Outrageously expensive.! They don't do Metal based crowns, so they want to charge $1700 for a crown. Delta Dental pays 50%, so that meant $850 to me.... really. I've decided to find a new provider after my cleaning here. The hygienist was highly unprofessional and lacked good bed side manners. She would cough into her arm while cleaning my teeth and shared way too much personal information. I was forced to listen to her chatter for nearly an hour while also worrying whether I'd catch an illness. When I requested my patent file be sent to a different provider, I was met with resistance. Receptionist told me it would take 3 weeks (I literally had been a patient for 6 months- how long does it take to copy my 3 pg file?). Since that wasn't acceptable, I was told I had to pick up the file in person and pay $25. The hours of business are more limited than my work day and so this office made things extra difficult for me by refusing to send my file to another dentist in a timely fashion. I also felt the copying fee was not appropriate given the fact that my file was a skimpy couple of pages. It's unfortunate I had to leave because I feel that Dr. Lee is a good dentist. However, I feel he needs better trained staff. ---- My husband and I both have had positive experiences with Doctor Lee. Both of us had cleanings and minor cavity fillings done. Dr. Lee is friendly and down to earth. So much so that he didn't mind doing my cleaning when the hygienist wasn't available that day. The office interior is simple but I don't go to the dentist for interior decoration inspiration. This office is able to accommodate my busy schedule and I appreciate that. They even advertise that they can take walk ins. My only suggestion for improvement is for receptionist staff to follow through when they say they will do something. I've had to call time and time again with the same request. read more

Took my 5 year old here for a cleaning and to investigate a toothache. The hygienist was wonderful. She was attentive and great with my kid. She talked with him and made him comfortable during the cleaning. The dissatisfaction that I have is with the front desk girl and Dr. Lee, the dentist. Front desk girl (the one in pink scrubs in one of the photos) was rude and unwelcoming. This was our first visit and we were not properly greeted or acknowledged when we walked in. The problem with the dentist is he does what he wants or thinks you need without proper consultation or consent. My kid needed three things done. I clearly told the dentist and the hygienist I wanted them to do one of the three procedures first since it was bothering him. The dentists started working away and come to find out, he ignored my request without discussion and completed the other two instead. When questioned, the hygienist said the dentist felt it best to start that way. Well, good for him. As a parent, I speak for my kid and I am paying for the procedures. Any treatment plan must be approved and authorized by me. I shared my thoughts with them and the hygienist apologized. Too bad the dentist didn't as well. The front office girl then tried to charge me for all three procedures even though only two of the three were completed. She then asked if we wanted to schedule an appointment for the third procedure. NO THANK YOU. Totally unprofessional operation. I went there and was overcharged, lied to, made to feel that I was unwanted as a patient, and FINALLY got my dental work completed after paying over $7000 (which is outrageous). I have since asked around and NO ONE who has ever gone to this dentist was happy with this office. Save your money and agony and find another dentist if you need any dental work done. I have to say that out of the many dental offices that I have gone to. This office really did have a great staff and over all feel to it. The girls in the front where very knowledgeable and courteous. The doctor is such a great and caring man. I love his Dental Schooling from Loma Linda. The wait time was really short and the office was super bright and energetic. The pricing was good for the area. Overall it was a great experience and I look forward to coming back. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! I went because my boss bought me and a couple of the other workers some "teeth whitening" special which I thought was a nice gift. So I went in during my appointment and the woman in the front desk ignored me, didn't even notice I was there (I thought of that to be very rude and unwelcoming). While I was there they offered me 50% off teeth cleaning so I accepted. I did not see or hear (the sink was behind me) the woman working on my teeth, wash her hands not even once! GROSSS! To top it off I wasn't even sure she was using clean/ new sterile equipment. Overall horrific experience. To top it off they didn't want to make my moldings for my teeth cleaning because I needed "some minor work done" which would have cost me close to $1,000! I declined and asked to get my molding done anyways because that was already paid for. To anyone looking for a good professional dentist DO NOT COME HERE!!! Never again will I come back! Don't feel comfortable going here. Staff and environment is unfriendly and unprofessional. Got a teeth whitening special here and they told me it would be done in a week and that they would call me. After over two weeks I decided to call and they told me it's been there and to come get it. No apology and explanation. Seriously? When I went in previous to this to get the impressions done, the lady that helped me left the gunk all over my mouth and didn't offer me a wet towel or water to rinse it out. So I went in for a little work done, and it was a great experience; clean place and very professional looking. Dr. Pritchett is a great guy he knows what he is doing and gets results fast. Rae, the lady that did most of my dental work was great too, she was friendly, very intelligent and quite frankly very pretty. My visits would have been perfect if it wasn't for the very rude receptionist. When I walked in I was ignored, while her and her co-worker (another receptionist) had a 10 minute discussion in Spanish about one of the patients that had just left. I understand Spanish, and it is very unprofessional of them to speak that way about a patient. The lobby atmosphere makes you feel unwanted. Back staff Great! Front staff not so much. read more

