After having a horrible experience with my two first pregnancies with a doctor who was head of obstetrics at EVMS... my mother-in-law suggested a change and I switched to The Group for Women. The doctors that founded this group delivered my husband, my sister-in-law, my nephew and performed the first examination on me after I suffered a separated placenta during the birth of my second child (while my Dr. Head of Medical school OB/GYN stood across the room and drank coffee... never even stitching me up or examining me ever again even in the hospital. I remember dying and the baby came so fast that it really tore me up. My husband said it was so much blood it was like a car crash. When I called days later to tell them how much pain I was in, they told me to take six add Bill). Dr. Via, With his Grambling boys full of love and care, guided me through tomorrow pregnancies. Babies I would not of happened if I had not switched over to the group for women. During my third pregnancy, when I started having some spotting, I was used to taking that she's up my pizza and using my stair climber because my old doctor would tell me that my baby we're only weigh 8 pounds and what what I do with the rest of the way when I left the hospital. Dr. via told me to be fat and happy and enjoy that time in my life because I was growing child... A real human being and I should cherish that time in myself as much as everyone else was taking care of me. I was still flinch every time I got on the scale during my check ups, even his nurse would not blink an eye and I ended up gaining less and less weight with each pregnancy. It's almost like reverse psychology. When one doctor tells me to take the cheese of my pizza I intentionally ate it and gained weight. When Dr. via told me very warmly to pamper myself, I ended up only getting 19 pounds instead of 50. Dr. Jim via, one of the founding partners, became my doctor and the reason I decided to have more children. He is the reason that I have four beautiful children today! Unfortunately, I am leaving the practice because all but one or two of the original doctors have retired now and even one of the newer doctors who performed my hysterectomy is now gone. I like to establish long-term relationships with my doctors because I have other life-threatening conditions. However, I owe The wonderful physicians at this group all of the things in the world and I really hope that someone looking for an OB/GYN selects A doctor here. I also think that after being under the care of Dr.Via for so long, no one there could ever measure up for me. There are younger faces and doctors who will one day be just as good or nearly just as good. I'm sure you'll find one of them, last time and be with their own patients until they retire. Please do not let my retreat dissuade you from going there. Jim via will always be in my heart and my husband's heart as well. The original partners of this group basically brought our entire family into this world. It's a little more difficult for us to start using the younger faces after having those incredible men guide us through some of the most important months of our lives! read more
