question and your being treated like an idiot time after time after time of shopping. Growgen is a great store always has what I'm looking for however the workers are so pretentious it makes me want nothing to do with the store. The old guy with glasses literally acts like he's the god of weed the has all knows all of the industry yet he's pushing 60 working behind a counter..... definitely wouldn't come here unless you know for a fact what you need and I especially wouldn't recommend trying to develop a relationship with any of the staff. They literally are not cool unless you bring them big sample bags. Nothing like the people I was dealing with at growstores in Oregon who were super helpful and always quick to answer any questions and explain things when needed. I ordered 2 lights, they sent one. They requested photo documentation of the package. I sent and they replaced it with a defective bulb. I sent video documentation of this and they said fine they'd take care of it. Weeks (!) later they said they need the serial number. They said that that is clearly stated in their return policy. Try finding it on their website. AVOID THIS COMPANY. They are a corporate profit first people last company that could care less about you. read more

I have had some terrible experiences with this grow store. They are close proximity and have spent a lot of $$ here over the years. The las time i was there i had to yell multiple times to get a employee to come to register or at least acknowledge the fact that there are customers in the store, their response was "were helping a customer on the phone" how many employees does it take to answer a phone?? answer....6-8 people apparently. I understand that places get busy and stuff but come on man! All they had to do was say "will be with you in a few minutes" or something like that, instead of completely ignoring customers that are yelling for some help. Im a reasonable person and have no problem waiting but blatantly ignoring customers then giving them a bad attitude for trying to spend $$$ is a bit ridiculous. I really thought hard about calling to apologize but it bothered me how they acted inconvenienced by having to ring up a customer, thats it no questions or price check, just scan and pay yet this seemed to be a difficult task for some reason. Another big complaint i have with this Grow Gen location is they keep the Silica in a showcase with a pile of 5 gal tubs in front of it so YOU CAN'T SEE WHAT PRODUCTS THEY HAVE FOR SALE. The way its set up near the register is sloppy and poor at best, making it not only hard to see what they have for sale but also difficult to get access to the register. This set up is not only hard on the customers but for the staff as well. For how large this building is there has to be a better place for stuff instead of stacked up in front where every single customer has to work around. There are a few good people that work here so they are not all schmucks, but try going up there and ask questions and chances are you will get a response of "superiority" where rather than try to help someone learn the responses are usually condescending with a "my way is the best" attitude. I did have a really good experience with a guy with dred locks that helped me find a good liquid Bloom product during "Covid times" where he was very nice and helpful, but it depends on whos working that particular day. Of all the $$$ spent and trips up to this store i have found MUCH BETTER ALTERNITIVES for better prices as well. I was already pretty much done with dealing with this store before this incident due to finding a much cheaper, friendlier, and better selection at Barson's Nursery on Merriman & Warren which i highly recommend for all growing needs. They have a much better selection of dry amendments and have a wealth of knowledge regarding nutrients and soil microbes. The only reason i went back to Grow Gen is because Barson's was sold out of the soil i needed at the time. Gardening and growing is a learning experience and there is always something new to learn and nobody knows everything. Always room for growth (pun intended)! read more

Flashy store, huge sqft.age. Worthless staff. 1st issue, my buddy had a mite problem, the staff tried to sell him "Green fuze" a root stimulator, and tired to tell him he needed to use that. HA, and it gets better, all sales w/ them are final, they don't post this anywhere except the receipt you get after the sale. Funny? Lastly I ordered 500 worth of Nuit. alone, they said it would arrive on day X, it arrived day x plus 3, and they flat out refused to do anything about it. I ended up waiting 10 days for my order.