Dr. Pritchett recently passed away and this dental practice has been purchased by Dr. Lee who's new to the area from So Cal. I normally don't leave reviews, but the ratings here on Yelp need to be addressed. Dr. Lee has revamped the management of this office and his expertise is far superior. I've been going to this office for 4 years, and had been putting off some major dental work, but decided to move forward under Dr. Lee's care. I'm glad I waited in order to have a very proficient dental practitioner do the work. Big thumbs up and wishing Dr. Lee (and his office crew) great success in this new business venture. read more

One word; HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE mannerisms from the receptionist to the dental assistant. Jammed x ray tool in my mouth without warning. Proceeded to "mess" up this process several times. When time came to talk about the cost of the procedure, the dentist left the room and let his underlings handle the swindling. Old bait and switch. Got a quote for a decent amount, then surprise surprise, my "quote" jumped up by several hundred dollars! Bullshit. Took a day off from work to be treated like an idiot and attempted to hustled. Very disappointed. While Dr. Pritchett may be an excellent dentist, with this place, it's all about the money! I found that out when I had to miss an appointment due to an emergency. I called to let them know I couldn't make it in. 2 days I later I get a bill in the mail for a "missed appointment" fee. I seriously was preparing to spend nearly $10,000 at this business in the next few years, but because it seemed all about the money, I am taking my business elsewhere. I also found many of the staff, very uncaring and cold. And yes, I tried to explain it both times I spoke on the phone with April, but they were very insistent in collecting the fee. read more

In all of my times going to dental offices through the years this has got to be the worst one. Incompetent dentist, and a staff that has very little training on how to treat patients, or even how to run an office, very unethical policies as well. Their main objective is to drain you annual insurance money whether you need the work or not. I can give several examples but not necessary. Stay away. read more

I am extremely dissatisfied with the treatment I received at this dental office! I had relocated to this area from Los Angeles about a year ago, I found out recently that my insurance was running out. I call 1-800-Dentist to find a dentist in my area and they set me up with Grover Beach Dental. I explained to them I had just a couple of weeks to get the work done while I was still insured. We formulated a plan which included a bridge for a tooth I had extracted awhile back. My first visit was a 3 hour marathon, (screws for a new crown, filling etc.) I was glad though because I was getting some long-standing issues taken care of. I paid $1077 to offset what the insurance wouldn't cover. When I walked the next time I was told I would have to pay an additional $500. because my insurance was maxed...Okay fine, I paid that too. Today was my final visit, and after several weeks of night pain and spending money i really couldn't afford I was looking forward to getting my new crown and especially the bridge. The crown was installed and the dentist, Dr. Lee asked if I was going to do something about the missing tooth. Well, I was more than a little surprised by this question! I said I thought I was getting a bridge, and was told, no my insurance was maxed. I had been working on the assumption that I had paid the extra 500 for that bridge. "Oh no, your insurance is maxed.." the lady at the desk told me. At no time in all the visits and phone calls was I informed that the bridge wouldn't be part of what I had paid for..in effect, they changed a treatment plan I had agreed to and not told me. Now I've past the expression date on my insurance and am stuck. This all could've been resolved with them telling me the truth but sadly that didn't happen until they had gotten over $1400. from me. It's hard not to believe that I was ripped off. BTW, I called 1-800-DENTIST to complain and they asked fro my Email address so they could get a "claim started"!!! You can't just tell them on the phone, uhh no thanks. read more
