This is one of the old streets of NYC that does not fit the modern grid system we know today. A great place to explore with much history, and only spanning five blocks. It is known for Federal-style buildings and leafy trees making for an almost European, old-world feel. Grove street holds one of the city's oldest homes (17 Grove Street), and one of the most secret housing developments built in 1853 located between 10 and 12 Grove Street, called Grove Court. This development behind a wrought iron gate includes just six townhouses that were initially built for the NYC poor, but now they are much sought after Estste. Also, on the corner of Bedford and Grove (90 Bedford Ave) lie the famous video shot reel of the Friend's television sitcoms apartment! Merging NYC history with modern nostalgia, this is a must visit street to explore as a NYC insider. read more
