Stephanie was a pleasure to work with, her staff did an incredible job making sure everyone was fed and happy, and the food was phenomenal. We had an all vegetarian wedding, and even the most ardent carnivores told us how much they loved the food. Before the wedding, Stephanie impressed us with how frank, straightforward and helpful she was. She has a huge menu, but was completely willing to make substitutions or additions to her dishes in order to fit everyone's needs. She was also really flexible about what would and would not be included--she was happy to let us pick our own drinks and table settings, for instance. At the event itself, everything went beautifully. The food was even better than the tasting, and line management, passed appetizers and the bar were all handled beautifully. The staff was incredibly sweet and helpful, and were very flexible in response to our somewhat unplanned reception (we asked them to move the tables back to make more room for dancing midway through everything, which worked--we changed our minds about a cake cutting at the last minute--no problem). The cake was probably the most delicious cake I've tasted--incredible for a big wedding cake. It's a good thing that my wife is now stuck with me, because I intend to gain about 20 pounds working through leftovers :). Hire this woman.

Most impressively, not a single person with dietary restriction felt like they were missing out in any way. Everything that made it onto the table was fresh, delicious, and perfectly presented. Jeanette also took excellent care of our vendors, and was so good about keeping everything on schedule and running smoothly.

Chef Mellanee's page, filled with tantalizing spreads, set in entrancing presentation, made a foodie like myself, instantly interested. Upon speaking with Chef Mellanee, I was immediately taken by her warmth, easy-going nature, patience (because, I asked SO many questions, on multiple occasions), and polished professionalism. Though I had nothing solidified, in terms of a venue, or even a wedding planner, Chef Mellanee offered me much guidance, and recommended a venue, which eventually led me to connect with my future Wedding Planner! I was presented a set list with a plethora of hors d'oeuvres, Buffet and Dinner compilations, and a separate drink menu, should an open bar be desired. Though many fantastic options were listed for consideration, Chef Mellanee informed I could inquire about offerings not listed, also. On the day of the tasting, my then-fiance and I, had car trouble. After speaking with Chef Mellanee, she graciously offered to extend the appointment to a reasonable time. By a miracle of God, we made it to the tasting, with 20-mins to spare. Upon entering Chef Mellanee's presence, we were immediately put at ease. The highly stressful event we'd been through, began to melt off us. Music played, in the background that set a loving mood. My beloved and I, sat at a table set for us to dine like royalty. Each course was impeccable, and Chef Mellanee checked to ensure our thoughts about each dish, were of genuine satisfaction. After our meal, and offering our final decisions, Chef Mellanee brought out a card game for us to play! It was a sweet game, made to enhance connection between a couple. We loved it! On the day of the wedding, upon entering the venue, I was told by my wedding planner to check a bag that had been left in my changing room. There, I found a white box, embossed with The Fork Goes on the Left emblem. Inside sat a few wonderful items, and a thoughtful, sweet note, that I keep in mind each day. From the time of service to the end of the night, everyone raved about the food, and service, rendered by Chef Mellanee, and her A+ Team. The food was well seasoned, and delightfully satisfying, speaking to our guests' Caribbean background, and elevated tastes. Chef Mellanee's team were the epitome of polished professionalism, courtesy, and joy! What also caught my eye, was how well Chef Mellanee's Team had her back. Before my husband, and I, were to take a picture with Chef Mellanee, the same lady on her Team, stopped to fix Chef's collar, to ensure she looked her best - I LOVED that! It spoke to everything we saw that evening, that contributed in so many ways, to their supreme level of service. Great trust, comradery, and respect worked within their Team dynamic. If any Bride is considering catering services, please, look no further than The Fork Goes on the Left. The level of care, and pampered service you, and your guests, will experience, will undoubtedly make your event, a day or night, to remember. I have tried a lot of catering food consisting of under-seasoned chicken and overcooked salmon, but this was anything but. All the proteins we chose (grilled chicken, seared salmon, grilled shrimp, and crispy tofu) were seasoned well and not overcooked. There were so many veggie sides. My favorites were avocado, glazed walnuts, charred cauliflower, blistered tomatoes, fire-roasted garlic broccoli, and roasted beets. Everyone got to compose their own protein + grain + veggie plate. I joked to the other guests that I felt like this was Thanksgiving, but with better healthier options. This was the first "Thanksgiving" that I did not get food coma after a filling meal.

New York Deaf Theatre is a non-profit that was celebrating their 35 year anniversary and I, as part of the fundraising committee, wanted to put together something classy, yet affordable, for the guests in attendance. From the beginning, Abigail was open and flexible in the planning. We devised a Plan A option of three hand passed appetizers and a Plan B option with two appetizers and a stationary table of fruits, veggies, dips and breads. As the event got closer to "opening night", Abigail was willing to work with the head count and budget to assess which plan we could put into effect. This is so rare in a caterer. Usually once something is down on paper there is no room for adjustment; however, in our case it was truly hard to predict how many people would be able to attend the event. Kind Table found a way to fit with us, not the other way around. What an asset! What a relief! Furthermore, the food itself was truly delicious and filling. We wanted to provide the guests with something interesting and flavorful but that also left them feeling satisfied. Kind Table delivered on every aspect of that. I just loved the olive tapenade! Everything had an air of sophistication with food pairings, and yet did not feel snobby or too upper crust. Additionally, Abigail was willing to adjust one of the appetizer options to literally cater to a guest with severe dietary needs. She provided the same filling and flavorful options to this guest while working within her strict dietary guidelines. A huge, huge Thank YOU for this. The sandwiches were all a huge hit, especially the vegan cauliflower one (by everyone, not just vegans).
